  1. Just got confirmation that these are on the way as well A companion copy to the Savannah 9.6 copy I got last week. Another Adams Bats BB. (Yeah, I can do without the horrible wrap, but the price was fair) This next one, I will concede is a SA book, but it's still an Adams Bats. An old label 9.0 with White pages.
  2. Just got home from vacation and this was waiting for me. OK. I know I'm gonna get a ton of comments that this is really Silver age, but I just can't see it as SA. The modern artwork, writing style, the entire tone, it just smacks of BA all over it and that's how I view this Bats book.
  3. Beautiful book. Congrats. Still looking for a reasonable companion copy to my 9.4. Lots of copies have turned up the last couple of months, but none of them have been bargains. I don't know if it's because this book is really that hot or it's just a few hoarders trying to corner the market
  4. Just a cheap reading copy. Got it as an alternative to a real BB #79 (pending )
  5. Courtesy of board member nochips. Very nice BA Bats. Not a Neal Adams book, but nice nevertheless.
  6. I thought the CC book was better overall. I had a $2600 tracker bid on it and was dreaming for a while, but I knew it wouldn't last
  7. Courtesy of Flaming_Telepath. 8 more books for my Adams Bats collection. The Bats 255 is at least a 9.0 or better. I've got an old label 8.5 of the same book for comparison and this one kicks it's butt. Sorry for the crappy pic.
  8. There's some talent in this board. Nice stuff. I will say that I absolutely do not consider myself an artist by any means. While digging through some old boxes this week, I found some stuff that hasn't seen the light of day in decades. At one point in my highschool days, I had some minor asperations of being an sketch artist of some type. My dad thought it was a waste of time and never supported me on it (like a lot of things the a-hole never supported me on). Anyway, I think the Reggie sketch was the absolute last drawing I ever did. Graduated HS one year later and left home for the USMC shortly after. The below is some unfinished stuff. I have no idea what I was originally intending to draw.
  9. Just another low grade reading copy. Condition is nice, but pages are a little tanner than l'd like though.
  10. I guess the book's been hot of late. I don't have the long term perspective some of you do, but since returning to the hobby only 4 months ago, I've noticed that this book sells really well regardless of condition. I'm not surprised with the amount the 8.5 got even with the C/OW pages, but I did thought the 9.8 with white pages was a little lower than expected (although not by much). Interesting to see what the 9.8 over at Heritage will end up with.
  11. I actually won these back in 5 July, but I finally got them in the mail today. A very nice, 8.5 raw copy. This is actually my second Tec 425 (already have a beautiful, old lable 8.5). I put a low ball $50 bid on it not expecting to win. Much to may surprised, I actually won it. This, and Tec 424, are probably my favorite non-Adams covers from the BA Bats period.
  12. I could never understand why Tigra even bothered to wear a bra
  13. Some more BA Bats for my small, but steadily growing collection. I think the DC Super Star Holiday special is right at the tail end of the BA according to the rules. It's Frank Miller's first work on Batman, but before his work on the DKR.
  14. I wasn't surprised that the Hagarland 9.2 would go for about $600. That was about as low as they would have gone based the email they sent. The $300 for the 9.0 was a surprise though. It thought it had a chance to go a little higher. Does "cream" or "cream to OW" really hurt BA books that much? Early '80s BA maybe, but this is 41 year old book.
  15. I kind like the ComicConnect one better. White pages always sells me.
  16. Wow. All three 9.8s coming up for sale at about the same time. I guess this is about as close to a buyers' dream as you're going to get.
  17. Well, it looks like the book is BACK. I guess the winner bidder from the previous auction attempt finally noticed the fine print and refused to pay. From the looks of it, it appears there's a whole new bunch of folks who are bidding up this book without noticing the little tidbit about the tape http://cgi.ebay.com/200634046509
  18. More Adams Bats for the belfry. Not the highest of grades, but it's the highest I've been able to find for this particular book. A nice raw copy I picked up at a local comic shop for $8.00.
  19. OK, it's not a Bats 227, but surfing around today I came across this. I guess this theme has been copied a few times.
  20. Best copy I've seen yet. Can't wait to put my tracker bid in just so I can say that I tried If it wasn't for the fact that I'm still trying to pay off that 9.4 I bought.........
  21. Well, it wasn't me that nabbed this book, but I was thinking of making him an offer. I don't really need another copy, but that Haganland 9.2 with the white pages is very tempting.
  22. Ya know, I had no idea that Ross had passed away (and at such a relatively young age at that). I had left the hobby twelve years earlier in '81 or '82.
  23. Hey, that's the same one from Haganland. They did mention they might post it on eBay. Very nice copy and wish I had the funds. Even with the little binder crease towards the bottom, it's got great visual appeal. I love the white pages.
