  2. Titles counts and keeps countin', and we knows now finding the trick of who's been titled and titles lost ain't no easy ride. But that's our lot, we gotta' travel it. And there ain't nobody knows who they're gonna' title next. Still in all, every night we seeks the title, so that we 'member who we was and where we came from... but most of all we 'member the Mods that finded us, them that came with titles. And we lights the boards, not just for the 'membrance of Arch or Gemma but for CGC Mike, and for all of them that are still out there. 'Cause we knows there comes a night, when they sees the distant light, and another Custom Title be comin' home.
  3. Watched it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Just had a great time watching it. To the naysayers pointing out scientific issues I will say the same thing I said to Steve Higgins (owner of Outer Limits comic book shop in Waltham MA) when he was commenting on the ridiculousness of the talking dolphin in the new Seaquest DSV tv show that came out at the same time as Lois and Clark The New Adventures of Superman: "So you are saying a talking dolphin is absurd but a child from another planet shot to earth from a rocket getting super powers and virtual invincibility from a yellow sun is normal?" And to the canonical observers, without change or retconning we would never get past the Grey Hulk in #1 from 1962. So quit'yer bellyachin'!
  4. Fading is high on my list of deal breakers along with rusty staples/rust migration, and tan-brittle pages.
  5. Appears to have been a one-shot based on My Comic Shop. https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?pl=Debutante Warriors
  6. Leave it. You risk further damage removing the three staples. And yes, as Scburdet said, you'll end up with staples holes.

  10. I shall be there. Still unsure of what to focus on. Probably either Fox/Fiction House/Fawcett GGA type adventure comics or readers of the SA pre-hero Marvel titles (TOS, TTA, JIM and ST). Maybe some crime as well. We shall see! Looking forward to this.
  11. Based on the professionally pressed (not by CGC) books I have got back I would hesitate to send anything in until the current issues get straightened out. No idea what new problems will crop up by their handling.
  12. But wether it attracts or repels depends on the orientation of the magnet to the magnet teeth.
  13. If Superman #1 will not be sold for that price, at what price WILL it be sold??? At whatever price a BUYER pays for it. Now to the main issue: That Devil Dinosaur is faded MAGENTA. The color "red" is not an ink used in this 4-color process. There would be absolutely no HINT of even light orange if the magenta ink was not there. Those light orange areas can only be the result of yellow and magenta. The magenta is faded but not 100% - enough is left to create that pale orange. If the magenta ink were not printed it would just be yellow. As regards your "Don't we value Amazing Spider-Man #375 with WHITE printing error on cover MOSTLY because it is extremely rare? Right now it is going for $124,000 on ebay." Anything can "go for" anything someone wants to list it for. It means squat. Not sure just who the "we" is that is supposed to value it so highly.
  14. Ultimately it seems to be their position on resto in general. In 2002 I asked why they use the term "restoration includes" but no reply from CGC. Best board member comment I saw was it gives them some "wiggle room".
  15. Then they shouldn't put themselves in the pressing business. I agree about it being a bad move to put themselves in the pressing biz, but I'm also not sure how that is relevant to the concept that any book without a pressing notation can be considered unpressed.
  16. Thanks. It put me in mind of PCH so I pulled the trigger under the influence of several rounds of rum and coke, which made me not notice the staples reference. You know that was some years ago since it pre-dates sake for me!
  17. just adding this to the mix (get it - "Mix" - I slay me!)
  18. To my mind CGC stating certain books are pressed when they are aware of it implies any book without such a notation can be considered unpressed. It is a slippery slope.
  19. You have to forget "newsstand" and take it a bit further back to "just off the line". The acts of bundling/loading/transporting unbundling etc. all take a toll. A well pressed book can reflect "pre-distribution" condition.
  20. BUT a collectible t-shirt that has not been washed and has the original store tags are worth more.
  21. Working now. Extract below: 4035613001 Batman 423 Grade 9.4 Page Quality WHITE Grade Date 06/22/2022 Grader Notes light spine stress lines to cover
  22. Looks just like the ones I had issues with. Same for me as well - from presser to CGC.
