  1. He who dares, wins. Can't you take a joke? You definitely bought one. I'd buy it for £17 if I saw it for sale, I wouldn't think twice. It'd give me a proper belly laugh every time I looked at it
  2. You paid $17 too much! It's funny though. Definitely the worst cover I ever saw
  3. eBay them for sure. Minimum start price auction to end around 7-9pm on a Sunday. Your ASM #361 will do very well, not so sure the rest but good luck.
  4. If you have ever bought on message boards, Instagram, or Facebook, please rate your biggest issues as a buyer. I haven't, so I tried skipping the question but it wouldn't let me... I bought my whole collection from eBay, just eBay. No comics shops, no shows, nowhere else at all. 99% of it came by way of auction because I do not like 'buy it now' and the jacked up prices. I try to buy cheap, that's my most important factor. My default search is - Silver Age, Auctions only, Lowest price first. I find bargains that way and have had some real diamonds in the rough There's are dealers who use the 99p auction format weekly. I try to steer clear of them because they have a good following and the books attract more bids and higher prices than I like. I look for private sellers, I use watchcount to gauge interest and I set an alarm on my phone and be there for the last two minutes, a bid in the last five seconds normally seals the deal. It's hit and miss in the UK, sometimes it's as though there's hardly any competition at all, other times the bids skyrocket and it leaves me thinking WTF. I guess there's just not a huge amount of collectors over here. No bad thing really, less collectors means less money and longer runs for me. I will use buy it now on occasion but for the purpose of this survey - MOAR AUCTIONS!
  5. Baa baa black sheep, have you any wool? No sir, no sir, just ASM 361
  6. All that because I asked him if he was having beans on toast for his tea? And he needed the dough from his criminal masterplan to buy food
  7. This guy is borderline crazy he has shown me a receipt for food bill of £100+ and a photo of his mistress in her underwear, claiming it as evidence he isn't a complete bum, a criminal and a total loser, he tells me he is a.... besteven-96: I’m actually a paediatric doctor on about £94 grand a year and did 9 years medical training ... so yeah. besteven-96: Lol I’m actually having dinner at the ivy at the lanes but nice one. You’re a very weird person. Deffo a serial killer. Anyway must dash, items to sell and all. Feel free to bid! besteven-96: Get your bid in dude. Quite a few watchers and bids now. Don’t want you to miss out Thanks again Ps good luck with the war hammer sales you absolute dork 😂😂😂 besteven-96: See my bill? Couple of comics there ... Enjoy your Asda steak mate! New message from: besteven-96 (20Yellow Star) You ever get home from work after a nice £120 meal and then you get sent this by your mistress? Maybe she’ll help me flog some comics after I flog her. What do you think? No harm eh Enjoy your w**k ... I baited him... I admit it and I enjoyed it too. But thinking about it, it's quite sad really. He's dishonoring the name of an absolute legend, destroying his own self respect (If he has any) and blackening his name as an Englishman all at once. I think it's a sign of the times and it's very disturbing what good would this fool be as a father? Just imagine that! It doesn't bear thinking about. Maybe I am a dork, (Dr.X called us all dork's in his contest ) But how can this cretin call anyone, anything, he wants locking up in a cell with padded walls hahaha
  8. Hammer this guy with messages of support for what he's doing. He truly deserves it. And please report his items to eBay so they're pulled and he is warned. Here - eBay Also, if anyone knows how to get his full address I'd be interested to know.
  9. Pull the trigger before it's too late. Just don't go pointin' no gun around
  10. Oh definitely! And I'm sure there's people who are doing it. The bump in price makes it very much a worthwhile endeavour. I've seen talk of loose periods in the grading standards and tight, not sure what truth is in it (trainee's perhaps) I wouldn't want to dip my toes in those waters anyway, because on the flip I've seen some fugly books with grades that look too high. And I've seen this here which rings very true - buy the book, not the grade.
  11. Raw is a gamble. CGC is a sure bet. I'd rather buy raw books for bargain prices than pay a huge price for something already graded. If something comes my way that's old and high grade I don't need a case and label to tell me exactly how high the grade is, I can confidently call it to within a grade or three and I'm ok with that. It's a fun hobby afterall and I try not to take it too seriously. The difference in 9.6 and 9.8 prices for example is ridiculous to me. Give me the 9.6 ! But there are perfectionists out there to who it's 9.8 or nothing. CGC must be a sellers dream. How often do you see 'no returns on CGC books' it takes the guesswork out of the whole equation and it lets a book be sold for the absolute maximum price. I'm looking to hit the jackpot, I'm not looking to pay a jackpot price for a jackpot book that's already graded and slabbed
  12. So can I make a mil on eBay? I didn't look at an actual Stan sig prior to drawing these spiders and they took all of twenty seconds, but immediately I realise, my attempts are better than his!
  13. Wow, this guy is quick to reply. And utterly vile too! Here's some of the barrage of messages he sent me after I told him I knew what he was doing!... Good luck swear filter! what? Okay dude ... we got all these done at the meet and greet at London super comic con 6 years ago. We have all the pics. But I’m sure you deffo know what you’re on about. Bye now you We got 15 free sigs you . Don’t comment when you know all. Bye loser 😂😂😂😂 Stan’s estate? I’m sure they’ll talk to you and pay attention you loser. Go back to wanking off in your parents basement. Bye bye Ps I won’t even read your messages. Got stuff to sell yo Blah blah blah blah You boring Bye WHAT A POS! I sincerely hope this guy gets cancer! Or AIDS or something much worse like an art lesson from Liefeld!
  14. Another loser! eBay Makes me sick to think there are people out there trying to profit from Stan's death. I have zero sympathy for these insufficiently_thoughtful_persons on eBay placing bids on such junk. WTF are they thinking?! The only signature I'd trust in, is one I got myself or one in a yellow label CGC case. And that is the sad truth of it.
  15. I've had some real gems in the past week or so. Cost a bit but by heck they're worth it! The X-Men #1 I sold for a profit on eBay in less than 48 hours of owning it. It just wasn't to be mine, I had hoped it be better. Then got some others from the same seller and lots more from other people too. All on eBay. The stars most definitely aligned last week. Well pleased with them
  16. Set up a second eBay account and call yourself THEGRABBAGKING swipe suitable pictures of mega keys and sell the lot to suckers hoping to hit the jackpot
  17. Well that doesn't sound encouraging at all. Shipping out of England I've had problems with PO boxes in the past. As little time as possible should books be in the postal system. When I get me first submission together (working on it) I will drive to London and drop them in the new office there, indeed I think that's the only way possible here. Small island tho, it'll be worth the drive I think
  18. Fully agree! There are some Marvel and DC movies I just couldn't sit through
  19. Well, they're still comics. New and unread and pristine with gorgeous covers. They can grace my wall and they are cheap! On the flip, I buy old comics and I read those. And they are expensive. It's a funny game this is
  20. Doesn't sound strange at all, no. Does my reasoning for buying select issues sound strange to you?
  21. And this is the best of all Artgerm covers for me. Absolutely stunning!
