  1. I love the global shipping. Had one package show up damaged and buyer got full refund from someone and I got fully paid. I have been doing two or three a month for a good while. It's no different than shipping to Kentucky.
  2. Somebody will buy the UK books for.more.than a buck or two.
  3. Just picked up a huge hoard of reproduction Marx playsets. Looks like several dozen castles and literally thousands of knights, Vikings and Merry Men. Only opened one of four bins thus far.
  4. Any double or triple covers in your board?
  5. I may have told a private collector, but when you set up a booth, it's your responsibility to know your stuff. No customer has an obligation to correct a dealers mistakes. Especially after he is asked about it, and double checks the book.
  6. He wasn't, and Chuck was operating under the impression Church was dead.
  7. The day I opened my first store is my best day. I'd like to say the next best day was selling my second shop, but it's not. Not being a suck up, but the first CGC lunch I attended in NY and the first dinner in Philadelphia rank very high. Made several long lasting friends there, and it was just strange telling the hostess I was there to meet the Tim Drake party. Spideys bachelor party was great. So was the day I finally found a copy of Avengers 9. People today simply don't understand how hard it was for ordinary collectors to obtain back issues in the early 1970s.
  8. I always thought the PS book where young Petey is sexually abused.would have some pop, but not yet.
  9. It's not a sales thread, but I appreciate the offer. I've been selling off on mycomicshop.
  10. I have some books up for auction. I'll be happy if I get $300 for them. I think they will do closer to four, but three will satisfy me. So I am watching them and they were at $276 on Wednesday and I was happy. Looked Thursday night and they were at $277. They have not moved since then. I know there will be much more bidding as it closes next week but its just amazing how often bidding peaks just before my goal and I go through days of unneeded anxiety only to have the books do pretty much what I expected. The same thing happens when I play cards. I'll set a point where I will cash out. Say its $300 for the day. I cant tell you how many times I get to $285-295 only to hit a losing lull and either never get there or spend an extra two hours to get that extra win.
  11. That's for if the person is a member here. If you are asking about a place to talk about bad eBay experiences or dealings with non members, there is no dedicated forum. Fire at will
  12. No, I never had. A bio on him says his first pro work was in 1975. Nor do I find listings for the book or the company. I may be wrong, but I suspect his fans will be very interested. Nice find. Very cool, even if it ends up not being very expensive.
  13. Sounds like all the customers are frauds, except for the Dixon's.
  14. That's not the point. No, the downside of using media mail is why take the chance it gets opened for inspection. The difference between shipping them priority and media on a three pound package is negligible and certainly isn't worth it. You can pack the books as carefully as you want, but the people opening your box to inspect it won't care or repack them as securely. You mitigate damage by not walking through a minefield to save a buck or two. I won't even bring up the fact that shipping comics media mail is against postal regulations. Risking damage to potential 9.8 BA. books in order to save money on a three pound package is foolish. Even if you get away with it 99/100 times, it's not worth it. These books will turn up, most likely not all get 9.8s and we can always wonder what if.
  15. You sent a 3 pound package via media mail? You saved what? Five dollars. How'd that work out for you?
  16. I believe Stan claimed he sold several thousand of these at $1 a piece at a time that he was pulling about fifty dollars a week at Timely.
  17. I found a set of Third Eye cards that were identical to the much larger posters. They are about the size of a birthday card. I gave away about half of them over the years, and have not seen them for sale.
  18. You can find the title in the indica box that's usually on the bottom of page 1.
  19. What happens to the books they evidently sold to unsuspecting dealers?
  20. Prices for this stuff are all over the place. The day after I sold a Kravens Last Hunt promo poster for $27, I found a BIN for $4.99 shipped.
  21. With these new developments, I'd stop by the local police station and speak to the Desk Sgt. He may suggest you speak to a detective. I don't see how a customer can switch that many bags in a booth with multiple people present. Any chance of inside collusion? Are you sure the bags were switched at the shows?
