  1. I only collect Namor the Submariner and Spiderman in the black suit. I prefer commissions or old pin ups . I complied list artists I’m still actively searching for or trying to get a commission from Namor: John Byrne John Buscema ( Avengers 1980s pages ) Bruce Timm Alex Ross Spiderman Black Suit Clayton Crain Gabriele Dell’Otto ( fully painted private piece This year has been slower than 2019. I added Jim Lee, Simone Bianchi, Jae Lee, Esad Ribic , Dike Ruan, Mike Zeck , Rick Leonardi , Ron Frenz, Charles Vess So far 2020 has only yielded one piece but what a major one it was. A convention sketch of Namor done by the late Bill Everett. A personal grail for me! I’m really determined to land a Bruce Timm Namor somehow so I’ve kept my focus there and let go of some great Subby art staying focused on my goals!
  2. Anyways the piece sold in 2006 on Heritage and is legitimate Bill Everett piece. Price tag in 2006 was $ 419.00 US I’m sure it’s worth just a little more today .
  3. Easy there ok! You don’t know me what did I do wrong ? how can they be “not easy to find but have abundant supply” . Makes no sense . There is no supply . If you can produce those 7 images I’d love to add them to my archive as I collect images for record.
  4. PSA/DNA can authenticate signatures and evaluate wether sig and art were done at same time I’m sure . I don’t think they actual verify art but I’m not sure
  5. Totally agree with that . I’ve got a good eye for line work and signatures . It’s something I learned more with paying attention to my fav artists . I’m no expert but have a trained eye I guess
  6. Most art I own from periods before 90s have little or no Provenance and yet nobody questions if it’s real . The art kinda speaks for itself . Only examples I have are Charles Vess. Both are real deal but I guess one could argue how do I know and wouldn’t be able to give answer.
  7. I’m sorry I thought I was being bashed . No worries I agree . It’s up to owners to get authentication through third party .
  8. I figured people would come on here a bash . It’s ok. The art is legit that price quote is not . Getting provanance. What examples are you looking for exactly ? I’m curious what’s needed . If this was drawn for someone at a convention in 60s or 70s what could you possibly get
  9. You know what people do ? Obviously from that post I made . Not everyone is tied into boards some go after art in that fashion . Not your cup tea your choice . I’ve been buying Namor art for years . I have some great artists in my collection . A Namor pin up was no easy find I def wouldn’t even be heard by an owner with ludicrous offer 4-700.
  10. I’m confused ? 7 headshots in last 50 years is abundant ? I’ve googled searched the out forums and collectors pages and I only have handful of scans. They are extremely hard to find . I own 2 Charles Vess Spiderman pieces from 85 & 86 to draw a parallel ive onky ever found 8 drawings he did privately of Spidey . He was around for much shorter time. Point being 1939-1972 only seven headshots I’d say that’s rare .
  11. These don’t come up often that’s fact . You don’t need to worry about provenance with third party art grading . If you need a picture of Bill sitting with art well good luck with that . In late 60s and early 70s that’s wasn’t a thing . Just seeing these drawings is a pleasure . now back to topic which was price . The quoted price was a joke . That’s that. You can’t buy these at that price and there is not enough supply that’s fact ! If you like pages they are easier to find and pricey but there . I personally like pin ups and Namor Everett is not easy to find . Period
  12. One more thing I wanted to add . A 50 year old drawing using old style paper and marker is absolutely fine by me if it did fade a little . It’s half a century old we are not grading comics here !
  13. The last sketch similar to this sold years ago . Final price with buyers premium was 1600+ US and it was more 1960s take on character . That being said you’d never find this type of drawing for 5-700.00 US that’s laughable . That’s pricing people wish they could get. It comes down to how bad do you want to own something there is almost no supply of Only two examples I could find 2009 sold on Heritage $776.00 2014 sold on Heritage $1673.00 both included buyers premium and the 2014 version looked more of 60s style Namor. Heritage went on to say they have only ever offered three Namor sketches like these so they are uncommon . The prices quoted above I’m sorry I don’t agree with 4-700 US? A modern commission 11 x 17 averages 300 US that seems to be a standard price . How the heck does someone value a vintage Everett Namor that?
  14. I can wait no prob . I think sometimes life happens delays happen that’s cool. This was not the case . It’s repetitive predatory behaviour . You know people that are fans ( as was I ) will send money to you full well knowing deep down your intent is to rip them off . let’s not sugar coat this or feel sorry for a guy who does this . It’s terrible ! It’s criminal and completely unacceptable.
  15. I’ve gotten some art form big names and there has been no issue at all. A few took longer than expected but the communication was excellent and kept me confident that all is moving forward . This guy seems to be a broken record and reading posts that go back to 2012 people complained about this exact same scam. It’s too bad . His art is awesome he’s not .
  16. I wasn’t given slightest hint in almost two months that my commission had even started or no tracking info . I started to worry when customers contacted me saying they had nothing sent to them they purchased finished art months before me . I can’t wrap my head around not shipping a finished piece of artwork ? Show me the customer you’re a legit artist . Maybe I can wait longer for a commission but when you don’t send me the art , don’t answer my questions and even more bizarre force me to file with PayPal to get a refund ? Why ? Are you hoping I gifted you cash Instead of doing business transaction via PayPal, so you can disappear like you intended to begin with ? Sounds logical to me . im not that dumb to do that . I did a lot of reading about your behaviour and was willing to give you a chance . Why not ? Well you failed colossally pal!
  17. I hear that’s only way to get art from him is directly . Does he have drug problem? His behaviour is that of crack addict . He needs quick cash for his fix screws people over then pawns the art off later in bulk like a pawn shop . He’s terrible . I could never hang this guy on my wall with other awesome artists I have knowing what he does to people . I refuse to support that!
  18. To show you what kind of crook this guy is , this morning on CAF he posted the very art he sold me in March again!!!!! WTF you shameless piece of garbage . One day after I had to fight to get my money refunded through PayPal you post it again . Im embarrassed for you . Really
  19. Here is art on my page and the story to go with it .... funny how these posts initiated a reaction from Mr Stroman but I’m still waiting for PayPal refund because even that’s pending . I only got one response from this guy after I paid him that was after he realized PayPal was involved. Loser https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1630381
  20. Can’t even get a refund for art he clearly wasn’t sending I had to file with PayPal . Class act here folks .
