  1. Checking every day now, two Scheduled for Grading since 4/26. Any day now
  2. This entirely sums up my situation. My collection is my collection and as I don't need money from sales right now, I have no intention of selling. When I retire, I will then begin to start downsizing and eventually just have my near and dear keys in my display case.
  3. I've done similar a couple of times when my best offer was rejected just to see how close it was actually to the listed price.
  4. Personally, I would also keep the JIM. A key and Stan Lee signature series are two very viable reasons in my book.
  5. Love seeing a Groo thread. While my Destroyer Duck signed by Sergio is not CGC, have Pacific #1 9.0 (Qualified due to Sergio's unwitnessed signature on front) and raw Marvel #1 that I had Sergio also sign.
  6. I am always in awe of comics that old, graded 9+. My lone contribution representing my only GA Schomburg.
  7. Many years of buying and selling on Ebay have been for the most part positive. As already stated, I buy from well reviewed sellers, look closely at pictures and send questions if needed. In my early days, I was burned by a couple early Tales of Suspense that came back qualified (one slight color touch which can be anything but the one that hurt was trimmed). I do try to buy graded now but will still roll the dice on a raw every now and then.
  8. Longtime seller and offer I believe 30 day returns to hit a higher status. Over 1K sales with two returns I can remember and none of them comics.
  9. That was my first run completed, 94 - 143. A great series.
  10. Very nice, hoping for upticks in my #2 (previous 8.5) and #3 (previous 9.0) after signing and pressing but still good if they keep the previous grades.
  11. There may be more value in keys that are characters he created or had a hand in, Avengers 57 (Vision), Marvel Premiere 15 (Iron Fist), Hulk 180/181 (Wolverine) as he is 80 years old and one of the few old school writers still with us. I sent a few last year and will be submitting a few more this time around also.
  12. I submitted my Avengers 57 for pressing and grading and while tracking info shows it has been delivered, it hasn't been marked as received yet. I would like to add this to a few others I will send in for the Roy Thomas in house private signature event. Is that possible and if yes, can you advise who I need to contact? Thank you
  13. Overall feel there is the rising of all boats on many keys and some non-keys. Before when I submitted a bunch for grading, I was happy when I got a 9.8 or two from the bunch before embracing pressing. I feel with some prices for 9.8 going beyond many people's reach, 9.6 is gaining. 9.2 is what I see Overstreet max at so always feel 9.4 is the red headed stepchild of higher grades.
  14. Actually I was extremely impressed with many of the signature series opportunities over the last year. Bringing back Roy Thomas now has me sending in more that I didn't send the first time around while I won't be sending in for any actors signature series events. Not against others sending in for actors signatures but not doing that on my side.
  15. Was going to post the Wikipedia link also. That's what I used to go through what I plan to send in. Already had a few others when he had the same option last year but will send a couple more this time.
  16. Just let a little more of that FF5 love trickle down to the FF4 in my collection.
  17. Had thoughts on Chris Evans signing a Cap America book but decided against is for many of the above reasons. Keeping comic signatures to those related comic creators. And the fact he was charging $300+
  18. ....checking my Iron Man 1......drat, it's a lowly green.
  19. All along, I had TOS 65 as the first Red Skull and didn't know this background. Off to get me a TOS 66 also.
  20. Don't worry, soon someone will state either their 180 or 181 is in with CGC for grading and the turnaround time rabbit hole will commence. Now for my contribution, Trimpe signs as the "First appearance" and Roy Thomas didn't dispute when I had him sign
  21. I believe per the news, Florida has fully opened back up. Not that there was much closure.
  22. Thank you! I have an Avengers 57 that I picked up after the last signing to send this time.
  23. Love this topic and if we all had a crystal ball many of us would be retired by now answering this question for collectibles and the stock market. When I was younger and actively collecting comics, I luckily seemed to pick a lot of books that are now increasing heavily in value. When I got back in comics a few years ago, I had disposable income that I didn't have in my younger days and was able to start buying more of my childhood favorites, Marvel Silver Age 12c comics. Wish I had bought some more keys but happy with my current collection. Short answer that I have found is, you can gather information from this and other related boards out there, don't be disappointed if you miss a couple and some that you do purchase don't increase in value.
  24. Wow, just checked the last couple on Ebay and getting close to $3K. Hope some uplift for my 9.6 Miller Sig Series
