  1. I don't think there's a name. He gathered that group at the end of Age of Ultron. "This is SHIELD?" Pietro said. "This is what SHIELD was supposed to be." Responded Cap.
  2. You're not wrong. I'm not questioning her ability to fight in combat. I'd just like a scope of her powers. They were kinda just shoehorned in and used randomly. Part of my "underwhelming 3rd Act" assessment. I think Ant-Man and the Wasp was probably a better Avengers-to-Avengers film.
  3. Why? Because they're bringing in a character after midnight who will allegedly tip the scales in the favor of our heroes? Why not? Is the better question. Otherwise it's just another McGuffin in the Phase of McGuffins for McGuffin sake. that would be the epitome of crappy storytelling. Name me another character aside from Scarlett Witch who does not have transparency regarding their abilities. I'll wait. I must have an explanation for anyone's powers. Female, male, or android. Especially one being brought in past midnight that will allegedly put antagonists on the winning side of conflict with "the most powerful being in the universe" that has the Infinity Gauntlet and all 6 stones. There can only be so much suspension of belief for an immersive escapism experience. You're easily the most "vocal" person here regarding her gender. You're creating a strawman to argue against. I'm not making that argument and neither is anyone else from what I can read.
  4. I just got back from another 2 week suspension. This time for posting, "sick burn professor". Decide for yourselves whether or not that makes any sense. I'll probably get banned for this post, too. See you in 2 weeks!
  5. It's a little better 2nd time around. The Stan Lee tribute hits a little harder, though. I'd bring a tissue. The 3rd Act is also more of a letdown, though, too. It was kind of a weird experience. All of the good/great stuff, along with the bad, felt magnified. The writing was really inconsistent. It reminds me of Wonder Woman, which was 2 hours of fantastic storytelling and development, with a final showdown that just sabotages itself.
  6. This is good advice. I would do the trade without the cash transaction. That's just me being big on X-Men and not big on the Hulk. Slabs only or don't trade IMO.
  7. The problem is that we haven't been shown what her powers are or how they even work. We know what Thor can do and why. If Captain Marvel is a bigger "key" than Thor, as far as brute strength/power goes, then it poses a problem. I don't think that people have a problem with a super-powered female as you keep suggesting. A God with a God's weapon almost killed Thanos were it not for his need to have that "told you so" moment. Hopefully Feige was just misleading us, again, when he said she's the "most powerful hero in the MCU". Some people have biological reasons, training, and war experience that should outweigh the strength of a hero who is otherwise nothing special beyond happenstance.
  8. You don't have any truly awful movies on here, but the lack of Man of Steel makes me sad. It's criminally underrated.
  9. I had to buy an expensive set of playing cards recently, so my haul is weak: Mythology: The DC Comics Art of Alex Ross Marvelocity: The Marvel Comics Art of Alex Ross DC's New Frontier TPB
  10. Premature elimination for me. I couldn't get my grades in by the deadline yesterday.
  11. Kind of a let down considering how important the character is, allegedly, to the success of the heroes finishing Phase 3.
  12. I saw it on Thursday and Friday. Liked it a little better 2nd time around, but it's still just a solid 4/5 for me. It has a lackluster 3rd Act and some questionable storytelling. Middle of the pack MCU film. Edit: Despite the "meh" trailers for her acting/character, Brie Larson did a good job.
  13. All I care about is comic book fans' perspectives. I couldn't care less about general audiences at this point. Comic book movies should be made for comic book fans. That's the end of my debate there.
  14. Spider-Man has Cap's strength, character and moral, and then some. Cap is not special, and as we saw in both Civil War and Infinity War, he's detrimental to the success of the greater good because of his selfishness. Let's hope he learned a thing or two from The Decimation that he was directly a cause of. I'm not going to dissect the rest of your reply, because we have fundamental differences in opinion. Regardless - Captain Marvel is going to make a difference. And IMO should.
  15. You're assuming that they're going to resurrect the characters, but we have literally no understanding of how or when that will even happen. Thanos has all 6 stones. He only had 4 on Titan. The fact that you consider Danvers and Warlock "just muscle" forces me to back out of this discussion. They are far beyond the actual "muscle" of Captain America. They have power.
  16. Without some of the most powerful Avengers? Doctor Strange, Vision, Spider-Man..? Not a freaking chance in hell. In case we've forgotten who's left: The Original 6, War Machine, Ant-Man, Rocket, and Nebula. That simply is not enough. Thor and Hulk are really the only special guys on that roster - biologically. They need Captain Marvel and more (Adam Warlock ).
  17. If the "current" heroes couldn't defeat him in Infinity War, why the hell should they be able to do so in Endgame..? Even if Thor did go for the head this time, the Russo Bros already said that the Infinity Gauntlet can fend off Stormbreaker if Thanos doesn't underestimate its power. It's gonna take more than who we're already seen to take him down. Captain Marvel and Adam Warlock would be a good place to start tipping the scales in the direction of heroes' victory. Edit: And we have literally half of the heroes at the beginning of this story as opposed to IW, so the odds are even worse with what's left. They need more (and more powerful) characters this time around.
  18. Is Gerber an SJW, though? That hashtag doesn't give me good vibes, since it's a quote from the elitist-feminist Super Bowl TV Spot that I didn't particularly care for. Edit: He's one of the guys that replaced the Superhero News trio. Not really a fan of his TBH. He doesn't irk me, though.
  19. "Thanos is the most powerful being in the universe." This was after he lost the scepter and had 0 Infinity Stones to his name, and the Kree knew about Captain Marvel at the time, since this was set in the 90's and GotG was in 2014. I'm not a fan of Captain Marvel being more powerful than Thor in this universe. Unfortunately, that seems to be the case, though. I would think the God-King of Asgard + Stormbreaker can't be matched hero-wise.
  20. Is that the color you get when you mix silver with magenta?
  21. No, he smells what The Rock. Is. Cookin'.
