  1. https://www.myslabs.com/slab/view/387832/ https://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Spider-Man-124-CGC-9-6-/274966385170?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0 https://www.comiclink.com/itemdetail.asp?id=1522157 Thanks for looking!
  2. Yeah that seems like an interesting way of looking at it but it is funny as hell
  3. Nice man! Hope you had a fun day! First convention in TX since last year?
  4. There's always the option of auctioning off your big keys (not on Ebay) and replacing them with lower grades. Do you really want to liquidate? Sounds like the motivation is more financial opportunity than wanting to get rid of your books. If you have enough huge keys slabbed in NM grades, replacing them with 6.0s for example can still bring in a healthy sum. The chances of you experiencing a vacuum caused by selling everything is greater than the chances these keys depreciate.
  5. Very true about pre bidding. I hate participating in auctions because they're so nerve wracking. Whenever I have its because I reeeely wanted it. The way I approach it is I mentally get ready to go above and beyond the all time high but only at the very end and not a moment sooner. Only do this if you're comfortable "over paying" for what you feel is worth it. If I'm throwing a hail mary I'll put in what I'm willing to pay well before the end. I've only lost 2 auctions that I was going all in on, one on Clink by a hair on a cva book and one on Ebay on an ASM 332 9.8 in which looking back they did me a favor. One time I got caught in a bidding war on CC with a 9.6 IM going for a ridiculous price. It went for like 5 extended sessions. This was years ago and I haven't seen a comparable copy since even though I overpayed. I don't care I'm not going to ever sell it. Mostly I haven't over payed but a few times things got ugly. But if you want to glean how badly someone is charging for it you can sometimes tell on Ebay by checking the bid history. When the same bidder is having automatic bids repeatedly topping others that's an obvious sign someone's pining. Anyway I try and avoid auctions to keep my stress level down
  6. Oof...but then again you don't know what the top bid maximum was. Have you found one since? An 8.5 auctioned on Ebay last night.
  7. I've had this for some years now. I think someone posted some artwork from this issue some pages back. It deserves a post here
  8. The questions are valid but I guess I'm just weary of jumping on to the conspiracy bandwagon. Its always easy to throw out wild accusations and assume nefarious behavior without solid evidence. No it's not healthy to have this manipulation going on of course not! Its also not healthy for a large swath of collectors to presume a huge conspiracy every time HA has great results. The questions should be there but kept in context
  9. Agree 100% with this. People keep knocking the reason these books are appreciating be it spec or whatever. What difference does it make why a value increase happens? If you're looking to sell something that's seen a substantial increase your not going to shortchange yourself because you think people might be buying for dubious reasons. If you own something of increased value are you going to look down on it because you theorize maybe there's a bunch of reckless buyers out there? They may or may not be reckless that's a matter of opinion. Who's to know for sure whether these reasons for market trends are dubious If you wanna buy then waiting for a cool down period could make sense but anticipating bargain basement due to the always impending "crash" is not terribly realistic. The doomsday scenario has been on the docket now for as long as anyone can remember.
  10. I thought we've been questioning the validity for a couple of years now? It would have to be shilling on a massive scale. I get some healthy skepticism but this would be difficult to pull off successfully on so many books. Almost everything went through the roof. And it's not like the Clink stuff hasn't been on the high side lately. Just anecdotally, three auctions I was tracking last night on Ebay went for near all time highs well above GPA 90 day. One was an FF49
  11. Finished at 12k. It's a Suscha news WP but had a good bit of white on the spine. Still a monster book!
  12. I suppose shenanigans are not impossible. At the same time if that were happening it would be a lot of scales to have their thumb on.
  13. Some were more blowout than others...63, 83, 91,107 with a few other PFs, 124 (9,600), 128 come to mind. Pretty much all of them were through the roof. From a few Ditkos to ~mid bronze. A few were not there like #1, 122, 129, 300 There might of been some copper mixed in there I didn't even check those.
  14. Anyone catch the 9.8 ASMs on HA today 🤯 I don't know about the other stuff but DAMN‼
  15. 5,040 https://comics.ha.com/itm/bronze-age-1970-1979-/superhero/the-amazing-spider-man-107-marvel-1972-cgc-nm-mt-98-white-pages/a/7246-96288.s
  16. Insane results on HA today pretty much across the board with all those 9.8 ASMs! ‼ the 107 WP hammered at 5040, the 124 WP hammered at 9600‼‼ That's just two, it's mostly all of them just went totally bonkers today
  17. Yeah one graded book going for a good price is not noteworthy. On the other hand if you have a blowout sale of something then maybe people visiting the thread may want to know. Whether thats indicative of future trends is unknown. Maybe it impacts future activity maybe not but it shouldn't be blown off. There were consecutive auctions of HG bronze XMen slabs (some keys some not) outside Ebay this year for way above any GPA indicators. Its possible someone didn't post the information here because it's limited to Ebay. Again, people may still find that information important not having time to scour the internet for auctions going on. The silver "heating up" thread is not limited. GSXM had its ascension outside Ebay by and large this year. Yeah that has its own thread and it's no secret. Point is alot happens outside Ebay
  18. Okay that's fine. All I'm saying is they still deserve a mention. More information is better than less.
  19. You could see results from Clink or CC or anywhere else and compare against 90 day GPA Gocollect or even recent Ebay results. It's done here all the time anyway.
