Is My All Star Superman Nemesis a Boardie? If So, Sorry!
ExNihilo replied to rob_react's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
Seriously, maybe I should have my full run graded. -
Agreed. Instead of "Incredible Hulk #181" at the top, it should just be graded as "Counterfeit Copy 6.0". Then in the summary it should say something like "re-tells story of Incredible Hulk 181"

FANTASTIC FOUR #48 CLUB : THE INTERGALACTIC BEACH CLUB II
ExNihilo replied to HarveySwick's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
Yes, the White page coloring definitely influenced my decision in the purchasing process. And for whatever reason, I never thought to use Sue's foot as a metric for the bottom of the cover, I always looked at the Watchers which I realize now is a far more imprecise marker. -

FANTASTIC FOUR #48 CLUB : THE INTERGALACTIC BEACH CLUB II
ExNihilo replied to HarveySwick's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
Being a Silver Surfer fan, I decided to finally buy one of my holy grails. Really happy about it, but turns out the case was damaged in transit (side post on that here) Asides from the cracked corner ...and the off-center cover ...and the distribution writing in pencil on the "F"... at least I'm in the club now. -
I bought a copy of FF48 off eBay and was a little bummed to find that the case had been damaged in transit. I'm guessing the condition of the book is otherwise unchanged, but I'm wondering what is the recommended course of action here? I plan to keep the book and have it reholdered, but is there an expectation that the seller is on the hook for the reholdering fees? (messaged the seller who offered to issue a refund to cover shipping/reholdering. ) When submitting to CGC for reholdering, they don't regrade the book right? They just put it in a fresh slab and print out the same label with the same grade? I just don't want to have to worry that the grader is having a bad day and downgrades it. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

The sets of 8 sold out. But you could still buy the sets of 4 individually (ie Set 1 of covers A-D, and Set 2 of covers E-H). It's 7pm PST and both unsigned/signed are still available. -

Part of me wants to get all 8 assuming the sigs will match the color on the cover. I just wish there was a CGC option. Like if i could just list the CGC office as the delivery recipient, that'd be great. As far as faves, I think I like Cover A (OG Marvel Girl), D (X-Factor Marvel Girl), and E (Gold Team Jean Grey). -

I mean, surely 8 covers is excessive right? Don't get me wrong, I appreciate that the covers are at least different as opposed to the previous covers which used the same basic character stances with a few changes to clothing. And I also love that the backs are virgin covers. Okay, and it's cool if the sigs are in the corresponding colors. Aww who am I kidding, I kinda want all 8. https://jscottcampbell.com/products/phoenix-resurrection-the-return-of-jean-grey-1-j-scott-campbell-exclusive?utm_source=J+Scott+Campbell+VIP+List&utm_campaign=ddbaf87bff-PHOENIX_RESURRECTION_1_TEASER_2017&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_d5c14a603b-ddbaf87bff-438611853&mc_cid=ddbaf87bff&mc_eid=076827f24c -

Tier (also list FastTrack where applicable): Modern Number of books: 2 Received: 10/16 Verified: 11/3 Graded: TBD Shipped/Safe: TBD Received (by owner): TBD I clearly got screwed. Seeing other peoples modern (non-FT) books move from Received to Verified in 2 days while mine took 2.5 weeks.

It goes from Received to Verified quickly if you submit FastTrack. I've had a Modern submission (not FastTrack) sitting in received since 10/16. To answer @Inkhead, you can track your submission through the process, but you won't see information such as grading on your books until it passes Grading/Quality Control.

I've never known how to get into this subject, but here goes...
ExNihilo replied to NoMan's topic in Comics General
Jim Lee's Psylocke. (And his Jean Grey. And his Rogue. And Storm. Really just anything Jim Lee.) Mark Bagley, Mary Jane (from the 90's) (and non-comic wise)...April O'Neill -
Weird, the number of people watching doesn't show up for me. Thanks for the extra set of eyes on this.

At worst, I might get the attention of another bidder (if it's legit). At best, I'll save myself the potential headache (if it's a fraud/resto). I'm not good at spotting resto, but I'm wondering what you guys think of this book? The seller's name didn't pop up in the eBay thread, but the fact that it's a big book at a currently low price makes me leery. The fact that it only has 10 bids, of which 4 are from the same user makes me curious if someone is shill bidding just to get the price up. I sent a message asking if the book was restored and was told by the seller that it wasn't, but it's always best to be cautious. So what say the community? From the few spotty images, is there anything that jumps out as resto or would this be worth bidding on? https://www.ebay.com/itm/MARVEL-Comics-IRON-MAN-55-1st-Appearance-THANOS-ULTRA-HIGH-GRADE-9-0-9-2/263273164969?hash=item3d4c4db0a9:g:LiIAAOSwTO9Z6r54

Excelsior Collectibles are his official partners/handlers. When I spoke with them they mentioned they have monthly (i think?) private signings that they do with him. Otherwise, any of the facilitators in the Signature Room will be able to get his sig if they are at a particular event that he also happens to be at. The question is what does his schedule look like for the remainder of the year.

Picked up the Secret Warriors set at a great price inching me closer to completing my Hickman Saga set. Very grateful. Great seller.

I mean the 1st and 4th printing covers don't even look close to the same so it should be easy to figure out who was in the wrong. If CGC was, I'm sure you can call them up and they'll have the book correctly reholdered. In any case, it really doesn't put a whole lot of confidence in their Quality Control department.
