bought a page of original art- issue #2 pg 16. rob gets no points for helping me to decide between two pages i was interested in.
-
Both the #35 and #38 sold back in 2007 for $500 less than what we paid for them. GPA actually came in handy for once. I'd say whoever was the original owner made a nice profit off of us.
How do you know it was these exact same copies? GPA has no serial numbers for the sales you're referencing.
And yea, the 63 was me -- I don't think a more perfect copy of that issue is possible. Perfect centering, perfect PQ...that issue is tooooo often miswrapped, this is the first nicely wrapped 9.6 I've ever seen, at least from 2000 to 2005 and in 2009, I wasn't even looking from 2006 to 2008.
tis a beauty. i like mine too.

and that's the sound of the deadpool movie imploding you hear in the background

If he can act, then it might not be a bad idea. This would bring a lot of hype to the movie.........and run up prices on the keys.
continuing OT: don't know if he can act but can you just hear him belting out "in brightest day..." in falsetto. looks like they've narrowed it down to: bradley cooper, ryan reynolds and timberlake. timberlake, w/ that haircut, looks more like guy gardner than hal jordan.

Am I the only one thinking that the market for slabbed Chew is going to drop just as fast as the recalled ASBR's?
no

Thanks Guys! Do you think there are more speculators gunning for GL because of the upcoming movie?
the only "gunning" that's going to happen is for the guy's head that greenlights this idea. http://www.aintitcoolnews.com/node/41645

My LCS ordered the second print of #1, but they weren't invoiced for it yet, and didn't get any today. I'm guessing probably next week, I don't think anyone got them yet
i heard they were getting them in the west coast first...
not today- neither store had them
-
i'm at my LCS today and there're like 30 copies of Chew #2 on the rack so i think to myself "guess this one isn't going to be hard to find." i picked out two copies and then the next guy grabs 20 copies. he sees that i've got a copy and says "you picked up chew. cool" and i'm thinking "dang, that should've been me w/ the 20 copies." then he goes "want me to sign it?" i must've had a dumbstruck expression on my face cause the LCS owner wanders over and says "that's john" as in john layman the writer. got him to sign my two copies and got some info- issue #1 print run was 6,000, issue #2 was 9,000. the second print of #1 will be 3,000. he said that #2 was a set up issue and the story really takes off in #3. he has 25 issues planned and if it's successful thinks it'll go to #50. oh, and i tried to grab a couple more but the LCS owner gave me the stiff arm.

Honestly though, I don't think there is a lot of interest in 100 pagers anymore.
other than the 3 of you, was there ever any interest?
-
all the $10-20 ones are gone. $36 bin's now.
"a fool and his money..."

liked it. i'm in for the first arc.

I know it's not April but is this a joke? TFL just got $20 from comicseekers for a loose from backing out of a deal.
If whats good for the goose is good for the gander, TFL just cost Filter $2000 from a lost sale.
the hypocrisy in TFL's posts re the $20 is mindboggling given the $25k shafting he gave Adam

OK, generally speaking, never had this problem on the boards before, but I have a customer who made a 1550.00 offer on 2 books, I agreed to the price, he told me that international money transfer through paypal takes a little while, then finally today tells me he doesn't have enough funds to purchase the 2 books and that he will pass.
What do I need to do to submit a name for probation on the forum and should I put this guy on the probation list? I hate to do it personally, as I guess he
probably legitimately doesn't have enough money, but he didn't even offer to just pick up one of the books, he just said he will pass on both.
how much time passed between the deal being struck and being told he would take a pass? based on "finally"- sounds like a while. if that's the case, i'd out him. if it was a week or so, personally, i'd grind my teeth and hold my tongue.
No, it has probably been right at 3 weeks now. He had me on hold waiting for a paypal transfer that never happened.
it's a tough call but to protect everyone else here, i'd out him. he could decide to air his mea culpa here and everyone could decide if they wanted to deal w/ him going forward based on his response. my
