  1. It's a slippery slope to be sure, but taking the time to reflect on our materialistic ways every now and again can't hurt. For 's sake, the difference in price between a 9.8 and a 9.9 is more than 60%+ of the world's population will make in an entire decade of working 12 hour days. It's sad. The least we could all do is acknowledge our obscene behavior from time to time. hear, hear. or here, here. I can't keep that one straight.
  2. Relativism. It's what's for dinner. At the Delic household. Every Frickin' day. Hey, every Frickin' year and every Frickin' decade, there are people selling comics for record prices and there are people buying them. Every Frickin' year and every Frickin' decade, there are people being made fun of for buying those comics at record prices. You take a swipe at me because you say my argument is relative. You take a swipe at buyers because you call them fools just as they have been called fools for years. I am telling you that over the past 5 decades, even 6 decades, if you had been buying comics at record prices you wouldn't be laughing at these people now. You'd be selling to them. Instead of taking a swipe at me and my discussion, why don't you tell me where you can safely draw a line and say "this is a safe price to pay for a comic" and why you would draw it there because I know you are a conservative person, and I know you know how to use your words to explain yourself so that line must be well defined for you. You'll have a hard time finding a post from me from deriding anyone's buying habits. My post has nothing to do with the comics. Everyone can spend whatever they want on whatever they want. I remain convinced that if the thread had been about baby-eating pumas plaguing the American midwest, somewhere in the thread would be post from you about the importance of pumas in the circle of life. I remain convinced that if a thread about Roy, for Roy, towards Roy was started, somewhere in the thread would be someone telling Roy he was wrong, talking about Roy. Further, I thought that in a pluralistic society, we were supposed to have more respect for each other's worldviews, but what I see a hellalot of on here is good old boy posturing to maintain groupthink at some member's expense.
  3. Relativism. It's what's for dinner. At the Delic household. Every Frickin' day. I know of one or two real objectivists throughout all of history. Rand and Jesus come to mind. Except that Rand was inconsistent in her relationships, so she's out. Jesus broke the laws when it suited his purposes, and he's so complex as to defy simple labels. I don't know anyone who isn't a relativist to one degree or another. Roy just happens to be more of a relativist than you. insert old joke about liberals here. "What's a Liberal?" "Someone who is to the left of you."
  4. There are those among us who would take the 12.5K hammer as being a sign that "DOOM is among us". tiny bubbles.
  5. I have put off buying, so this will be the edition I get. I understand people not wanting another hr added to an already plodding storyline for some, but I love the epic feel of this story.
  6. I watched The Secret Of The Sword (The She-Ra movie) last weekend and couldn't believe how horrible it was. I hadn't watched an original MOTU episode in at least twenty years and then I saw that and thought "How was I entertained by this?" The characters are great concepts, but the plots were horrid. I do recall seeing Thundercats a lot more recent on Cartoon Network's Toonami and yes it was better produced than MOTU. My only holdout is G.I. Joe, which I haven't seen in probably twenty years. Hands down, in terms of quality, I think it's the best. And another one of my faves, in terms of quality, (Voltron) is one of the worst.
  7. I got to meet the voice of Liono in June and he was flabbergasted when I told him that, hands down, I thought Thundercats was the best produced show of the eighties. I wish I had shown him the above photos.
  8. This thread made me sad. And then Cheetara(s) showed up. Take that, shortsighted depression.
  9. Comicalgems, You fascinate, intrigue, and amuse me. Please, keep being yourself.

  12. Chocolate Coke? Is there really such a thing? I can't decide if that sounds delicious or gross. There most certainly is, and it is most DEElishus. (best said in a really bad English Accent. Pipe in hand, optional) Take a Coke, put it over ice, (fountain coke is best) Add 2 heaping tablespoons of pourable chocolate sauce (you know, like Hershey's) Stir Drink Love Holy that sounds wrong and good all at the same time. thanks for the recipe (thumbs u

  14. Though I am not a pop lover, I found this segment very interesting. http://www.wimp.com/sodaflavors/ That was great. I watched about half the video. One of the great benefits of buisness travel is getting to try different, regional sodas. (forgive me, Southern Bretheren. "Cokes") The best soda I think I ever had was a lemon lime concoction while I was in Zimbabwe, the Summer of 1993. We drank it all Summer. Man, I miss that drink.
  15. I am also here for all of your Cherry, Vanilla, and Peach related drink addition needs. Also available for deep frying and weddings.

  17. Each and every conceived decision, ill or otherwise, was made by me, for me. And it's odd that I have to explain this on a board full of OCD nerds, but I'm quite the Smaug, laying attop my loot pile, snoring the sleep of the greedy and content. hrmmmmmmmmzzzzzzz, I smell a Hobbit.
  18. A little bit of proof (like this supposed correspondence between nuffsaid and BL's dad) would be a good start for batfella here. And all kidding aside, this really is nuffsaid. Let's just say a little birdy politely nudged him to come on here. And I'm really glad that little birdy did because we're all getting some very valuable knowledge dropped on us.....along with an all caps, scream-fest. board shenanigans=WIN Hang in there, Lauren. Hug your dad, and get yourself a tall chocolate Coke. You have nothing to feel bad about.
  19. Nice stuff Nate. Looks like you have a sweet collection that I would love to look through. Thanks, Dave. I look forward to you seeing it some day! I will be on a holiday through that neck of the woods someday. Count on a visit. done and done.
