  1. I completely understand your outlook, FYI. Her character in the trailers hasn't made me feel like she's a very compelling character. Her character isn't turning me off to the movie, though. I think it's intentional, though. I think she's acting stiff for a reason, and I think that at some point in the movie this is going to change immensely (as an underlying important character arc). If I'm wrong, then her character will just be a piece of cardboard that fails to replace Iron Man as the face of the MCU. Do you plan on seeing this in theaters? Most people probably are, despite the casting, because of how important she'll be to Endgame. So maybe a rhetorical question.
  2. Considering that the Modern Age includes the 90's - I can't say that I despise them - because that decade has a ton of great stories that I love. The 2010's are awful, though. It's so difficult for me to find a series that has both great artwork and a great story. I think I even made a topic about this a few months ago. Superman and Action Comics are only a couple of (ongoing) titles that interest me. There are some limited series/crossovers that are great, but they're very few and far between. IMO, back in the days, it wasn't difficult at all to find a compelling book. I didn't live then, but when I rifle through the pre-modern books at the 3 LCS near me, they all look good and read well. At least, there's nothing that turns me off right away, unlike current titles that do so very easily. I think it's a matter of talent being spread too thin. There are too many titles. IMO they need to consolidate artists and writers so that every book has two-way value of visual and story appeal. DC seems to have a decent amount of titles that do this. Marvel is extremely disappointing to me in this regard.
  3. Right before Thanos rips it in half and kills The Avengers. I really wanna see that Age of Ultron nightmare come true.
  4. Rouge One (Honest Trailers, anyone?) isn't great. It's your prototypical war flick. If you love Star Wars and war films, though, it's probably great to you (my best friend falls into this group). The characters aren't compelling like WWI/WWII characters can be, though. K2S0 is the best of the bunch, and it's a robot... It's better than TLJ AINEC. It closes the major plot hole of A New Hope. It shows the Best of Darth Vader. It has things going for it. Anyone who loves the original trilogy, IMO, should see Rogue One. It's worth a watch or two. Any new bags o' drek - I mean, mystery bags, Swami? Those are a hoot.
  5. I won that auction where the seller raised the BIN price by $50 and shipping from Free to $20. Someone tried to snipe me in the last few minutes with a bid of $325, but I wasn't having it. It's a lot of all 10 Spawn Origins Hardcover books. 7 of which are 1st Editions. $330+$20(ship) is a steal IMO. I already have 1st Editions of Books 2, 9, & 10 (clearance for $7.50/ea at a local book store). Now I need #1 and #4. Do people sell TPBs and HCs/Omnis here? I looked on Friday but couldn't really find anything related. LMK please.
  6. Don't you understand? It's because she's a her! You gotta be PC! I'm not 'hyped' because it's Brie Larson. I'm hyped just because it's Marvel Studios. With Jude Law, Samuel L. Jackson, etc as a supporting cast there's much more to this than just the title character's actor/actress. Her taking over as the face of the MCU beginning in Phase 4, her importance to Endgame, etc... Marvel Studios is moving in a direction to where they're casting more 'unknown' people to play heroes and they're more interested in A-list celebrities portraying villains. I haven't seen much of Brie so that fits the bill here to me.
  7. Did you see 21 Jump Street? She sounds the same to me.
  8. Get a mop bucket: I haven't read most of my TPBs, let alone my single issues.
  9. All excitement is invested in Endgame. I'm sure I'll enjoy this the couple of times that I have tickets for it, but until I'm in-theater, this one's on the back-burner in my head.
  10. I was disappointed in the lack of Trench use. IMO it was a section of the film that capitalized on Wan's directorial background the best. Them being the next antagonist? Not sure it makes much sense when Aquaman can command them with Atlan's trident.
  11. IIRC, Gyllenhaal has no interest in playing a long-term comic book property. When he was cast for Spider-Man: Far from Home, pretty much everyone was surprised. He said that he is interested in playing a villain, though, since they usually bite the dust. I don't think any of those 3 have a chance at Batman.
  12. I was obsessed with last year's Super Bowl spot, and this one is no exception. The tone looks so Snyderesque. The Russo Bros. are just awesome. It was easy for me to overlook this (multiple times): Cap gets his f^&*ing shield back!
