  1. I think Batman 1, but it is at least a little tempting to take the Edgar Church MF 73--does that make me a bad Batman collector? (This assumes I have the resources to get another nice looking Batman 1, of course. If it were being given to me, with my current net worth, then it isn't a competition.)
  2. I think it's clearly X-Men 1, which is, to me, one of the 3-4 most important Marvel keys of the Silver Age (and without hesitation I would only place FF1 and AF15 ahead of it, honestly).
  3. I guess I'm on the side that thinks this show was good by itself. The through-line about grief, and how it impacts people, was powerful and well-delivered. Olsen, Bettany, and Hahn gave great individual performances, especially considering they were not just playing standard MCU roles, but mimicking classic sitcom characters. If they add in those retcons, it will only enhance an already-great show (assuming the retcons make sense, of course).
  4. "Stride across their bones" is great. I like the voice, too, even if it's not Michael Ironside.
  5. I got an email saying it's confirmed. May well be the last show I miss.
  6. My prediction is we will get movies about a team of mutants, featuring some combo of the 1960s, 1970s, and 1990s characters. I suspect Xavier, Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean Gray, Colossus, Pryde, and some of the 1990s characters I'm less familiar with (Rogue? Bishop?); maybe Storm tying into Wakanda? I do think Magneto is a guarantee; he's too well known to be ignored. I also think this'll take 2-3 movies, total, including maybe a solo feature or two weaving everything together.
  7. I assumed it was the astral version, and that the kids were reaching her from another dimension.
  8. Yes, I think it's been basically confirmed that Perlmutter was behind that.
  9. No, I'd say that scene does clearly set up Multiverse of Madness, but more likely someone like Nightmare than Mephisto, albeit borrowing the Mephisto plot I think.
  10. Disagree completely. Both with the dismissiveness towards Wanda ("Wanda is nuts..."), but also towards the story not being interesting. If she is truly this cosmically powerful being, that is very interesting, especially given that she's just learning how to control and use her powers.
  11. No great cameo, but I don't care. Very few of my fan theories came true, but I don't care. I still thought this finale was really done. There’s obvious set-up for future installments of the MCU, and I wish those installments were coming closer, but whatever. I’m glad I got this in the form it was.
  12. I think that proves I'm not sitting on a throne of lies, right?
  13. Like Monica said, Wanda also would've beaten Thanos in a head to head fight. (Just getting things back on track to Wanda.)
  14. I thought this was a very solid outing. The Lois story looks promising, although I don't like the actor playing Edge (I find the British smugness annoying and not what I want the character to be). Jor-El was great, and I like what they're doing with Luthor; looking forward to exploring that world more fully, hopefully including Lois if her father was actively opposing Superman.
  15. She's doing an exceptional job. I'm not sure that's controversial. Nobody's saying she's the "greatest actress in the world" or anything, but credit where credit is due.
  16. Yes absolutely. It's an excellent meditation on grief and the grieving process. The leads give stellar performances, especially Olsen. People may complain about easter eggs and theories that have gone unfulfilled, but I think that's absurd.
  17. I must've missed that in the auction. If you put it up for auction I'll likely bid on it, even though I doubt I can afford it.
  18. I'll be bummed if some of my theories don't work out, but I'm still happy with this show. The way it's treated grief, and the response to grief, has been incredible, and Olsen's performance has been beyond amazing. No matter what happens, I'm looking back fondly on this show.
  19. I seem to remember that 54 and 55 suffered particularly badly from a post-movie drop. Worse than other such books, in terms of rise and subsequent fall.
  20. No I picked it up almost exactly a year ago; felt like I overpaid at the time but glad I got it then instead of waiting.
  21. I totally agree. It made perfect sense from a storytelling perspective, and I found that fact devastating, because it was both odd and logical.
  22. That's not my point. My point is about emotional support, and none of her friends were there for her, which is why I mentioned Barton specifically (who I don't think is considered a fugitive, considering he served his house arrest). She didn't need help, but she needed support. It just struck me as odd, and sad.
  23. I'm cutting everyone slack--like I said, this happens all the time to the grieving people, and it is of course narratively more powerful that she went alone. It just stood out to me, especially because there were people who could have gone with her. It's a subversion of expectations--you don't expect someone who's lost as much as Wanda to be alone, and yet she is utterly, completely, alone.
