Don't like it.

I collected BA Bats, especially the Adams related stuff, feverishly back in 2011-2014. Overpaid for many of the books at the time and thinking I'll never recoup my money.. Looking back, those seem like real bargain prices now.

I'm amazed at how much this auction is going for considering ZERO feedback for the seller. I guess I haven't kept up. Is a 9.6 really fetching this much?

Woah. Completely floored by this news. RIP.

I always thought Thongor was an interesting character. If for anything, this was Stan Lee's choice over Conan according to Roy Thomas and only because Stan thought he had a cooler sounding name.

Wow. We lose another great. RIP.

A classic cover. At least in my opinion anyway. I remember there was this arcade in downtown Boston back in the early 70s that had a huge poster of this book in the window. Never read the book, but always thought it was SO COOL. Always wondered where they got it. Kane and Romita, right?

Wasn't bidding on this, but was following it just out of curiosity. Was astounded by how much a 3.5 was able to fetch.

I have recently noticed a slight trend on IG. I have seen sellers use women who are showing much of their "assets" as a method to sell books.
Look, I'm no prude. However, if I was a female collector, I would find this strategy to be offensive. If sellers used sculpted men in Speedo swimming trunks to sell comics, I would feel the same way. Again, I'm no prude. However, I don't think it's appropriate to use a person's sexuality to sell comics. With some other products, it's a fine line, but sexuality and comics just aren't related. Yes, this is despite the fact that many artists draw anatomically impossible women.
Do you agree with this method of selling comics? I would like to hear your thoughts.
Here are some recent examples:

That Conan 1 is one of the best 9.2s I've ever seen. GLWTS.

This is just a reader. Enjoy it as such.

I remember back in late '70s/early '80s, Gil Kane did like 90% of all the covers for Marvel. Must have been a time when most of the best artists left because most of the interior art was .

Adams had so many great runs. Batman and GL get the lion's share of the attention and rightfully so, but I absolutely love his Deadman, X-men, and even the mini-run he did on the Avengers. Must haves for those collecting Neal Adams IMO.

I have that book. Bought it back in the day when it first came out and re-bought it again when I returned to the hobby. As far as DC treasuries go, this is one of the best. Not only does it showcase two great Adams works, but classic Wrightson Batman as well in addition to a full reprint of Batman 227 (back before the cover took center stage from the story itself).

I just realized the irony. Checked my records. This was the last comic I bought.

I knew at some point the legend would leave us, but it's still hard to digest when it actually happens. Neal Adams was one of my favorite, if not favorite, artists when I was in HS back in the early '80s and had hopes of one day being an artist myself. When I "returned" to the collecting hobby back in 2011, Neal Adams Batman was my entry point and remained my primary focus until I "left" the hobby again a few years ago. Although I poked fun at him for Batman Odyssey, it was always with respect and reverence for his talent. So long, Sir. Please give our regards to Jack, Bernie, Gil, and all the greats waiting for you.

LOL. I know the feeling. Although I've picked up maybe 4-5 "exception" books over the last 5 years, I basically got out in 2017-18. Selling off my sports card collection at the moment. In a few years, I'll probably start selling off the books as I get closer to (hopefully) early retirement.

I like Dustin Nguyen's style, but I couldn't say whether he's in high demand though (compared to artists like McFarlane, Jim Lee, etc..). He's just a personal fav. Amanda Connor's art is fun as well, especially her Power Girl stuff.

Congrats. Conan #12 in high grade is much harder to find than anyone thinks. Took me forever to find one.
