  1. I agree totally. In all my comics read on Marvels first hero I think this version captures Namor the absolute best . There is not a single piece that conveys emotion of our moody King quite like the Lee/ Williams masterpiece. I don’t think Scott is selling that anytime soon. Tells you something if the original owner wants it in his own personal collection
  2. It’s possible I implanted the idea without saying a word . Honestly I think Jim loved that fact I asked for a weird character he once drew ages ago. So he took the opportunity to do this . Maybe he always wanted to. My communication with Jim was limited as the event ( signing and photo op was madness in Toronto on Saturday ) he couldn’t breath. So Lady Luck or a subliminal implant either way I scored for me 😜.
  3. It’s all good. I just love my piece and don’t care about anything else . What I can’t wrap my head around which is more of an interesting discussion than Jim Lees prices ( which is nobody’s business anyways ) is how in 26 years nobody had asked for this Namor piece to be drawn It’s one of his best pieces ever. Mind blowing
  4. Scott Williams owns the original splash page so I feel lucky owning redo. I can’t imagine what that published art would sell for I’m thinking 20K+ which makes my piece the only achievable way into cool Lee art I actually want.
  5. Funny thing is I haven’t seen a single commission on this thread I didn’t like . All amazing and I bet everyone cherishes them as personal grails . I do . That’s all that matters
  6. Well Bruce Timm charges 1800-2000 US for 8 x 11” or some like that . Yes its full colour but I don’t connect with Bruce because BTAS ended two decades ago! Jim Lee is one of greatest artists of all time and having a piece from him is like owning a Kirby or Ditko for those that grew up in that era. Getting art from Jim is not easy and moving forward I don’t see him doing private art publicly again because he does not need the money . Trust me! Albert explained it’s been 15 years since a proper commission op opened up and it most likely will close in near future . Jim knows what he’s worth and sets his prices. I also learned the hard way through Albert that you don’t tell Jim what to draw . You get what he gives you . He left Marvel for these same reasons and was a huge success. That’s how he works. I asked for Namor I had no clue he would do a modern Hommage to that classic grail splash from 96 so I was blown away. Maybe it’s not for everyone but he was one of the artists I had to have a Namor from.
  7. Toronto Fan Expo 2019 Well it was worth the wait . Jim Lee made a life long Namor fans dream come true. People always like to compare pieces and Instagram has been lit up over this commission. The original was done by two masters in their field . We all know it was a grail piece . Jim did this for me in his hotel room and I couldn’t be happier . It’s a rare Marvel character Commission done by one of the greatest ever. I’m so happy it’s mine! old genius vs new genius .... it’s still genius .
  8. Just in from Jamie Biggs. This piece is ridiculous . 20” x 30”
  9. Simone Bianchi and Humberto Ramos. Both pieces I just love .
  10. Here are my Humberto Ramos commissions from SDCC 2019. It’s first time he’s ever done the trifecta ( headshot, torso , full body mini version ) . Hope to land 11 x 17” in near future to round out this unique set.
  11. My most cherished piece is 1985 Black Spiderman by Charles Vess. The McFarlane looking piece was done by Jamie Biggs and it’s pound for pound one of the best drawings I got for the money . It’s 15 x 20” piece loaded with detail.I’m also very lucky to have Gab Dell’Otto black Spidey and a stunner by Jae Lee
  12. Hell no bro all is good I’m trying to keep signing under raps as I’m not only person looking at getting stuff signed. I don’t need extra competition until I have my spot secured. Obviously there will be way more demand than open slots . Once I’ve confirmed I’ll pass info no prob
  13. Still hunting the “ one “ damn it . I’m going to find a raw copy somewhere in the wild . I won’t give up trying
  14. Just listed I’m stunned I missed this as it was for sale
  15. Just found this thread I love ASM collectors and reading their journeys on how they collected or still collect this dream run ( for me anyways ) . I’ve been fortunate enough to over last few years make some incredibly well timed grabs in trades and I’m down to missing only one issue to have a complete run ASM 1-819. Issue #4 the first Sandman is not hard to find I’m trying to stick to great eye appeal and no grades lower than 4.5. Raw is great too. Annuals I need 1-4,7 the rest I have. Sitting on these beauties at times can be tempting as nobody knows how the “ values “ will really be affected over time . I love these comics for that reason I collected them but I def don’t want to lose while the market is red hot. Over time like many before me I’ll have to make tough choices I’m sure. i also collect ASM Canadian price variants I’m close to getting an entire run of those , just missing 251,252,256,258,259,261,262,265,268,275, 276. the last grail book is a variant done by Dell’Otto as I’m big Spiderman Dell’Otto cover collector ( I have all of them ) is issue 667. Here are a few of my books I hope you guys like 😜
