Can you imagine a $75M budget? It's too bad they ghosted Grant Gustin, he'd be coming in handy on a budget like that.
Gunn could attempt to sell some ads, the way MoS subsidized 2/3 of its own budget.
Grant Gustin ain't gonna be a movie star, stop trying to make it happen.

That's a great point.
It's gonna be 'fun' to see what Gunn gives himself & crew for Superman: Legacy. Anyone wanna try to convince me that it deserves more than $75 MM when DC Films haven't hit the black since 2018?

Is there any sort of adjustments being accounted for towards people who just aren't going to the theater to see movies? I mean, there was a Forbes article from last year stating 55% of people are more comfortable watching a movie at home - of which I am one of those people. I have a nice setup (as do a lot of people) and I simply stopped going to the movie theater years ago (Endgame was the last movie I saw in a theater), opting to wait. I don't care if Hollywood says "only in theaters!" - I can wait it out.
I mean, that should be adjusted for at the budget level.

It seems the opening credits were made using AI art. Article from polygon.com is HERE
It seems a bit "gimmicky" to me, but I'm not the one making the show.
Lame, but it fits what the series should be about, so a rare pass may be in order.

Is there any shot I can reach out to Comic Connect to see if they have additional records/provenance supporting that it's from cage collection?
Could be worth a shot.

Do I need to re-bag these in the bags provided by CGC's shipping kit, or can I submit them in their original bags?
No.

My TDKR books are in different thicknesses, all graded in 2016.

What I think was going on was this--
- Most of this movie was filmed when Cavill and the studio were on the outs. Remember the big deal when the Rock brow-beat DC into bringing Cavill back for the Black Adam cameo? (only to have that reunion fall apart shortly after Black Adam's release).
- Supposedly there was an alternative ending scene shot more recently that included Cavill in the picture when Barry returned from his multiverse travels, but that scene wasn't used when it became clear Cavill would not be part of Gunn's universe going forward. No sense to (again!) tease something that won't come to fruition.
Cavill was already in the ending, yes, but he was also originally in the beginning in a non-faceless role. They didn't need to add him, they just needed to not remove him.

Worst opening 7 minutes I have ever seen. Apparently the critics like it as it has a score of 89% on RT, but the audience score is only 50%.

I had a couple of friends say it was decent. They must have been drunk or stoned with nothing better to do when they watched it.
I suspect that Love and Thunder is worse.

Since it's potentially a high value book - I think I have to become a member at the Elite level - is this right?
Nope. Only the submission tier matters when submitting books. Choose whichever membership tier suits you best. The Premium includes a grading credit, and the Elite offers a 10% discount on grading in addition to the grading credit.

Is it worse than the Green Knight? I dropped that one after 7 mins, which was giving it a huge chance as I was ready to drop it after the first couple of minutes.
I don't even know what "Green Knight" is.

I haven’t seen it.
Is she actually in it or is it just a cameo that hints she’ll be back in a big way next film (like when we learned Letty was still alive)?
It was a joke.

Gadot's also in a much stronger negotiating position than she was during the filming of WW 1984.
She's proven herself in such non-Wonder Woman roles as Death on the Nile and Red Notice.
You forgot about Fast X.

I guess it boils down to the same thing. What do people want to hear? Stan Lee, Stanley Lieber was a . Cool, okay... yeah, great. What has that solved?
Is this going to dissolve his public opinion? No.
Will the comments and opinions of Jack Kirby's kid resonate with anyone that doesn't already know? No.
Outside of this being conflict for the sake of conflict, will this have any impact whatsoever? No.
What I found fascinating, is that Neal Kirby couldn't help himself too, on using all of these hyperbolic statements in his reply. If it's credit he is looking for, (otherwise, why bother saying anything at all), then you won't build credit by creating this fantasy world that no one's going to believe in the first place.
Jack Kirby, the king of comics, worked tirelessly at his desk, living off only cigarettes and coffee, evident from the cloud of smoke emanating from our basement, otherwise known as The Dungeon... My father, the king of comics, the modern Michelangelo! Sculpting our modern day Marvel Family, pushed on, beyond his own ego... Egoless in fact, was the great King Kirby, my father... crafting greatness..
Yeah, we get it. Nothing like Stan Lee at all.
His interjection felt exactly like that, to me, of one who simply aims to stir up drama for attention.
That being said, he also deserves his own opinion. I doubt that I'm going to watch the movie, but there's at least some truth to his gripes.
I'm simply as sick of the Stan Lee vs Kirby s**t as I am of the MCU vs DCEU s**t. They both have their positives and their negatives.

Would it be fair to day BvS made money, but in the eyes of the general public underperformed, when it was positioned as DC's Avengers? This was expected to be a $1 billion plus film, and really push as such. Plus, with two of the biggest comic characters together foe the first time, that in and of itself was expected to drive this film.
It would be fair if the movie wasn't butchered a few weeks prior to release by the studio, just to fit in more showings. I can't see how it's fair to sabotage a product and then expect your random quota to be met.

But as far as it being coined by him - afraid not. That phrase had been around for a lot longer than Stan. In fact, one of Boston's players in the 1903 World Series (the first one!) had it as a nickname, albeit with a different spelling, but still...: Michael T. McGreevy - Wikipedia
One more example of giving him credit for something he didn't create!
While Stan Lee may not have actually coined the term, it's possible that he's the most famous figure to have repeated it frequently.

I'm still going to see it for my own experience opinion. But it would be a shame after all this time (including all the creative staff changes and leadership shifts) if DC Studios wasted a chance to make this a general win under the new banner.
At least the WB Studios co-CEOs were going for a stronger plan before the co-DC Studios announcement.
I get that time is $$$$$, and completing VFX takes time, and they didn't want to spend any more money on this movie... But IMO they did waste this chance by releasing an incomplete product. Maybe it'll look better in 4K on my smaller screen, otherwise I hope it's "remastered" to completion in the future.

That 2nd one probably isn't a 9.6, if it ever was. Obvious spine tic in Pic #3. The other 2 may be obvious from the back covers.

Something maybe lost in the discourse of the movie... I asked both of my parents if this movie clarified anything going from the DCEU to James Gunn's DCU... "Not at all."
My guess? Perhaps all of the DCU movies will reference The Flash at the beginning, to show how/why the character is different. It won't work for me, but maybe it could work for the audience they intend on attracting.
-
Something that hit me yesterday when I was briefly discussing the movie with my friends... I think that James Gunn 'pulled an MCU' by hyping this movie up as "one of the best"; Something Marvel has been regurgitating for awhile for every single movie they release. Borrowed a trick from Feige's book, but audiences generally don't enjoy being lied to. Gotta be a negative going forward for his universe.
