  1. 7.5, but those marker marks make me wonder about color touch.
  2. There are lots of SA Marvels that have incorrect information in the indicta. Unless there are some with incorrect, and others with correct info, its no big deal. I don't have a copy so I can't look.
  3. Did you work for Camelot, by any chance? I applied for a job there by mail. It just seemed like the koolest place in the world to work. The owner told me to apply in person. I went to the Sugar Bowl that year and considered renting a car to drive there but spent the days getting hung over instead
  4. You should always be careful what you post on these forums. Not everyone reading these is a friend. Last year, someone posted pictures of some very expensive books he has on display in his house and about a week later posted about taking his family on vacation.
  5. Talk to the Art Director at your local HS, or if you live in a big city, the Director at a school that specializes in the Arts. They make be able to assign students to it as a project. It won't be a finished project, but it will give you a rough sample to show publishers your concept. What you really need is an experienced editor.
  6. In NY, the contractor would be liable for criminal acts by his employees and subcontractors.
  7. The Crippen collection first came to light when Metropolis bought some books from a contractor. It wasn't until years later, when the heirs bought some books to Heritage that they discovered the lowlife had plundered some of their fathers books. I think one of the books stolen was an Action 1.
  8. I prefer Omni's as they are easier on my eyes. Even with reading glasses, I struggle to read normal sized comics these days.
  9. Your father evidently knew about CGC but chose to leave most raw. Study the ten graded books you have, until you understand what defects caused the books to get the grades they have. Then start comparing the raw books to them.
  10. It is stuff like this that makes me flinch when someone displays expensive books in their home or shop. There are bad people out there. People with bad intentions. Don't make it easier for them. I'm not saying that happened here, but people have been murdered because they showed off their stuff to the wrong person.
  11. There was some great stuff going on at DC in that period, but also a lot of head scratchers. Death of Supergirl and Barry Allen, Titans, great storyline in Legion that spanned about 15 month that had everyone convinced that Supergirl hadn't died but was the new mystery Legionaire, Allan Moore on Superman, Bolland doing Camelot 3000.
  12. I'm more of a gatherer these days. My hunting days are over. You are forgiven.
  13. Great. Another obscurity I now have to track down. Thanks.
  14. Mycomicshop breaks them into 2 different books. They are currently buying the GC version for half the regular version. Go figure. https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?TID=24501068
  15. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Avengers-2004-In-New-York-Edition-11GRANDCENTRAL-CGC-9-8-0763333023-/362090614220?hash=item544e484dcc:g:DEMAAOSwXvNZq5tf The one above has the Grand Central logo. The one below doesn't. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Avengers-11-Reprint-Rare-In-New-York-Magazine-edition-Rare-Promo-/311953125802?hash=item48a1daf1aa:g:v9IAAOSwmx9ZrXVj
  16. Evidently, some were also inserted in a free magazine hotel guest got in their rooms. Those don't have the GC logo on them. Thanks, and thanks for the book.
  17. Thank You. I see I should have hit the exact match. not the starts with as that gave me far too many results to look through. What's interesting is there is at least one variant . The copy I have has a Grand Central Station logo and the one I saw today doesn't. I guess 15 copies total in the census does make it pretty rare, although I suspect most people don't know it exist.
  18. I'm trying to find a book in the census, that I know has had copies slabbed, without success. Its a reprint of the original Avengers 11 that is sometimes called The Avengers in NY. It was handed out to hotel guest in NY about a dozen years ago. I've seen slabbed copies but a search turns up hundreds of possibilities but no exact match. Any help would be appreciated. Juan( Mr. Highgrade) gave me a copy several years ago and it is in my permanent collection. Just curious on the number graded as I saw one of them in 9.8 listed for $899 today. Owner claimed it was super super rare, which I'm pretty sure it isn't.
  19. The Bat image is much later than the book, and is also after DC routinely reprinted these Batbooks. Can't say anything else about it.
  20. I rarely give a book more than a 9.2. This rates 9.2.
  21. I believe he apprenticed with Chuck Barris in the CIA sponsored Gong Show and is still deep cover in The Agency. Can't think of any other way a guy could disappear so cleanly.
