I have to disagree. This is some Grade A Nonsense. -

Can you recommend 12 pages of better nonsense? -
Buy the 121 and pickup a nice copy of the Marvel Tales that reprints the cover and the story of 122.

Who needs Friday's? -
Saying you want to get out, and doing so are very different animals. I'd love to sell 99% of my books but getting a reasonable offer on it has been impossible.

Doesn't reading them lower their value? -

Will I pay $500 for a book that GPA is worth $500? Most likely not, especially if I already have one or more. That isn't how business's grow. If I know I have a buyer lined up, I'd pay more than if I already have two in stock, but other dealers have inventories that dwarve mine and may have multiple copies. None of that matters as you are trying to compare strawberries to lemons. You don't want to sell me your whole collection. I wouldn't want the whole thing and if you force me to take it all, it will be at your expense. I like to make fair offers on part of a collection and leave the rest behind. While I still have some books out on the convention circuit, I have no interest in setting up at big shows. -

Says the guy who is willing to pay 9.6 prices minus a 15% discount for a book he wants to read. You really should stop responding. -

I was beginning to feel bad for the good natured bashing you were getting, but your last few posts indicate you are still pretty clueless. No one has to buy a book at your price, and no one has to sell you a book at your price. It was extremely kind of you to take time out of your convention schedule to attempt to show a stranger how a CGC 9.6 isn't really a CGC 9.6 and to educate him on the proper way to price his inventory. He was probrably just pissed when he realized he wasted $50 and eight months on getting the book graded when you are perfectly willing to not only grade it accuretly and help him to price it. -
He had a letter published in Arak #1.

I love those colors. I'm in for 25% if we can agree on a consigner.

I'm not sure, but i think the days of dealers driving hundreds of miles to a show and sleeping in their van are over. It cost a good bit to operate at these shows, and that includes hotel, gas and meals as well as the price of the table. I know that I appreciate it when someone degregates my merchandise. I especially appreciate it when the person combines it with a request for a discount. In the future, pull out a few hundred dollar bills and wave them in the sellers face. Then towards the end of the show ,walk by and show him the books you bought and let him see how he missed out on any of your money. Let him know you are not someone to be trifled with. Afterward, take to social media and tell the world how this guy was selling books in 9.6 slabs that weren't up to your personal standards. Hopefully, the dealer learns his lesson. -

Sounds like the seller dodged a bullet. Sometimes the best sale is one you choose not to go through with. -

In a decade plus in the bar business, I never had a single customer offer me 20% off for his first drink. If a business, large or small chooses not to haggle, it is their choice and I don't see how it calls their expertise into account. The idea of slabs was to end grading disputes. Somebody dropped $50 or more to get the book slabbed so he wouldn't have to dicker over what to deduct for this tick and for that non-visable fault. He has a 9.6 slab and wants GPA for it. You want it for a discount. Keep looking and hopefully you'll find a book you are happy with. If the book turns out to be overpriced today, the dealer will have to adapt. -
Buying Question and Future Market Values
shadroch replied to 99sscamaroma's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
While I can't see the future, I can read charts and follow trends. Unless you believe that this is the all time high the market or hobby will ever achieve, buying blue chips is rarely a bad idea. It's a good investment but not a great one. Are you buying it to flip in a short time frame or looking to hold long term? -
Our Recent Experience Selling Comics Through Mycomicshop

I'm glad you are pleased but selling them that quickly indicates you might be pricing them too low. Check in a week or so and see if the books were relisted at a higher price. I do this, and I suspect I'm not alone. -
You don't understand why it matters if your card is charged today or in six months? Perhaps you know some adults who can sit down with you and help you to understand financial affairs.

I sold two books in the auction. Was hoping to clear $300 and they sold for $306, so I missed by 7%. I've got four more tonite, but they are drek that I was surprised they allowed in this auction. I'm hoping for $250 tonite, and they are currently at $130. I got shut out on every Spiderman but won a few books at great prices, and a few others at a decent price. 9.4 copies of X-Men 56 and Daredevil 43 , both of which I consider classic covers, went well below what I was willing to spend. Some other books I was blown out of the water on. I'll be relisting my buys in the next week or so. I don't put stuff in the auction for at least two months after I list it for sale. They are better to buy from than to sell in, imo. Edit- the four books in the modern auctions brought in exactly $250. -
How are you at spotting restoration? Spotting color touch or trimming? That is a very good price for a book that is in very good, but I'd be wary. Why is the seller willing to leave thousands on the table?

Send them back. Unless, of course, you are one of those who don't see it as a defect.
