  1. I tried this and it doesn't work because the air blast is not strong enough. Dont waste your money like I did
  2. Dec '69. I still count any marvel with Jan Feb or March '70 as silver because they were released in '69
  3. Just looking through gpa in past several months it looks like silver age dark covers for asm & FF have been on a tear! I haven't checked other major titles but I don't think they would be any different. That C-link auction for 11 is going to be coo coo for Cocoa puffs! Asm 28 in probably every grade have been like a straight line up. I'm trying to save my pennies for an 8.5
  4. It would be great if gpa provided information on where each sale took place. The plurality are probably from Ebay but there's no definitive information on that. It says on the website that go collect monitors sales from "across various marketplaces". I don't know if this was the case when this thread was started so does anyone know where they track sales besides Ebay?
  5. When I started getting into comics in early 90's the only person I knew besides my older cousin that was actually into/knowledgeable was a classmate that got me into comics to begin with. Guy was obsessed with Mcfarlane, venom...the Mcfarlane "spider-man" run in 1990 etc. Everyone else was into sports, or making sure they were wearing the right clothes (mc hammer pants), the nba dunk contest, etc etc....
  6. Wow thats a hell of a piece! I have a friend that'll love to have this. If you don't mind me asking where did you find it? I dont know how much value it has but do you intend on opening it up or leaving it alone? Edit: nevermind I saw its available at five below
  7. Yes they take care of all shipping costs and reholder for free but you have to submit them through Brittany M. She has an email address that you have to contact. I think @ADAMANTIUM may know the email? I already tried this once and the nine I got back through this process 6 or 7 came back with rings just as bad as last time or just slightly better...its really frustrating the hell out of everyone. The payoff of a new holder clear of rings is great but these guys need to get their act together!
  8. That might be too wide putting too much pressure on the holder. Maybe 1.5 or 2 inch wide may be safer. It might take a little while to get that bottom edge pried open enough for the board. Some holders are more tightly pressed together than others. Don't do it on the ones that don't have the inner wells that are clearly visible as the board may cause streaks. You can see the inner well on those by the corners of the book. I wouldn't expect any miracles from this. It's not getting rid of the really deep ugly rings unfortunately. The compressed air idea with a video a few pages back looks more effective but I don't have the cojones to risk possible moisture effects. I may try the regular air blower that's not compressed air with those stubborn rings
  9. Small update I got 4 back today & yesterday. 2 yesterday were all clear. The 2 today had moderately deep NRs. Was able go get rid of "most" of them with some painstakingly careful backing board maneuvering. Particularly with the asm 28 dark cover signature. Positive thing was the tat was much shorter for these 2 submissions. Just about 13 and 6 days from reception for both
  10. Yeah they do. The font on the label that notes the pedigree is not tiny anymore. You could actually see it
  11. ...Jokes like that are what brought out that clown with his broom from the old Apollo show to kick bad performers off stage
  12. Ohhh you dun 🤬'ed up now... ...In before the 🔒
  13. I have no doubt he'll love the boxes full of bubble wrap & newspaper he gets back in the swap 🤯 ...
  14. He made Johnny look like Alfred E Newman here
  15. Interesting the black & white pedigree label was included without me requesting it. It's cool... I like it anyway
  16. Never even noticed it was there. I'm always using the mobile version to navigate this site. It requires some scrolling to even see it. Thanks
  17. Well there's census to justify that one but damn somebody out there must be one hell of a TMNT fan as a prior post indicated! It would be interesting to see if there's an addition or two in the census for 9.8 Popular titles in silver like that JLA are having a go. I've noticed it on either noteworthy issues or dark covers. There was an asm 39 9.0 on pedigree just auctioned for over 1700
  18. This is not uncommon with me at least. I've had that happen a number of times. Non USPS carriers are strict about signatures though. I'm fortunate because the housing association where I live provides us with a central location within short walking distance where mail packages are delivered to a parcel locker. A few times sig packages were left at my door when they were too big to fit in the locker. The tracking often times says something like..."signed for by CC" or "delivered in or at mail box" or even "signed for by individual" which freaked me out the first time I saw that one! I think they do that with me because I get so many packages to the point where they know me and I actually prefer to avoid signing. I'd think its probably less of a hassle for the carrier as well. Registered mail is a different story in that they'll never leave it anywhere other than with the recipient. Have you thought about getting a PO Box? I always try my darndest to avoid signature on USPS due to their terrible tracking system but majority of times shippers insist on it. USPS is overwhelmed and underfunded but such is the government
  19. Can you reference some other Silver or Bronze age ones? I imagine there are a lot of GA EC type ones but let's not include those. Iron man 19
