  1. Love the sketches and congrats on the 2nd print Raphael grade. Still kicking myself for getting rid of my 1st prints years ago but such is life.
  2. This always comes into my mind when looking at raw comics especially now for the prices realized for keys. Yes, it takes extra time and effort to get them graded but the extra ROI more than outweighs that IMHO. Others obviously disagree and will take a chance on getting the NM copy for below FMV.
  3. While never submitting to PGX, I do have some standards, I have purchased a few at auction and then sent to CGC for reholder. Most surprisingly came back similar grade with one coming back higher.
  4. I know I'll never own an Action Comics #1 or Detective #27 but would at least like to see them in person for one day. Definitely separated by drool proof glass. But that aside, I am always astounded and intrigued when reading reports of the finding of an old comic or baseball card collection. These still happen to this day and who knows how many more are out there.
  5. Fully would expect a green label but no intentions of ever sending it in for CGC grading. This was a purchase entirely for myself and will eventually display opened up to that glorious last panel.
  6. Haven't had the pleasure of being in the actual presence of an Action Comics #1 but hope to see one in person some day. This will add to the market frenzy even more.
  7. Holy moly. Must have been 5 or 6 years ago, I won an Ebay auction with a CGC 9.8 282 with a cracked case and about 10 raw copies. Sent in the CGC 9.8 for reholder and came back 9.8 Over the following two+ years sold off the raw copies for $5 - $10 essentially recouping what I paid for the whole auction. In retrospect, slightly wish I held on to the raws or sent them in for CGC grading. Otherwise pretty darn happy now holding an ever increasing 9.8.
  8. Well, since I have an Annual 14 and don't have 266, I'm a bit biased but curious to see where those 9.9's land.
  9. Fingers crossed here also Checking my status daily and still at the received portion.
  10. Love that Hulk 180 9.8 above. Couple years back I had in my head I wanted a signed back panel of Hulk 180 by Herb Trimpe and searched and searched. Finally one came up and jumped on it. Also got Roy Thomas to sign in 2019 at the Washington State Summer Con for added measure. Won't CGC it as it would come back green but this is a purchase I wanted just for myself.
  11. Well, in before the lock. I did briefly meet him in 2019 at the Emerald City Comic Con and thought he was a good enough guy. Took time for everyone in line and was genial and joking. I'll leave art criticism aside as a 3 year old can draw better than I do but got my Deadpool print signed and hanging on the wall.
  12. Right after I hit submit, I went over to Go Collect and looks like they have just updated some FMV so maybe it's a monthly thing.
  13. Anyone know how often Go Collect updates their FMV? Hulk 181 was one that came to mind and also others like X-Men 1 (1963) that seem to adjust almost weekly. For books like that, I've been checking the boards here and then Ebay, etc.
  14. Luckily I only have a few issues of Sub-Mariner to collect and finish off that run. Prior to that I accomplished most of my "wants" in the past year or two. Picked up FF #4 and #6 two years ago and checked those off the want list. My only outstanding right now is X-Men #4 and then I have a complete run from 1 - 143. I kick myself for not picking that one up earlier but for some reason kept putting it off. Now I can do it but will have to work on better positioning spending that much with my wife Other than that, I am now taking the time to get my collection CGC graded as that justifies an increase in value for graded issues. Had been putting that off for awhile but now motivated as things are increasing so rapidly in price and eventually costing more to grade.
  15. I just copy over the grader notes I get to my master list and take it as it is. Seems to be no notes for 9.8 comics but good to know for those below that level.
  16. I purchased a few of these a few months back and used for my key issues in a display case. Works fine as I save my wall space for prints, etc.
  17. I'm good with that (Cap 334), picked up a 9.8 a few years back.
  18. There's hope for my 1.5 Claremont signature series yet.
