  1. Off the top of my head...ASM 145, 163 & secret wars 8 9.8 ASM 148 in 9.6 Nothing really big ticket
  2. Oh I know they'd have no idea it's non CGC and that their are 3 graders per book if I'm not mistaken. I'm pretty sure they'd just treat the crossovers just like any other but there's always the chance of a couple of excessively tough graders (since there's no consistent standards) looking at these books. Financial gain of these books in CGC slabs in same grade wouldn't be too much more than where they are now
  3. Yeah I agree. I have a number of 9.8 cbcs slabs and all are easily just as good or better than any 9.8 cgc. I even have a few 9.6 cbcs that look perfect. Of course I can't see possible color touch or restoration but I just can't trust these guys. It wouldn't be worth the financial risk with a spiteful grader
  4. Marvel studios will be taking over shortly? Not sure I follow? Anyhow, i won't attempt to be Nostradamus and predict it will or won't do well enough. I'll just let the chips fall where they may I try not to have any preconceptions because it's entirely possible for a studio to put out great trailers for a poor movie. Although it's tough since I love the character so much.
  5. Not really much of a spoiler but I should still warn. It involves Woody Harelson
  6. http://www.businessinsider.com/venom-rated-pg-13-so-that-character-can-meet-spider-man-in-future-2018-9 Meanwhile I think it's a bit of an overreaction to be obsessed over one line in one trailer. It's just a line in the movie. Why let it influence your outlook of the whole thing? I'm just withholding any objections I have until I see the movie and/or learn of any future plans they have with possible sequels. If I think it blows I'll be all over Sony like flies on dog s**t! Don't have any positive or negative preconceptions. Just waiting till I see.
  7. I absolutely agree with your assertion that Marvel characters would always be in better hands with the MCU and that source material shouldn't be tossed aside in these movies. Just curious, I assume you believe any Venom movie should be an R rated horror film or am I mistaken to assume? In such case why would you think Disney would agree to put out an R rated horror film even if it's dedicated to a comic book character??? When has Disney ever released anything close to a violent horror film? Anyways if there's anything good to come out of a less than stellar performance here it's that these non MCU entities may just stop attempting comic movies all together. If they're determined to ignore the character's source material because these Sony writers & producers know better then please don't bother. If there's indeed a God Sony will just relent and sell all it's Marvel toys to Disney however this movie performs! That being said I have enjoyed the trailers and being a Venom fan am hoping for a successful performance here. Have no idea how predictive critics or rotten tomatoes is? Barely even heard of rotten tomatoes?
  8. Who the hell ends an auction at 3:55 AM eastern on a Thursday morning?!?! Seriously? The hell is wrong with people ????? https://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Amazing-Spider-Man-129-Feb-1974-Marvel-1st-App-The-Punisher-9-6-cgc-/132802761238
  9. Don't be disappointed 5380 total for this 8.5 yesterday https://www.ebay.com/itm/Incredible-HULK-181-CGC-VF-NM-8-5-1st-Wolverine-Appearance-o-white-pages-/173554628291
  10. Jeez... what's up with these Venom trolls?! Some weird s**t going on
  11. Yes correct no role at all from Disney. Sony & MCU (which is owned by Disney) share movie rights to Peter Parker's Spider-man. Hopefully they can work out an agreement in future for a Spidey role but that would've been much less likely with an R rating
  12. People, if this is R rated they'd have ZERO chance of ever being able to work in Tom Holland's spider man character. They would need Disney's approval due to contractual reasons. The nitpicking over the CGI is crazy! Too shiney? Really ? Too many teeth?...
  13. Some people just get off on being unimpressed. They'll find something wrong with it no matter what. For my part I definitely have my objections but I'm willing to give it a fair shot. The CGI looks killer except for the spiderless chest of course. That last clip was lit as hell
  14. Charitable sellers. They do happen. That last 9.4 sale was absurd right after 2 all time highs
  15. I remember reading once that Romita thought a wolverine was a "female wolf" when he was asked to design the character back in the day. Hard to believe but they originally intended to limit the character to thos 3 Hulk issues. Roy Thomas decided to include him in the revamped X-Men only after being cought off guard by how well received he was. Good call
  16. No I edited the response. It was an inventory sale of 5k. Not an auction. My preference for bins still applies though. There are some charitable sellers out there from time to time. I just wish I'd come across one at some point
  17. It means that there are too many savvy experienced bidders out there and that auctioning off a 181 is an unnecessary gamble when you can put a high but reasonable BIN price and sell it that way with some some patience. There was an auction of a 9.6 on pedigree comics earlier this year that ended in a disastrous 5k range. That was way way under market value at the time. That's just one example but imo it's just an unnecessary gamble to auction off an IH 181 Check that, the pedigree was an inventory sale not an auction. I think that you'll have a better shot at a high price sale from a bin listing as opposed to an auction
  18. I thought they had to be from the same year?
  19. You forgot about the Clink 3% buyer's premium which in this case brings the total here to ~ 7,875 before shipping cost. Still a little on the low side however but majority of auctions end up on the low side. Too many professional bidders out there. Anyone auctioning this book is taking a bad gamble Edit: the buyer premium only applies to CC payments. Assuming they paid by check you'd be right
  20. MCU owns rights to the Punisher? You sure about that? Why would he be on Netflix unless it's also owned by Disney? Anyways it would be interesting to see how Disney would handle a Punisher appearance if ever! To answer the OP, From a purely analytical viewpoint it's HOS 92 but from a personal preference viewpoint it's 129 by million miles! The difference in census numbers might have to do with 129 being a little more in demand generally
  21. Great idea wonder why someone didn't think of this thread before? Wasn't easy but I found the non explicit version Â
  22. I think the avengers 1, IH 102 & ST 101 alone would surpass the fees. What's the grade on the IM 55? It's cropped in the picture
  23. 7500 for a 9.0 white yesterday on a best offer. Will see if this is legit. The seller has high eBay feedback & the bidder as well so that's a good sign but this copy has already been relisted once by the seller after the last "sale". So we shall see https://www.ebay.com/itm/Incredible-Hulk-181-CGC-9-0-WHITE-PAGES-WP-1974-Bronze-Age-1st-WOLVERINE-/202444524201
