  1. Something weird. On the pressing site, before and after examples, a 4.5 FF book, becomes a 5.0 book. Both slabs are yellow. Signature is exactly the same. The after slab is custom Stan label. Cream OW becomes OW. Not that big of a deal. The weird thing is that the date Stan signed it changes from 11/23/2013, to 4/22/2017. Probably a mistake? Just seems very weird to be a mistake Before https://www.cgccomics.com/certlookup/1196041008/. After https://www.cgccomics.com/certlookup/1393257001/
  2. Where did you get this from? Did you see somewhere that they said they remove comics from the inner sleeve on every re holder/custom label, or at least their employees are supposed to? This is all that I saw in the complaint: "Because reholdering does not involve grading, the grade does not change (except in rare instances not applicable here)."
  3. Yeah I have trouble figuring it out , but it just doesn't smell right. There is an Avengers 4 pressing example on the site, that went from a 9.0 Blue, to a 9.4 Yellow, stan back cover. Almost certainly the same book. What also doesn't smell right to me, and there may be a rational explanation, is the consistent effort to blur the view of all cert numbers. It doesn't scream out transparency, but I've never played the CPR game, so I have no real insight.
  4. I agree, and I've been wondering why. The issue is what do you do with the higher graded copy, of say 2 copies of JIM 85, where the lower graded book was put in the higher grade slab. I guess you would still have the higher grade book, with a blue label and a note that says, "Stan lee written in ink on the back cover", but that just feels odd to me.
  5. No, I clearly got that. I was just wondering if the notes were all from a different book, or if they played around with the notes for this book.
  6. Do you a theory on what the Terrazzos did here? What threw me was the mention of light spine roll in the notes. It didn't strike me as "light", but the grade was clearly screwy.
  7. Occasionally I check the boards on my 65" Sony 4K tv, and I have to say, your posts have RISEN to the top of my favorites to see pop up recently.
  8. everything is in question now... I don't think everything is quite as in question as that ebay sale is. It smells like somebody got rid of it RIGHT NOW. It's exactly the kind of situation to absolutely be on the look out for before you would buy something, and something everybody should make note of in new listings. A book graded 13 years ago, in a brand new holder, that may easily now NOT be a 9.8 Plus, no bidding now that I can view, to see if somebody actually popped the bin, A very easy way to launder responsibility, or custody.
  9. The sales of CGC 9.8 ASM 194, 238, 252 and 300 are of course, a train wreck right now. This one feels like russian roulette to me. Graded in 2011, now in a new holder. https://www.cgccomics.com/certlookup/0962187007/ https://www.ebay.com/itm/276168251156?hash=item404ce91714:g:OPcAAOSwY~VlU5hB&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAAwOuUPQPiR8FvxsYZQ5uszZJFtFKcqjJLCwXbU9ly70SLal5YeAJBjv5Qt0wqQgJpPL0cUwCBYdFNPGmv3QcPOGBR%2B88JPLdVtaYPEynD5EcalTOt%2FSSOGOcgo%2FBgjEt1vWUpGb6Vpe4iM%2FbRX6AguY3q2yPkUxt6YhO9GmbU8aRe4Ej%2FC0v3ru2MYSQDaSBMP4qM%2BEp93Hf7RLCb6fRQlRD59yX1tU2%2BKxZs8eIuM7No%2FUuHAvk8otAopDHEvI7HCA%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR_DH9qivYw
  10. other than the fact, that someone from the store set up an account, and opened the thread about a theft of a pressing submission last summer?
  11. I wonder if Steve Borock was aware of the connection with comic book station when he did the interview recently. I really doubt it, because I wasn't the only one that came off, feeling like it was a little bit too much of a "people need to teach themselves how to grade " reaction. I realize that being Facebook friends is often an extremely, extremely casual thing. But it is still a fact that Steve is Facebook friends with Tommy. Maybe at some point, Someone will make a point of that fact to him. if it turns out that he actually is close with Tommy, it would certainly carry some weight and help eliminate a lot of the speculation.
  12. I understand what you're saying, but there haven't been any of the books, documented to have been swapped, on their business Instagram page. The only books that have been documented on their Instagram or Facebook accounts, are books that were put on the list, that showed up on their accounts 4 to 5 years ago. I find it incredibly hard to believe, that the AF 15, yellow label 6.5, on the list, was submitted for a custom label, by some goof, with a little fee going to the dealer. The scope of this is ridiculously beyond some goof, pulling the rug over the eyes of a guy with a dealer account.
  13. some people that joined the party, a little late, don't know that back on page 54, somebody noted that one of the feedback for the eBay scammer account, came from comic book station. The poster innocently asked, if anybody was familiar with comic book station and asked if they might know the eBay scammer. a few days before that, I had noted that my suspicion was that this was probably a big submitter, that was using small feedback eBay accounts, to launder all the fraudulent books. They also probably don't know that within days, that feedback became private and disappeared.
  14. yes, it sounds like he really would've been in some serious economic trouble, the one or two times that could possibly have happened. I think that you've made up your mind. I'm totally OK with that. 👍
  15. there's already been mentioned in this thread, that someone has sworn that they cracked a blue label Hulk in the past, and there was no marvel value stamp A hell of a lot of good complaining about that did him.
  16. just making the case as I see it. I did the same thing with O.J. Simpson. Lol. Just remember, it's a pretty small percentage of comic books, I would think, like Hulk High value 181s, that come out of the slabs. my guess is, the same, applies to 9.8 Spider-Man comics Generally, you can count on them being sold as slabs, for years and years.
  17. at this point, there is no indication that anybody wasn't able to keep it to themselves. If it wouldn't have been, for the certification numbers. showing up on GPA, and CGC deciding to start putting scans in the graders notes last summer, there is almost no chance that anybody would be the wiser today. Until I hear differently, the fact that everybody involved, started creating corporations, within seven, to 10 days of this being outed, makes it seem iincredibly naïve, to think that the first one that did is not heavily involved.
  18. I don't believe that the owner of the store will ever be able to make a reasonable argument, for applying for a new business license under a new name on December 18., other than the fact that he hoped there was going to be some potential for protecting assets. He has owned three businesses and a restaurant Comic book underground, there is no evidence I've seen, of a New York license. Pressing station, there is evidence of a New York license, but it appears to be past due as of two years ago. Comic book station, there is no evidence I've seen, of a New York license. TC comics, the application date is noted as December 18, 2023. On pressing stations website, there is a before, and after example of their work, where both of the comic books are in older slabs. an amazing fantasy 4.0, looks to have been pressed into an amazing fantasy 5.0. The page quality went from off-white, to cream/off-white. The after slab, has a grade date of 2013, and you can also see, what I am nearly 100% certain, is a reflection of the owner of comic book station. clearly, the man should have a pretty substantial body of work and customers, going back for quite a while. That's why I'm so amazed, not to see any comments, reflecting his reputation.
  19. It didn't seem like it had been "auto" deleted. But I'll leave it to Joe to say he's ok with the explanation
  20. I don't feel any need to be fair to him. I think I'll be just fine, ignoring him. I won't know any less one week from now, after the attorney(s) that I know isn't like him, chime in here with the full document.
