  1. Yep, that's the one. I thought that was too modern for kane lol. Thanks for the response anyways
  2. Ty. Is that the one next to the crime illus. piece? I would've never expected g. kane
  3. Any info on that Captain Marvel piece at Albert's in the first pic?
  4. Those Miyazawa pages are great. Missed the drop by one day and most the stuff i was interested in was gone
  5. Glad to gear you had such a great experience. Probably half of mine are frustrating in some manner. (In fact, I'm waiting on a response as we speak on a few pieces i inquired about last week) Feel like i have to beg reps to take my money at times. It can really sap the fun out of the hobby, so it's nice to be reminded there's still some good out there
  6. Did you buy direct from Ron? I follow his Instagram but haven't seen who/where to contact about OA/commisions
  7. Tom at Fanfare used to be his rep, but retired a few months back. You could try and get in touch with him (through the old site) and see if he has any contact info for Greg. I spoke with Greg at Heroes back in June and at that point he hadn't decided what his next move would be regarding sales.
  8. I thought the consensus on here was exposure lowers value
  9. Thanks for the kind comments. I recognized you from that DWJ complete issue you have. I remember you posting on here about that, and how excited you were. I used to be into collected editions but sold most of them off earlier this year, so i haven't read many comics in the last 6 months or so. Creator-owned was where it was at for me mostly the last several years. Image, Dark Horse, etc have been a great avenue for creators to flex their creative muscles. I had that WW commissioned at Heroes this year. Matteo is a cool dude, even though his prices jumped considerably this year. I won't hold that against him
  10. Mostly modern/current superhero stuff. I don't have much affinity for pre '90 or so (and most of that nostalgic sweet spot is out of my range unfortunately). Started out collecting covers mostly, but have gotten into panel pages more so recently. CAF Link
  11. I live about 20 min NE of Charlotte. I work weekends however, so my availability is suspect. But we are around lol!!
  12. My 3 All Star Batman covers. 1st one by Declan Shalvey... ...and the others by Rafael Albuquerque
  13. Try and keep the thread revival going Detective Comics #956 variant by Rafael Albuquerque I got a week or so ago CAF link
  14. Just grabbed this Jeremy Haun Batwoman page off Cadence. Not sure who's all aware, but Jeremy's family suffered a tragedy (his wife's sister and cousin's lives were taken by a drunk driver) and he's currently raising funds for travel/related expenses. He's opened up a special commissions list and placed his art on sale for the time being, so check it out if interested!!
  15. Spawn #299 sold over 60k according to July numbers, so it's doing fine . Those August numbers must be for subsequent printings or residual sales
  16. That's what i don't get though. In a competitive market, why would some of the biggest names settle for armchair representation? They're basically doing the reps a favor (by allowing them a cut) in my eyes. Anyone with internet access could sell their pages lol. I guess what it boils down to is, as i jumped into a next level hobby (financially speaking) i expected more considering the money tossed around. It's almost like 1k, 3k or 10k has lost it's significance in regards to artwork. I've had a few several thousand dollar orders (by different reps) mailed without tracking provided? I mean, what normal person so casually handles transactions of that sort? Another purchase, it took the rep almost 3 weeks to figure out he didn't have the piece i had already inquired about, negotiated and paid for lol.
  17. I'll chime in with some of the same. Pieces without a price/inquire is a pass. As someone who's only been in the hobby for about 3 years, it still boggles my mind how casual some of the reps treat their business. Like it's a side gig they'll get to when it's convenient, not keeping up with inventory, etc. I realize a lot of pieces sell themselves to an extent, but c'mon. I'd be pissed as an artist if i knew how lax my rep was being towards sales, especially with the amount of money involved. But maybe they put a higher priority on things like con appearances & travel accommodations (not sure if this is standard for rep services)
  18. I don't think anyone has an issue waiting, it's the lack of communication that is the problem. In Paolo's defense, he did have a family emergency, but when you run a business you should have contingencies in place, and in today's day and age it takes seconds to receive and respond. There's really no great excuse for a week to pass without contact

  20. Ok good to know. Before i placed a bid, they had a section on how to pay that mentioned cashiers check/mo, echeck or account credit, but didn't see a mention of cc.
  21. So does Heritage not accept credit card as payment? First time bidding there and noticed that. Funny how Clink makes you have one on file, and then Heritage doesn't give the option
  22. This is the scenario everyone hopes for when they send a piece off to auction lol. Seem to remember this happening with that Deodato Elektra cover on Ebay or wherever last year
  23. Yeah, this is great. One of the better jams I've seen. Congrats!
  24. I never expected to have many pieces, so i consciously spread the wealth around when it came to characters 1. Spider-man (4) 2. Black Cat (including Felicia) (3) 3. Eight tied at (2) (Daredevil, Venom, Batman, Psylocke, Rachel Grey, Jessica Cruz, Hulk & Thor)
  25. I've had success negotiating with Paolo in the past, as long as it's not new to market. Also, bundling a couple items seems to make reps more willing to deal in general
