I remember buying this series with issue #27. Thought that Starlin cover was just great as well as the interior art. I might have passed it up if my first exposure was the S&M outfit cover with issue #18. WTH was up with that?

I will always remember this guy for Altered States.

I don't buy books much anymore these days, but I came across this beautiful copy at an incredibly cheap (almost reader level) price. Had a copy of it back in high school and always loved the cover. Man, Sci-Fi and Chariots of the Gods stuff back in the '70s was so exciting. That upper left corner is actually just glare from the mylar. There's no wear or tearing.

Truly sad news. George appears to be going about his situation as courageously as he can. I hope people will remember that for years to come.

Chamber of Darkness 4 vs Conan 1 is a good example of prototype vs 1st appearance. Here we had a character look almost exactly like Conan and drawn by Barry Smith, but was called Starr the Slayer.

I was pretty sure the talking raccoon in Marvel Preview #7 had a name so I got out my copy to take a look.
There is a panel in which he says his friends call him Rocky.
He was called Rocky even in Hulk 271.

Very nice. I have a decent, mid-grade raw copy and thought about pursuing a higher grade, slabbed one to complete my Bats Adams "key" books, but lost interest when these got pricey a few years ago.

Certainly looks better than the stamps on some of my slabbed books and they didn't affect the grade. I'd say you're good.

I generally never go lower than ow/w for early, pre-75 BA books.just my preference. Anything SA or GA, I’m open. Depends on the book.

Really sorry to hear that. I can relate. In '97, virtually my entire vintage sports card collection was stolen in a break-in. Nothing was ever recovered. Add insult to injury, the police caught the guy with a few cards still in his possession, but I never got those back either. They were "lost" by the PD while being held for evidence. I had some MAJOR cards in this collection, of which the lot would easily be in the six figures today.
For those who haven't had to go through this, I HIGHLY recommend you invest in both a safe and also a reliable security service monitoring your house. Take the precautions while you still can.

I'm surprised ST 7 is not more popular than it is. For awhile, it was practically ignored by Bat fans. I know there's a lot of copies out there, but considering the craze for vintage Batman related books, you'd think more fans would be interested in Wrightson's take of the Dark Knight. Good to see it finally get more attention.

Wow. One of my favorite books of all time. One of the best looking 8.0s I've seen. GLWTS.

Why out? Priced out or loss of interest? Just curious, killer book btw!
Just lost interest. A few years ago, I realized I went way over my intended goal. I "returned" to the hobby after a 30 year hiatus in 2011 because I was on a Batman kick and wanted all those Neal Adams books from my childhood. After I completed my Adams Bats run, I went ahead and completed my Barry Smith Conan run. After that, I started collecting Kirby 4th World and Miller DD, but realized I wasn't going getting the same satisfaction. Decided it was time to step on the brakes and just enjoy what I have. Always loved Satana though. Marvel's answer to Vampirella in the '70s my opinion.

I still consider myself out of the hobby, but I had to get this one when the opportunity arose.

After "leaving" the hobby over two years ago and almost four years later after this old post, I can finally quoted myself. Satana is home just in time for Christmas. Unless something else comes along that completely blows me away, I think this is the last book I'll buy in a while.

All kidding aside, just send CGC an email with the recommendation and a written justification (reference story lines, special appearances, etc..). If they deem it valid, it will be considered. They've done this before in the past. 1st app of Harvey Bullock comes to mind.
