  1. On this board, one carelessly posted smilie can ignite a flame war. You just had to go there didn't you........
  2. It's too bad Angelina Jolie never learned how to sign her name.
  3. I wouldn't mind that issue of Funny Stuff if given to me, and I know a couple of guys that would probably open their wallet for it.
  4. It took a while but someone has finally posted a book I don't want to be within 50 miles of.
  5. While I agree with the sentiment of this idea, I think all it will do is encourage spamming from questionable sellers/buyers. Not to mention, there are several low post count buyers and sellers that I have had very nice transactions with. "Throwing out the baby with the bath water" comes to mind... I think posting a thread about bad sellers/buyers is probably the only realistic way for us to address the issue right now. this is probably all pointless as I don't know if Arch's software could even be tweaked to not allow someone access to this area until some numbers have occurred. If it were possible I think ten posts should occur before being able to conduct a sale here. A spammer is usually figured out in those first couple of posts. And having a low number like ten might be a good compromise for what Oldguy is saying.
  6. So did the seperate buy/sell forum subject run out of steam?
  7. I do think that will help. I never liked the idea of "forcing" someone to use the "correct" FS terminology instead of writing out 'Superfella # 44 for sale' And seeing people getting smacked on the wrist with a ruler for not doing so was too rigid. So if the "forced" terminology goes away then I'd be all in favor of the split.
  8. I've kind of wanted to start a WTB thread lately (my first ever) but I never feel like it's a good time.
  9. How in the world he doesn't trip on that cape is beyond me.
  10. Sort of like that Pre Hero Marvels is a good place to start.
  11. The sad thing is after all of my work on this a few months ago, Norinn Radd found this image online. It had already been done.
  12. It's talk like this that scares away the exalted ones who would bestow upon us wisdom from their encyclopedic knowledge if only we weren't such an unsavory and unwashed rabble. Bear in mind, those that own expensive books should always be addressed as "mister," or at the very least "your excellency." Because, in addition to having the most expensive books, they also know the most and add the most value to the boards. Exactly. Now that deathlok and JC are on vacation this place should be wall-to-wall BLUE-BLOODS. Haven't we been told that the grand Viziers of the collecting world are lurking and would dane to post if not for the unseemly and scrutinizing spoonheads among us? Yet one of these " " frightens them away faster than a pigeon can find a statue.
  13. Yes it was very good. Agreed. Apparently some feel that way. I think it's misguided frustration on their part. Here a guy shows up and breaks his silence after being whispered about for years. We all know that it was probably just a one post-shot-in-the-dark and he ain't coming back. Nor is he going to scan images of his books. This in itself is frustrating certain people and they are lashing out against collectors of $5 -$300 books like they are the problem. If we could just get rid of the people that don't have high grade Action comics then the world would spin better as it aligns itself within the galaxy of bliss. Yep This is well said. It's very easy and Convenient to blame the average poster on these boards for the reason Stan Lee isn't here (and others). Pure lazyness on the part of the finger pointer. And getting very old. Hasn't necessarily happened in this thread but seems to be a growing trend.
  14. "What we have her is a failure to communicate"
  15. I call a lot of people Mister or sir. Give me time and I'll even call Butters sir...just comes naturally. I assure you it had nothing to do with what books some dude has or is rumored to have. There's a kabillion books I salute over Inactive#1 (and I'm not worried about so-called blasphemy) Besides....When I arrived here (way back when) greggy sent me a PM telling me to call him Sir. I still have it. And by using the term Mister, I was illustrating to Mr. Zaid that things weren't exactly as out of hand as his panicky typed post indicated.
  16. Great cover! One of these days I'm going to have to start collecting books with "Roman" themes. Sam Savitt. None of his covers deserve Short Bus status -- Oh I agree as I truly love these Dell's. But I've been keeping the younger comic buyer in mind as far as the short bus goes. The guy spending multiples on Spider-man's newest costume change probably wouldn't give Ben Hur a second glance. I've been digging every book in this thread. (Well except for the car wash cover)
