I'm still blown away by the WD art I saw at Metropolis tonight. The 1st-tier stuff is truly best of breed...hard to see it going cheaply. I think it will be good for the WD OA market to spread this material out into more hands. It's been largely 2nd and 3rd tier material available for some time (re: stuff that is not going to attract high-end collectors who missed the boat initially); I could see this kind of quality bringing fresh collector interest into the marketplace.
Any chance you would be so kind as to share some photos with those of us that couldn’t make the pilgrimage to witness the display first hand?

Do we really know the long term effects of slabs and comics? CGC has been around since what...2000? Is it on their website a recommended time if you should re-slab?
It was brought up in another thread, but I do believe they mention on the website that it is advisable to change the micro chamber paper every ‘x amount’ of years

High grade all the way!!!

I have a question with combining shipping. I won a book tonight but there's a couple more books I want from this auction that end next week. Can I just wait until next week and pay for all the books at once to save on shipping or should I just go ahead and pay for the one book now?
Yes you can wait till the entire auction is done to pay. Just to be sure call comiclink and speak to Sue in billing , she’s awesome.

Wow! Those storage units are top notch! I must get one. Do you know what the difference is between the Comic cubes and the Comic condos? @NamesJay

I’m in the same boat. I had no idea and I (thought) preferred them because they didn’t have a bp.
Well at least it not 20% like heritage

Clink doesn’t charge a BP so that’s straight sale!
That’s what I thought , I just bought a bunch of stuff from last auction and didn’t notice a bp

Cgc 4.5 on clink with some minor chipping went for $34k with the premium.
Comiclink has a buyers premium!?

No, you didn't. Everybody else misuses the term mightily as a marketing tool. You have The Splash Page, there is only per issue, it's the first page of the issue and can have more than one panel. The other one up for auction is a single-panel page. Everybody else -under the age of 45-50 will now disagree, along with some of the older folks too. But they are wrong. Such is the creep of terminology in everyday use away the actual publishing nomenclature and toward whatever can justify an additional mark-up. The ironic part of it is that this one up for auction doesn't need any juice to sell well!
Now that I did not know.... my vocabulary shall be updated ?

Now that is tremendous! I would be quite enthralled to receive that as a Christmas present!
The splash we (or at least I ) were referring to though was this page, also from xmen 25 were wolverine loses the adamantium.
take naothing away from that masterpiece though, we were discussing the page up for bids in the upcoming auction from wolverine 75 , that is a ‘recap’ of this one. But ya, you have a beautiful piece ?

I think it's been for sale before and more than once. In its current slab, a sale for it is recorded in GPA in May of this year for $102K.
It sort of looks like that 'nick' near the spine may be a case of color touch removal.
You may be on to something there, it didn’t stand out to me at first, but after you mentioned it.......

You are correct. The splash to X-men 25 does exist. I am fortunate to have had this fantastic piece in my possession since Andy got it back from Marvel in Dec. of 1993.
My brother was a friend/agent of his during the early 90's. It was actually a Christmas gift from him that year. Kinda cool. I just thought you would like to know that it is safe and sound hanging on the wall in my bedroom. My wife is very understanding.
Totally awesome! Proof once again how useful these boards are for pertinent information and knowledge for our hobby!! Any chance you would be so kind as to share a photo of it with us?!?

The auction is stocked like a trout farm, and luckily for us looking to add a few pieces to our collections , there is comiclink and heritage auctions, going on at the same time to spread out the bidders!

Bought this issue over twenty years ago...sent it off for grading July 2017, I knew it would grade very high and was very happy to get a CGC 9.8...any idea of value?
20k +- post a pic of it if you don’t mind, it’s one of my favourite issues ?. One sold in the ‘berk’ auction at comicconnect in June for just shy of 25 k, however it’s back on the auction block , so one can speculate that it’s because the buyer fell through as opposed to a flip attempt as it was 5k over fmv at the time. 2 weeks ago 1 sold at comicconnect again for 21k and another sold at comiclink for 17k, however that copy had a front to back miswrap and ow-w Pq.
if yours has white pages and good cover centering (the ‘m’ clearly visible in marvel and sue storms head completely on the front cover in the box on the upper left of cover) then I’d argue 21-22 k

Has anyone run into or heard of any problems regarding humity adversely affecting books as a result of them being stored in a safety deposit box? If so what are the precautions that should be taken to avoid this?
