  1. Might be time to maintain an official list of accounts in the probation sub BEWARE Ben67 SCAMMER - Comics Market - Want To Buy! - CGC Comic Book Collectors Chat Boards (cgccomics.com)
  2. Why would you want that? Is there value in single pages? I'd much rather just take it to the framers and have it mounted behind museum glass.
  3. Is it time to just put an official sticky note at the top of this sub-forum to address this question? It's asked almost on the daily. Perhaps lock it to admin comments and then provide a weekly update on what date packages are being opened/logged for so customers have an expectation of when they should begin to see it in their Submissions page.
  4. Just out of curiosity, is there a notepad or something within the CGC profile to maintain a personal probation list? Something that's easier to cross reference. Or do you guys just maintain a word file on your computer/Google docs?
  5. That's an understatement. I don't think anyone here is going to be able to provide a definitive response. You might want to call/email CGC directly. Also, not that my opinion matters, but I don't see the value in adding Chris Evans sig on that particular book. Other than the loose connection between Infinity War (movie) and Infinity Gauntlet (book), it's not like Chris actually did anything on that book nor is Captain America featured on the cover. Just my .
  6. I wish there was a collection database mobile app that did not require a subscription. I know the CLZ app used to have an option for a one time payment. I remember thinking to myself I had never purchased an app before and wasn't about to, but now I wish I had.
  7. The check has been shredded. The e-check is still pending. @BuscemasAvengers books should be in the mail with a tracking number now I believe.
  8. Holy smokes, some guy out there has the entire cover spread?!?!
  9. So you're saying my collection of Maxim's are worthless.
  10. God that's terrible. As a writer, how can you be proud of that? Growing up, we'd always imagine our own heroes and villains but we always wanted to give them cool names. Like I always thought Dreadnought would make for a cool darker/possessed Juggernaut. Or Man-O-War for some other character. Sure, they're not deep thoughtful names, but they stir up the child in me which first and foremost wanted a character to be cool.
  11. Just read this issue last night. I hope Booth does a few more interiors during Hickman's run.
  12. Vampire the Masquerade, David Mack variants. I dabbled in the role playing game back in my younger days and really loved The World of Darkness that was established. The source material was always fun to read so picking up the series was an easy decision. Picking up these gorgeous David Mack variants was a no brainer.
  13. A common question of late. There have been several threads on this (at least one per day) and someone tried to colate everything into one but I can't seem to find it now. Basically CGC is super behind opening packages. Just the other day they were still opening and logging packages received Feb 8-14th. Basically, your books have likely been received and are sitting in storage at CGC unopened, waiting to be logged. At this point, it's a waiting game and just requires A LOT of patience.
  14. In IntrovertedGamer's defense, I actually posted that shortly after seeing his/her post. The question gets asked so frequently I just thought I'd try to make a definitive post that could be pinned to hopefully prevent a few future similar posts, because it really does get asked several times a week. (And sadly, it'll be asked here, the General sub, or the Signature Series sub.)
  15. My office is in my collectible space. I have three art prints prominently displayed on one wall (behind museum glass) that I can't leave the room without seeing them in passing. My books are filed away neatly on bookshelves. I get a shipment of new books once a month, read them, file them away. CGC books are tucked away in two longboxes and I've considered buying some UV protected display cases so I can put some on a shelf/wall for viewing, but the neurotic side of me is still nervous about the long term effect of UV (despite there being no direct sunlight in the room, only the ambiant glow from an LED light bulb). I've considered hi-res scans/prints of my CGC books and displaying those, but in the end, my brain always decides that money is better off being put towards the next key.
  16. Unfamiliar with pressing rates, but I thought they were $12.
  17. I've had otherwise flawless books pressed back when I was just a fresh green eyed guppy. I really wanted the highest grade possible on some books so I had them pressed. But that was 2 books. Not 40.
  18. Apparently people found a way to troll other users simply with emoji's, so now none of us get to play with those emoji's. Something about banned users.
  19. Personally, if you're able to find a person or business based on their eBay store front and reach out to them outside of eBay, I believe that should be okay. Contacting a person through eBay PM's in order to request to conduct business outside of eBay is against the T&C's. I remember a previous discussion and there were a number of people who felt eBay deserved a cut no matter what because only through them were buyer/seller able to find each other. Others argued that eBay was an evil corporation and there was nothing wrong with messaging outside the platform to initiate sales. To each their own.
  20. This could be the first time rock beat paper.
  21. (Any chance we can just get a sticky for this or even start a pinned FAQ for the most asked questions?) The short version: CGC Signature Series | CGC Private Signings | CGC (cgccomics.com) "These labels will generally be issued only to items signed under the direct observation of a CGC representative. In select instances, CGC may accept signed books directly from the signer or publisher." The long version: Signature Series (yellow) label will only be given for books witnessed by authorized CGC reps. The only exception is in the case of creators directly submitting books along with creator forms to CGC. Books previously submitted for signature series can be cracked under the supervision of an authorized CGC rep, signed by another creator, and re-slabbed to maintain a signature series label. Emphasis on "under the supervision of an authorized CGC rep". Any yellow label books cracked without proper supervision will break the chain of witnesses and the original signature will no longer qualify for signature series. Unwitnessed books with a COA do not qualify for a yellow label. Any unwitnessed signed books will be graded as a Qualified (green) label as though the signature was not there. You can also submit for a blue label, but the signature will count as damage and lower the grade of the book. Why is this CGCs policy? Because it's the only way to ensure the authenticity and integrity of the Signature Series program.
  22. That's a lot cheaper than I was expecting. I dunno why, but in my head I had visions of the prices being closer to $193/month. If that's the annual rate, then I'll have to begin seriously looking into it for my collection as well. Thanks.
  23. I'm just curious what the annual rates are. With the valuation of books and collectibles on the rise, how much are we looking at to cover $10k in books? $20k?
