  1. It should be noted 3 of the last 4 highest sales on GPA happened to be white pages. Given a choice between two similar CGC copies I think most would probably choose the one with white pages.
  2. The asking price on this GSXM was 10,500. Anyone interested in checking out any other accepted best offers from eBay listings check out this site. Just type in the item number on top https://www.flippertools.com/tools/ebayOfferHistory/ebay-best-offer-actual-price.htm
  3. Both of those 9.6 results were just meh...They were below market. Why the hell don't these people (be it Heritage or the seller) auction these important books on a Sunday night as opposed to a freaking Thursday afternoon? What the hell was that ?!?!
  4. Did they give you a date? Whenever I don't pay immediately I always arrange a specific payment date with the seller before committing to buy
  5. Yes. The last few bids were non internet bids placed late as hell last night. It was sitting at 7200 forever!
  6. Sony also has plans for Mysterio & Morbius... Sony & the MCU have a production/licensing merchandising deal for spider man movie involvement. If a Sony movie has an R rating it would make it less likely that the MCU would agree to produce future movies financed by Sony that include Holland as Parker This is an explanation from the article I linked at the bottom... But since Sony has the license for Peter Parker, why can’t he have a cameo in Venom you ask? Because if Tom Holland shows up, even for a split second, in Venom, by association that immediately means that Venom has to exist within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And because Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios run a very tight ship and develop their movies for years before pulling the trigger, there’s no way Feige and Co. are going to let a film they’ve had no input on just all of a sudden “become” canon in the MCU—especially an R-rated Venom movie. It’s entirely possible that when it comes time to renegotiate, Marvel Studios comes onboard as a partner and does start to develop these other “spinoff” movies, but as of right now the only films that are officially MCU canon are the ones involving Tom Holland as Peter Parker. http://collider.com/spider-man-marvel-sony-deal-explained/#mcu
  7. 8500 a few days ago for a 9.4... Heritage just auctioned another 9.4 for 8100. Most of these auctions are not yielding the high sales. Looks like the best offer listings are more likely to yield better results
  8. Many collectors frown on having silver age/early bronze books signed at all. If that view + yours prevailed there wouldn't be much room for an acceptable Stan sig. I think Stan retired from direct involvement in 1972. Imo it's fine to have a creator's signature on a book featuring their character so long as it adds appeal to the cover.
  9. The 234 definitely takes away from the cover imo. The 3rd one is much more appealing. The worst offense in this category of tasteless signatures is probably a Tom Holland on an original AF 15. I'm sure there'll be ASM 300s with Hardy's signature popping up at some point
  10. Imagine their disbelief at whomever spent 3.1 milli on the Action #1 9.0 a number of years back
  11. Thanks oak! It was actually the first book I bought from a board member.
  12. This has already been asked here a number of times & I'm surprised people don't know about it. The early Venom alluded to it a few times like the (first image I listed from ASM #333). Brock did his best to fight the symbiotes desire for brains & other cannibalism in general. He was able to stop it for the most part. In "Venom the hunger" (1996) 4 issue series you see Venom eating brains & other body parts as I listed in the the other pics. Venom later becomes full cannibal in mid 2000's when Mac Gargan assumes the symbiote and of course has no interest in containing Venom's unsavory impulses
  13. https://www.indiewire.com/2018/08/venom-r-rating-not-confirmed-pg13-spider-man-crossover-1201992715/ They're shooting for a PG 13 for a potential future Tom Holland crossover
  14. Just black out most of the label & leave the grade visible. If you have an Android phone you can easily do that in the "photos" app photo editor
  15. I feel ya! Been there done that a million more times than anybody!!! Apparently I've ticked off a higher power at some point and that's his way of kicking me in the nuts ? BTW, these coupons are turning into a real test of will power!
  16. A 65 in cream to ow pages wouldn't have had a prayer of auctioning near that at the start of this year. I believe the last cream/ow 6.5 went for ~1300 last Dec if I'm not mistaken
  17. In your view how much of the census numbers regarding 181 are a result of double counted resubmitted books? This is just an anecdotal example but a few pages back in this thread someone posted a picture of about 10 old CGC labels from resubmitted books that were cracked open. 7 of those labels were of IH 181. I wish there was a way to obtain a clearer picture of this because for such an old book that census seems absurdly high! The ratio between available high grade copies & census also seems off. So many copies but only a fractional amount are available
  18. For some perspective, at the start of this year 9.6 were averaging roughly and I do mean roughly ~7,600 they're now averaging ~12k. 9.4 most recent GPA results are in the mid to high 7 thousand range. There's a good deal more than 1k difference between 96 & 94 9.8 at start of year was ~20,500 rough average it's now ~24k. There's always been a weirdly large distance between 98 & 96 9.8 probably been the slowest increase of all but just by a bit
  19. Seems so . Riot is the only other symbiote confirmed so far. It also has a grayish color so that would suggest Riot
  20. It was brought to earth by Peter Parker from Beyonder's battle word before it ever found Brock. I can only hope you're right but it'll take some interesting creative liberties for it to somehow bond with spider man after Brock . Whatever... It'll just be cool to see a totally comic accurate Venom however it happens. Something closer to this version as opposed to the skinny butchered 2007 version. Maybe someday? Anyways it'll be a much more coherent and comic accurate movie world if all these characters were controlled by just one big MCU! I can dream though...
  21. The auction ended on a Thursday afternoon. I believe it had just one more bid in the final hours. Who the hell holds an auction for such an important book on a freaking Thursday afternoon when everyone's at work???
  22. That's pretty much the only grade that dropped significantly post 08
  23. Probably because there's only a couple of other GSX 9.8 cgc available that I have seen & both are BIN listings for well over 10k. I haven't checked one other auction house but I doubt they have one
  24. There's going to be a sequel. It's been all but confirmed. By all indications "Scream" will be the main villain. I think they're going to save Carnage for the sequel. Otherwise we would have gotten an indication or two of Woody Harelson in the symbiote by now. Edit: it's not scream it's Riot as the supposed main antagonist. Getting my characters mixed up I suppose they can get away with not including Spidey if they really wanted to with this lethal protector/planet of symbiotes/klyntar storyline but they'd be shortchanging themselves & the fans if they choose that route. I think most people would really prefer them to work in Spidey somehow. It'll make for a more successful Venom movie franchise
