  1. I fall asleep at night dreaming about being the Silver Surfer. I'm willing to become one of the most powerful cosmic beings in the universe while saving humanity. Sure I might have to intermittently serve a greater being, but I feel enough of Surfer's life is just him surfing the spaceways doing as he pleases that it might not be too bad.
  2. Joe Sinnott will be signing at East Coast Comicon April 27-29th. Reach out to @Rich_Henn as he will be attending that show.
  3. To be fair, with Stan's declining eye sight and the fact that he has signed soooo many books in the last few years alone, it's difficult to identify what a Stan Lee sig looks like. I mean, that's why there's an entire thread devoted to Stan's cockroach signatures. That being said, I agree these are all blatantly fake sigs.
  4. I voted 608 2nd print, 612, 613. I loved all the artwork from Hush, but those 3 were the ones that stood out the most.
  5. Now I'm gonna have to go back and re-read the series with this tid-bit in mind and see if I notice anything different.
  6. I sub to the title so my LCS pulls a copy for me each month. But I admit to being easily persuaded by this board at times when people mention first appearances (Spider-Gwen #24) or is hard to find (Mister Miracle #1). So occasionally I'm guilty of picking up an extra issue or two and speculating.
  7. Great, now I can't decide if I should be running to my LCS after work to see if I can snag an extra copy or two.
  8. Well, considering I sent some books in to be signed by him, I sure hope this isn't the case. Whereas his sigs were free before, he must now be charging (since I was quoted a creator sig fee). And also, aren't some facilitators licensed witnesses themselves? So how would he differentiate between a facilitator/witness and just another fan looking for sigs (granted, a facilitator is probably gonna walk up with an armful of books).
  9. Singles promotion starting at 5pm PST today. Might be of interest for people who only liked one cover but didn't want to spend money on a full set. https://jscottcampbell.com/pages/singles-promotion-starts-on-feb-6-at-6-pm-pacific-time?utm_source=J+Scott+Campbell+VIP+List&utm_campaign=3d807c4870-PHOENIX_RESURRECTION_1_TEASER_2017&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_d5c14a603b-3d807c4870-438611853&goal=0_d5c14a603b-3d807c4870-438611853&mc_cid=3d807c4870&mc_eid=076827f24c
  10. Has anyone attempted to report the seller (I know, I know. It probably won't do any good. But I wonder what happens if eBay gets 20 messages from boardies, what happens). https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/resolving-issues-sellers/reporting-item-issue-seller?id=4022
  11. Private Collection for me. I like slabbing major keys that i've wanted since I was a kid because these are books that I'd like to preserve and I just think a slab will offer more protection than a mylar bag/full back. They're also books that I would 100% never open again in order to preserve the grade and it just looks better in the frame than the bag. Also, for books I get signed, CGC SS basically offers up a level of authenticity which might matter 40 years from now should I decide it's time to start moving my collection.
  12. I know eBay's kinda sketch sometimes, but I feel like I lucked out this week. I bought ASM252 and in addition to being sandwiched in cardboard, it turns out the seller sent it bagged, boarded, AND in a plastic toploader. I also bought an East of West set which was advertised to include books 1-30 plus The World one shot. Opened up the box, and the seller had included the full run (to date).
  13. When I received these books raw, I thought they were 9.4 and 9.6 candidates so I elected to have them pressed (it was the first time I've done that). I was hoping for a slight uptick to 9.6 and 9.8 (respectively) so was really happy when both books came back at 9.8. Makes me wish I had all my other books pressed. Thanks @Kevlar!!

  15. I guess my question then for those who are able to piece together the full story from OP and from the store, is there enough evidence to warrant addition on the probation (or some other warning list)? I realize OP only created the profile to post here and has barely said anything since and most likely won't be buying and selling here, but perhaps even the eBay blocked user list if their username could be determined.
  16. Don't look for raw 9.8's on eBay. Even looking at pictures, I think I got mostly 9.4's. Maybe 9.6 here and there. The only time I've bought a raw 9.8 off eBay was books straight from a Diamond Distributor box. The only surefire way to get a 9.8 on eBay is to just buy a slab.
  17. I'm definitely still confused, but at this point it doesn't matter. I do however feel like the comic store is the one left out in the cold. But hopefully their insurance can cover them.
  18. That makes sense. So I should still be sending everything I normally would (windowed bag and final bag to be used when sent to CGC). Thanks!
  19. So I always refer to @mschmidt wonderful guide on how to prepare raw books for SS. But I am now preparing to send already slabbed CGC SS books to get remaining creator signatures on a variety of books. My question is how do I prepare these books? Considering the books cannot be removed from their slabs until before the show, and it's difficult to prepare a windowed bag, what do you do in this situation? What do you send along with your books to help make the life of your favorite facilitators better? Thanks in advance for the helpful advice.
  20. Head to the CGC booth and request a witness. A CGC witness will accompany you and your book to whomever is signing. The creator signs the book (under the watchful gaze of the CGC witness) and then you both walk back to the CGC booth where you fill out the paperwork and have your book submitted to CGC for grading.

  22. I had 2 Modern FT go from "At CCS" on 12/22 to "Received" (assuming CGC Received) on 1/4. That's only 7(ish) business days when the website says Modern FT is about 35 days. Is that normal?
