  1. Well I think maybe 101 would be a little higher than 129 on the scale of importance but it's just a matter of opinion ...even though Jean as Phoenix is literally just in one or two panels before being rendered unconscious in 101...Go figure? Anyway assuming they're yours you got a winning trio there!!!
  2. How could that be? They have different certification numbers and grading dates. The cva copy was graded in Aug 2011 and the non cva that auctioned Wednesday was graded Oct 2018 before the 59k auction last January. So if it's the same book then comiclink put up a scan of a different book with the old holder for the January 59k auction. Edit: one of them has a little more white on the upper left corner so they're obviously different copies. On a sidenote I wonder if cgc would still notate Mile High II pedigree on the new ped label since it's no longer recognized and not on CGC's list of pedigrees?
  3. When did it sell for 60k? I thought the record was the cva copy that went for 59k on Clink. Anyway if this thing actually sold for that much and this guy decides to foolishly auction it off ?! If that's the case they deserve whatever happens. I suppose It could have been worse... they could have tried to auction it on Ebay
  4. Yeah I've gotten a couple of good seller coupons in recent memory but I haven't seen any buying coupons for the better part of a year.
  5. Yeah but what if the pedigree is not as centered as that 9.0? Some peds are off centered
  6. If you don't mind me asking where did you find it? I only saw one other white pager on sale on Lone Star comics. Unless this is not new?
  7. Chalk another one up for the cgc chat boards 🤟
  8. Cheers! I think you solved your mystery. Here's the crouching crawler right above my window in decal form
  9. https://comics.ha.com/itm/bronze-age-1970-1979-/superhero/x-men-94-marvel-1975-cgc-nm-96-white-pages/a/121943-17934.s
  10. I was going back searching for one of my old posts and just happened to stumble across this. I replied with deep scepticism over those asking prices but here we are today... two sales since the post. The Rocky Mountain was a white pager on Heritage auction and the regular was an off white pager. So maybe these dealers weren't so wildly off the mark after all Btw, that was the only Rocky Mountain sale but the sales of the other ped were nowhere near 18k
  11. He always over prices his books. In this particular case I probably don't blame him. Considering how he goes about pricing I'm surprised he's not asking 50k on this. His Ebay listings last forever! I've been following a couple of them for years while he steadily keeps upping the asking price to keep up with the market.
  12. Since no one I know is a a serious or even casual collector this resource in essential! An example is I figured out how important the centering of a book is to people in this hobby. "Eye appeal" can mean more than one thing but I think that term refers to centering for the most part. I discovered that you must look for areas of yellowing on white back covers through scans on high grade books from an eagle eyed poster. Another thing is how people view signature books...the placement of the sig, who signed it & when, in what grades people prefer their SS books, the clarity of the sig etc etc. Learned of ideas on how to get rid of Newton rings. I wouldn't know about GPA if not for these boards. So yeah these boards are vital to anyone interested in a serious collection. I have the boards to thank for the IH180 I bought almost 2 years ago. It would have cost a good deal more on Ebay! All this is important information if anyone ever wants to put something on the market!
  13. Yeah I chose 1 initially for same reason but then noticed the smaller font on the pedigree designation so went with 4 instead.
  14. Whatever they do I just hope it's the last change. Ideally they'd leave it the way it is now so those of us with OCD don't have to reholder Already chose #4
  15. Please don't change the pedigree label. Its just fine the way it is after the first change. That being said option #4 makes the most sense since it looks most like the current label.
  16. I've been meaning to send this out to cgc but just never get around to it. I cut it out from a beat up copy with half the front cover ripped off so it wasn't gonna serve any purpose there. It looks to be a cream to off white but it's in decent shape without any stains or tears. My only concern and what's keeping me from doing it is they end up disregarding my notes and put the money page on the back of the slab
  17. The NFL thread in the water cooler forum is perfectly suited for venting 🤬 Or maybe I should refer to it as the "flag football" league thread...just sayin
  18. Minor indiscretion. I don't know that anyone would know or even care that "page 10" is not supposed to be notated twice. The important thing is that they notated the ad. It looks great! What did they leave out of the notation the second & third times?
  19. Yeah it's easy to lose perspective of what kind of money a kid may of had access to in the 70's. I thought those price increases applied to both Marvel and DC? When I first started with comics in copper age 10 dollars was a fortune to spend on one comic book for me at least. The increase from 15 to 20 cents must've torpedoed the average kid out there interested in comics!
  20. Did a 3 cent increase really make that much of a difference?
  21. They're a very slight shade of grey just a smidge away from white. What's better is font on the pedigree designation is larger and featured on the center so you can actually see it unlike the old ones with the tiny print on the side Its for whatever cgc recognizes as a pedigree. What I'm wondering is if there's an old pedigree that cgc no longer recognizes will they still receive this label?
  22. Eh...it might be more fun to ridicule these people on Ebay. I mean these people are basically trolling with these screwball listings. If they're not even gonna offer free shipping why not throw in some phone books and charge extra? Maybe they can claim the phone books were once sat on by some celebrity
