Good lord. There are 9- 9.8 grades given for GS ASM 3, and I submitted one of them? Out of maybe 25 of my submissions ever?
Why did I sell this 10 years ago again?

I don’t think you guys are using the word stigmata correctly, are you? Are the pages bleeding?
Only the noses are bleeding.

Old thread, but I still think it's valid.
Thanks. Lots of good questions there, but not quite the answer.
There is an asm on clink where the seller says " JOHN ROMITA written on 1st page in pen. CGC doesn't make it a signature series unless they witness a signature. In this case, the book was signed by Romita without CGC witnessing it, but if CGC indicates the name of an artist or writer, it means they believe it is authentic. Romita, as the co-creator of the famous villain, is also the most important artist to draw Kingpin, as he did within this very important first appearance issue. So this is one cool piece of memorabilia."
I doubt that what he says is entirely accurate. I think it just technically means that someone wrote "John Romita". I don't think that they assess it beyond that.

I saw a CLINK listing that stated CGC doesn't note an inside signature unless they believe it's real.
Does anyone know if that's accurate?

Yes. I've noticed this as well.
And as an interesting side note, I have a theory as to why.
Years ago I picked up an original owner Marvel SA collection from off continent and all of the issues that were notorious for off center miswraps were perfectly centered.
I attributed it to those issue being early off the presses (because they had to travel further to reach the newsstand) and therefore have stronger production quality.
I just went back to look at the AF #15 from this batch, and you guessed it, it was nearly perfectly centered with only the tip of the A touching the spine, the circle fully present on the left and the comics code fully present on the right.
As was the FF #48 and all other issues that are normally poorly centered.
Or the buyer could have been the same anal nutjob that I was as a kid, and cherry picked the copy that he thought was the nicest looking.

No. Did a Google search and this thread came up. Nothing nefarious going on, when I want to sell something I just sell it.
Over ten years ago, 9.6 ASM copies were selling for about the same as now.
Seemingly legitimately sealed copies of FF 1 and Avengers 4 were offered on the boards for $1,750 each, and sold extremely quickly.

Someone has a Spider-Man for sale on Facebook sealed for 5000 Canadian - not sure if that’s a high price or not?
Thats about 3750 USD
GREAT 7 year old thread bump!
Are you the one selling it?

Or is it possible that we are now seeing a lot more of these due to the relatively poorer quality of the pressing work now being performed by a certain pressing company in the post-Nelson era that shall remain nameless for obvious reasons?
Wouldn't it be more likely that it's because of some of the pressers that post videos of themselves on youtube introducing humidity chambers in to the equation?
How many of these do it your selfers out there work there way up to high end books?

Yes, pressing a book CAN make the paper change size but it's a process that occurs naturally and you have no way of knowing how or why it got there.
That's why some books EVEN AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN PRESSED have all the edges of the pages and covers line up (Silver Age, Bronze Age it doesn't matter). The book looks trimmed...but it wasn't, and the covers didn't shrink even though they were pressed.
Here are two issues from the same submission, purchased from clink.
Are you saying that the paper may have changed size?

I haven't had gpa in quite a while.
When and how much did the Curator go for last time?
It's so purty.

I'll never be in the league of shoppers for an AF 15 like this, but I've never liked the look either.
There's an old label ASM 9 in the CGC Gallery with the look too.
i would say yuk, but I don't need the abuse.

7.0- 7.5

CBCS is a lot looser imho. I picked up a 5.0, cracked it out, and have very little doubt it will come back a 4.0 maybe 4.5
When I bought it, I negotiated the price with that in mind.
That's a lot different, even if you're correct, than saying CBCS can miss badly enough to call an 8.5 a 9.4.
I would disagree with that enormously.

asm 10 $460

I would guess that it doesn't lower the grade.
I've looked at many of the 7.5-8.5 qualified copies and never really felt like "That's a 9.0-9.2 copy."
There are also 16 qualified 9.4 -9.6 grades noted in the census, so it's hard to picture those copies being better, and then being downgraded because the stamp is missing

Rotten tomatoes roller coaster will hopefully be pointed back up.
Roughly, 95%, 65%, 90% and 60% for the first four Craig movies.
My fingers are crossed, but I don't have high hopes.
Just tried to watch Quantum again this week, it had been so long. Made it through about 25 minutes, and gave up. Wretched.
Funny how the intro songs to the two winners were so great.
You know my Name was just so phenomenal.
We'll see.

Yes, the "listing was ended" at 3:01 my time, and you posted this at 3:06pm my time.
Keep me posted on the breaking developments.

You need to review the rules.
You can't list on Ebay, and here.

Are you referring to what looks like a bit of page separation on the 9.0? I don't know that pressing would have caused that.
Yeah that 9.8 is dynamite! I have a 9.8 but it's not a white like yours
The back cover is flush with the edge of the pages. I really think it's a bad press. A color breaking crease upper left corner is very flat too.
I'll be staring at this 128 for many years.

I've said it before. Every single panel of that comic book is a work of art.
If anyone doesn't have that issue, just search spider man 111 on youtube.
Stunning is what I would call Romita's faces....especially Gwen.
Awesome.

JAMES BOND: NO TIME TO DIE starring Daniel Craig (2021)

Bond movies almost always came out in November.
April was kind of bizarre.
