I don't know about that, the 4.0 was just wrecked by chipping, and it for 27k. That should be a 3 with all that gone. That it sold to someone not on eBay is pretty telling price wise.
I think that's an example of someone buying the grade and not the book, also I think the "20% down , 6 months to pay balance " option helped achieve those numbers

At these prices Hulk 1 is looking real cheap in almost every grade compared to AF15.
You can still get a CGC 4.0 for 14 000$ or less and that has no chipping or almost none at that.
I have a feeling hulk will steal the show in 'ragnarock' , and will probably see some movement in November when the film comes out.
by the way ... comiclink has a nice af 15 7.0 ending tomorrow at 830 pm et

Does 6 months really make that much of a difference if you are a long term collector who's had the books for years or possibly even decades.
Now, if you are a flipper or speculator who's hopping from book to book without having any real money, yeah that would be an issue then.
I'm kind of like a black hole , where as when I buy items for my collection, they rarely leave ,as opposed to flipping them at the next auction/ eBay etc. Especially with higher ticket items , it's very appealing as a buyer to be able to spread the 10-20-30 k spent on an expensive piece for my collection over time, and often has lead me to pay over fmv/ gpa .

ComicConnect AF15 sales this evening.
The CGC 5.5 went for 36 500$ (a lot of Marvel chipping):
http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=731956
The CGC 2.5 went for 16 000$ (Nice front cover back cover has big stain):
http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=735473
The CGC 4.0 went for 27 000$ (a lot of Marvel chipping):
http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=727867
The 5.5 didn't offer the 6 month payment option and the other 2 did , the 4.0 had horrible chipping and dried glue on the cover, in comparison the 5.5 with less chipping went for a steal,, the 2.5 also had the time payment option and went for a strong price.... moral of the story is offer 6 months intrest free payments if you re selling on comic connect

Okay everyone, to those who don't know I live on an Island on the Gulf Coast of Florida (Tampa area). I've been prepping for Hurricane Irma since I got back from Toronto so bear with me and I will invoice everyone shortly. Fan Expo raws will be shipping out tomorrow, Thursday morning. Thursday morning if necessary I will be evacuating with my family North.
Good luck and be safe

Please post more details about those books like the grades and percentages if you don't mind?
If you go to gpa they have comprehensive lists of all the big movers and shakers in a link off the main page

The shots where it's at arms length look really good. They also mixed in B roll of another copy (with chipping) from Heritage's scans it seems like. I'm going to guess it's a 7.5 or so
I think a press could do some good, there looks to be something going on , on the cover by the spine. Anyone in the know would get it graded / pressed, prior to the sale. My assumption is that (without looking up the exact numbers) the gentleman selling it for his client looked into getting it graded, saw the cost (5k + press?) and decided against it... I would think , for maximum exposure/ sale price he would speak to heritage/comiclink/comicconnect etc and let them get it graded , pressed advertised and sold.

Another proud moment for us Canadians , I'm guessing that's a 6-6.5 , not "the 3 Rd most valuable comic in the world"

FF #5 def a book that is still undervalued in some ways. Always a good buy
Agreed, however I always get sidetracked when I want to pick one up with other books

Other then AF 15 increasing in prices so would these and many more.. Amazing SPIDER-MAN 14 in all grades, to Anazing SPIDER-MAN #50 in majority of grades ( a classic Romita) to Fantastic Four #4 which is heating up now big time ( very hard to find in higher grade over 6.0)
With the announcement of the dr doom movie, I would expect ff 5 to start climbing also

It would appear as though asm 1 Is being pulled up as a result of af 15 s strong performance
