Black Cat sketch by Buzz. Just got to CGC today. Picked up and submitted on 7/1/18 at the Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con. Can't wait to see this one slabbed. Sorry for image here - it's a quick cell phone pic.

Signature Series Noob Thread READ HERE BEFORE STARTING THREAD

Here's a question for all the experienced SS convention sketch people. DC has recently started adding a tissue paper-like protective outer covering on their sketch blanks. It really helps to reduce stray marks picked up from contact with other books, and I'm sure it'll help with the same on artists' sketch tables at shows. When submitting these for grading, would one leave that protective cover on and let CGC remove it, or does it need to be removed before submission? -

Despite this, I'm sure some of our stalwart facilitators may be able to assist. For what it's worth, the 5-day passes sold out in 2 days' time. -

Could you please add Doctor Aphra issue 14-20 and associated variants? -
Shipping slabs with a "pool noodles"...

I kind of like this. I think they would offer a little more stability, crush far less easily and possibly negate need for double boxing. -
Is paying sales tax at conventions the standard?

New rules at the register Starting Jan. 27, 2013, merchants can charge you extra for paying by credit card. This marks the second big change in card rules in two years, coming on top of the Durbin Amendment, which was mainly aimed at debit cards but also affected credit card transactions. Here is a review of what can now happen at the register. What merchants can do: Charge you extra for paying with any MasterCard or Visa card, up to 4 percent initially.* Offer discounts for paying with cash, check or debit (PIN). Impose a surcharge for paying with a particular type of MasterCard or Visa.* Require a $10 minimum for credit card purchase. What merchants must do: Disclose any credit card surcharges in signs at the entrance and near the register. Detail the extra fee on your receipt. *Except 10 states where prohibited: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Oklahoma and Texas. Sources: Electronic Payments Coalition, court documents _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ When I ran my computer repair business, I never added a surcharge for use of credit cards. I just considered it a cost of doing business, and it was legal to deduct those fees the credit card companies charged you for the interchange as an expense when you prepared taxes. Being able to use a credit card was sometimes the only option a consumer had, because many didn't have the spare cash (sad, I know) to afford a computer repair without using their cards. As a consumer, I don't like paying extra for the convenience of using a card, especially given that I'm already paying a percentage for the privilege to begin with. -
He may have signed up for the Kickstarter with an alt email address that he rarely checks. The fact that he's messaged though and then failed to reply is really curious.

and you though we were weird. My day at the doll convention
celluloidbuff replied to NoMan's topic in Comics General
Has anyone here seen Con Man (short episodic series by Alan Tudyk & Nathan Fillion)? There was an episode about this very thing, when a doll convention was held at the same time as a comic con. Tricia Helfer was the doll collector in the episode. More frightening than any Cylon. -
No lingering effects from the fall. Just have to wait a week to get the staples out. She's upset about her new blouse and coat being ruined with blood. Pretty sure I can launder it though. To add insult to injury, I took a 9-1-1 call (I work for a consolidated dispatch center in Des Moines) from my own mom last night during an overtime stint and had to send an ambulance to her. Thank goodness I knew everything about her, because she could barely speak to answer questions. Another ER run (while I had to wait on edge for my relief to show up). Thanks for the well wishes. I'll be watching her closely.

My mom (age 74) lost her balance and fell outside her car, cracking her head open. Spent four hours in ER with her, and I’ll be looking after her instead of attending the show today. Sorry. I’ll try make the next one, but family has to come first.

My nephew and I are planning on attending, barring severe weather. Not sure what he'll be hunting. He's got his Spawn list down under ten books now, so maybe variants? I'm coming with no agenda other than having fun.

Can you add the action figure variants for Star Wars #31-#45?
