This IS them spacing it out - the collection is apparently just THAT large and will be spaced out for a number of auctions to come, not just for the next 6 months.

Wow, well it's quite an extensive collection based on what's listed, some one clearly has put a lot of effort into compiling it.

    My consignments have not jumped!

To the consignor for the mcWolverine, feel free to send a commission for helping cause the pre-auction price jump :p  I might be able to use it if my consignments don't move any higher before the auction closes!

What ones do you have up ?

and I have to sit on my hands until a little later in the alphabet to see how my bids hold up before getting on to any more

That's A LOT of Walking Dead....all at once.

    A Lot, A LOT.

    A whole bunch.....simultaneously.

    No spacing.

    A big ole' pile.

    In rapid succession.

No kidding, you would think they would want to space it out over like 6 months or so.. but if you are a fan of walking dead , I would reckon that this would be the ideal time to buy as I'm sure some pages that would otherwise sell for a tidy sum, may be overlooked by people going after the AAA ones. As well as draining their accounts in the process

  4. Lots of killer stuff coming up in the November comicconnect auction , a crazy amount of walking dead stuff and this crazy page from wolverine 75

    http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=707911

it will be interesting to see what goes on price wise with all the walking dead stuff , as there is just soooo much of it , and really key pages to boot! I just hope my girlfriend is ok with getting a few pages for Christmas instead of a Louis Vuitton purse ;)

Whoa!  The Perez Infinity Gauntlet page is already at $8.2K, and the other Perez listing are starting to heat up, too.

Starlin stuff still seems cheap, for the moment.

the Saviuk Web of Spidey cover is at $9.5K.  WTF!!! (shrug)

I was in the running for the ig page initially, but I have a feeling it's going to end at some crazy +11k price. The marvel 2 in one page  is still low but I'm betting it will finish around 10k also

and I'm surprised also the the web of Spider-Man cover is that high also.

Yeah, I'd decided after July that the price multiple for a 9.8 isn't worth it for me and my budget, but that sure is tempting me.

Ms marvel 1 kind of reminds me of batman adventures 12 , but that (ba12) has seen major fluctuations in prices .. and I suspect there will be a lot of 9.8s hitting the market leading up to the films debut, there's another listed in comicconnect s November auction aswell

A Ms Marvel 1 also sold for 1800 on comiclink in July. I had a bid on that, but it's become one of those books that goes for more than retail at online comic auctions even though it's readily available. There's a really nice one for $1599 on eBay right now, and a slightly softer one at mycomicshop for about $1340. Auction prices for X-men 130 have gone this way, too, since the Dazzler announcement. I think it's an interesting phenomenon.

I saw the one on eBay, I'm surprised it's still there, perfect centering and white pages...

    Hi all --

You can normally find me in the Silver Age section, but I just picked this up and wanted to show it off -- it's a book I've been waiting to buy for years.  I've really enjoyed seeing everyone's copy thus far in this thread, so thanks for sharing.  I'm really excited to get this copy; less enthusiastic about having to pay for it. :busy:

    Great centering and page quality!!

Really dumb prices.  $1900 for Ms Marvel 1 when it was "only" $1000-1200 three months ago.

People that think they are going to make money flipping these come movie time are in for a rude awakening.  A 9.6 was only getting $300-350.  Should not be a 500% gap between 9.6/9.8 on a bronze age book.

The ms marvel 1 on comicconnect also sold for 1800 , It s the same thing that happened with af 15 when the Spider-Man movie came out, prices exploded across all grades. I think after wonder woman's success ms marvel 1 will see a jump in prices as the movie approaches.

also relative to other first appearances of characters getting their own films, ms marvel 1 is by far the cheapest , (1500-2000) making it attractive and more affordable for people to purchase in high grades

also in this auction the iron man 55 went for around 7k , when gpa has 12 month average at 5400 and last sale at 4900. The trailer at sdcc most likely has spiked interest in thanos once again. Also there was concept art for ms marvel debuted as well

Some surprisingly good prices right now. Since Tuesday isn't the best day to wrap an auction, I'm hoping to find a bargain or two.

I agree ,,  I just don't want to get my hopes up until after time runs out and I hit the refresh button to see if I've won on said bargains

I don't think we are at that point yet in lower grades to mid grade (5.0 and lower) at 10k per point. Maybe copies with no marvel chipping at all yes.

As for before the ''stampede'' has that not already happened during the last year and now prices are at new normal's for each grade. I don't think we will be seen such intense increases of 200% to 300% for a long while maybe never again (I don't see this happening more than once every 10 to 15 years if at all). We may just go back to the ''normal'' annual increases of 5% to 10% (could be a little more certain years).

I own a CGC 6.5 I am all for a  annual increase of 200% to 300% but that is not realistic at all. I could be wrong maybe some years it will go up 25% to 50% but not every year that is for sure.

There has rarely ever been a collectible (that is already expensive I am not talking about a 5$ thing that moves up to 15$ that there are plenty off) that has increased in value so much over the course of a single year. It is simply not the norm.

I recon that if marvel ever gets the movie rights back to the fantastic four ,,, the same thing will happen with ff1 as it did with af15 this year

Marvel 1 is about 18 months from peaking, and have seen 18 going up recently, but not sure why.  Mystique is not new at this point, and there are rumors will not be in the next X-Men movie.

I gambled on a raw #1 off eBay about 1 year ago, and paid $150. Managed to get a 9.6 on it and the average for those is about $325 to $375 right now.

2 9.8 s just sold on comiclink and comicconnect auctions for 1800 & 1900 last night

is GPA completely worthless now? in reference to AF15 prices, they are so far out of touch with reality that one wonders why waste the eleven dollars per month. comiclink just sold a 7.0 for 125k. GPA has 2 sales of a 7.0 this year for 42 and 65k. about half the real price! similar results appear there in almost all grades. whats a 4.5 worth? less than a 4 apparently. a 5.0 goes for a couple grand more than a 4.0. ugh!!! it's way beyond time they start including comiclink results. do they use comicconnect results at least?

i'm so frustrated by this in particular because i have a 4.0 and would love to upgrade to a 4.5 or a 5.0. but there is no good way to know what each half point is worth at this stage. thoughts?

Gpa uses comicconnect, and the best way to track the values of higher end books is to watch the auctions of heritage , comiclink, and comicconnect, as far as 'auction' prices go , 'retail' asking price normally lands 10-20% above that to give room for negotiations. Sometimes it can be a pain in the keeping up with all of that, but I enjoy it

also once books get into higher $ numbers , it's not as though they are traded/sold on a daily basis, and often when they do sell, it is via private sale .... and most of those aren't reported to gpa
