Giant Size X-Men #1 and/or X-Men 94 Club
MGsimba77 replied to HeroX's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
Nice going! I was just going by what GPA and eBay had listed as the selling price which was a tad under 5800. But whatever it was congratulations on it -

Incredible Hulk #181 - is it *that* red-hot?
MGsimba77 replied to Getoutandstayout's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
Agree. It's not always a simple choice between a badly wrapped white or a perfectly wrapped ow/w. In that case I would think most would go with the ow/w but there's a middle ground there. Often I see white copies that are not perfectly wrapped but not terrible either. I think the market overall takes the white pager with an okay wrap. Others can't control their OCD -
Agree with you. Any "boom" going on while the national debt clock will soon run out of space to fit all the numbers in is as trustworthy as a 3 dollar bill. It's laughable & gotten beyond Monopoly money at this point! I just think there would have to be some crazy catastrophic shock worse than 10 years ago for comic values to take a systemic hit. Just an opinion but if someone really wants a 181 now's the time

Hmmn, not sure that's a good idea. If the 09 calamity could only effect 9.8s I'm not sure a standard recession would have much effect on most grades. Prices could be out of reach by that point.

Giant Size X-Men #1 and/or X-Men 94 Club

Congratulations. Glorious book! Was it an auction? This thing is on the move, a 9.6 white just sold for a bit under 5800! -
Are Newton Rings 'normal and acceptable'?
MGsimba77 replied to Get Marwood & I's topic in Comics General
As I'm sure you know I had a number of reholders probly 10 or so in total. I've just had a very slight issue with newtons on one, the ASM 45. It's on the white portion of the front cover barely noticeable though. Hope that helps I wonder if CGC provides some kind of remedy if one or more come back with severe rings? -

It would have to be badly miswrapped for me to give up the white pages. Just my -
I agree with doing a bin over an auction 100% but in this case I think the OP doesn't have too much sales data to go on. What would the bin number be on the #2? Would you go by what happened in 09 with the #1? I figure anyone interested or searching for a human fly book is more likely than not frequenting comic auction sites other than eBay. Besides Clink & CC allow auctions to last way longer allowing for more exposure. Probably Heritage too. Personally I'd just put a number on it and wait it out. I hate auctions

This Week in Your Bronze Age Collection!!
MGsimba77 replied to TupennyConan's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
The highest price variant for this one is 9.6 and there's only one in the census. I'm sure it's value is off the charts... Just to give you some numbers on the 9.4 price variant Last GPA sale of regular 9.4 : 211 Last GPA sale price variant 9.4 : ~1300 Census of regular 9.4 : 204 blue label Census of 9.4 price vari : 6 So I wouldn't think it's worth while just to census chase a price variant. Besides I'd rather have a better condition regular copy than a price variant with stress marks or whatever. Btw, this isn't the X-Men I was telling you about. That one is on the way around a month or so. It has a close relationship with this one though -

MGsimba77 replied to Getoutandstayout's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
A 9.0 cream/ow sold for 6550 couple of weeks before that so go figure? When the census is what it is here your going to have some wackadoo results like that 9.4 along with phony sales on eBay & other unavoidable shenanigans... -
Who is your favorite Spider-Man artist?
MGsimba77 replied to ComicConnoisseur's topic in Comics General
I'll abstain on the count of Kane being left out. I know he drew covers more than interior but still -
Yeah I agree! Mr Negative was highlighted here. I just posted the Ross edition of #568 with goblin. Man that cover is just ridiculously sick!!

63 is a dark cover. Ugly imo but the dark cover would explain the discrepancy

Is your 85 raw or graded? I have 83 & 84 in CGC 9.8's. thinking about getting them reholdered. I'll see if I post pics at some point. 84 is another frustrating miswrapped issue
