  1. Don't know about my favorite GA character buy my granddaughter, who is going on 6, loves Peter Panda. Too hard for her to read so I read it for her and act out the characters. She loves that and it keeps her away from the TV for a little while which her mom really encourages.
  2. WoW! for a low-grade copy, it's awfully nice looking. Vivid covers. One of the great covers early Silver Age Superman. If I didn't have two decent-looking copies, I'd be all over it.
  3. FYI One of the episodes of the old Adam West Batman TV show was adapted from Batman 73. Keep it a secret though so the prices don't skyrocket on the book.
  4. I love the cover to the SA 56. It's in great shape, too. Great purchase. One of my favorite titles--both the 10-cent and 12-centers. Colors are sharp and vivid. Congrats.
  5. Boy, is that one heckava comic. GLWTS.
  6. Superman 100--205 Universal 8 ---Restored 1 Qualified (Don't know what that means) Mid Grade 39 in 5.0 11 in 5.5 5 in 6.0 5 in 6.5 7 in 7.0 HG is a 9.0 and there are 3 of those. Superman 101 40--Universal 0 Restored 0 Qualified 3 in 5.0 3 in 5.5 HG is 9.0 and there are two in the censurs. 1 in 6.0 4 in 6.5 (I have a CGC 7.0 copy) 6 in 7.0 Superman 102 28 --Universal 1 Restored 4 in 5.0 5 in 5.5 0 in 6.0 I own a CGC 6.5 but it certainly looks higher than a 6.5; it looks much nicer than the 7.0 CGC gave me for the 7.0 copy of Superman 101) 1 in 6.5 2 in 7.0 HG is a lone 9.2 Superman 103 27 Universal 1 Restored 2 in 5.0 2 in 5.5 3 in 6.0 HG is a lone 9.2 2 in 6.5 2 in 7.0 That's it for now; I will be happy to chart a few others tomorrow.
  7. I certainly will. My writing skills are not as good as they should be and although I enjoy reading books, it takes me forever to get through a novel or a work of non-fiction or biography. I'm reading a book that just came out called "The Goddess of Anarchy": The Life and Times of Lucy Parsons, American Radical" It's a 355 page book, started it about three weeks ago and I'm on page 113. I read very slowly to comprehend and must look up "SAT words" and foreign phrases which slows me down but I like to learn new words. Checked it out of local library and I can always renew it especially a book that's not exactly on everybody's "must read" list. Finally, I never really graduated HS as the school district sent me to a special school for kids with learning difficulties and never made it through. I was also a major discipline problem in classrooms starting in third grade. Hated school and except for two teachers, hated them too. Teachers, back in the day, had no patience with less than average students. Loved Mrs. Manpearl in fourth grade-- Mrs. McMurrin in 9th grade. And of course i started collecting comics in fourth grade.
  8. I will take the Western Bandit Trails with the pretty girl on the Silver Horse (Baker cover I hope.) Thanks
  9. OK No problems. Should have phrased the question more clearly. Yes, I will check the Population census. That would give me an idea. Thanks for the suggestion. Steve
  10. All I want to know is which Superman from 100-110 (1950s) is the toughest to find in mid grade. Is 101 tougher to find than 108? Superman collectors would likely shed some light on this situation. If you don't understand, then don't get all saracastic about it. Maybe there are others that do.
  11. Using mid grade designation which I will define as CGC 5.0-7.0, which is the toughest Superman in this numerical range (100-110) to find. The books may be raw as long as they are accurately graded or as close as possible. Thanks in advance!
  12. Thanks for the response. I think I'll hold onto it.
  13. I have a Batman 73 but it''s only in about VG or VG- grade but it has a nice spine and great colors. Would this be worth submitting to CGC and giving it to one of the comic book auction sites? How much would it be worth? I bought it about 11 years ago. Of course, I could hang onto it, too. And how much would it fetch on the open market? Is there a demand for lower grade Joker covers? Thanks in advance Steve
  14. Beautiful books, Dan--especially the 80-pg. GIANT Superboy. Congrats.
  15. Great book. If I didn't have one in my collection that I bought about 7 years ago, I would have been all over that copy. Congrats to both seller and buyer. It's a much underrated DC key that is beginning to catch on. Again, a wonderful book and a great TV show that is still fun to watch and the comic is a joy to read.
  16. Certainly a beautiful and wonderful copy of a great cover. Wish I could afford it. Just the same GLWTS. That book should move.
  17. I couldn't attend this time around but I've been to all the others. Terry does great job of putting on and promoting the show. I think the current facilities are too small or limited to accommodate the crowds; the show attracts probably 5-10x more fans than it did in it's first few years. If the room can be expanded or more rooms added then it's current location will be fine; if not then perhaps another location should be considered.
  18. I'll have to try that. I will ask the wife; she's good at all things tech. Thanks.
  19. Love these books as well but I really enjoy Judy books the best. Again, thanks for sharing. You have a great collection of DC teen books. I enjoy them so much. I also enjoy DC funny animal comics--especially Peter Panda and Three Musketeers. Just bought a real nice 5.5 Peter Panda 1. I don't know how to scan books but if would like to PM me your mobile phone phone # I would be glad to take a pic of the book and send it to your phone. If not, that's okay, too. Keep sharing those books.
