Here are a couple gorgeous pieces I just got back from framers . Both are Angel Medina cover recreations Sensational Spiderman 23 & 35

It was special thing I started because I wanted complete character study of Black suit and last summer at SDCC I had Humberto do 3 sketches in all forms he offered I hoped in December I would get lottery spot . Initially I didn’t make the cut but because conventions got cancelled this year I was contacted couple months later and offered a spot I jumped on it .

You have to win an email lottery to even be given a spot . He only offers 10 spots but each extra character people add counts as a spot . So the 11” x 17”S are hard to come by I don’t discuss price on forums .

So my two cents on framing .... I love my artwork . So much so whatever I buy I frame because the point of collecting my fav artists is to enjoy them everyday up on my walls. I think it’s completely irrelevant to put stuff in portfolios and boxes tucked away and if you do that you shouldn’t collect art it’s called hoarding . I frame my pieces as I get them because it can get costly if you wait to do them in groups. I have custom framer I trust and they know exactly how I like to stick to themes . I always use acid free mattes and best glass I can for UV protection . It adds zero value to your art so keep that in mind but when done properly really does the art justice on a wall. Most of my art I use black matte I prefer it to give image more pop but will use coloured accent matte lines to draw colour from some of the art. No two frames are alike except for my mirrored Spiderman museum pose pieces. I love hand picking each frame but keeping the look on theme with the rest I keep my Spiderman art with Spidey and the Namor stuff with Namor and the results are stunning . Work in progress but you get idea:

Jim Lee commissions may not be worth it to some , on the flip side I think his Marvel stuff published or not is more desirable because he does so little of it . Only time will tell . Choice published art is so inflated and imo almost everything in this hobby is. My opinion but if these MCU movies didn’t drive the interest into comics and art it would be more stagnant. At some point this will taper off big time . It always does

It means it’s a lot more than last year . What I paid for my piece is not even an option on his list . The background thing is confusing . Anyways my understanding is simple bust torso sketch with shapes and shading in backgrounds is entry level 5K USD. anything more detailed in background 6-7K . Extra characters or full body shots with backgrounds will be 10+ guaranteed . I’ve dealt with Albert any add on is huge in pricing

Listen I’m wondering why they don’t offer a better updated authenticating service . It’s not realistic for people to be there all the time at a show where some artists like for example Alex Ross never comes to Canada , why couldn’t CGC offer an authentication service ? Curious they do everything else . This issue was very limited and signed and I like it that’s why . I also think it’s really bad when your competitor offers this service and CGC does not ! peace

Fair enough . It looks like that census will remain 0 graded signature series . It’s mind blowing because this feature was not offered in 2009 if I’m not mistaken . CGC has jumped leaps and bounds in what they do for the customer but these older books that were 100% signed and numbered by Ross should have some recourse . Why couldn’t CGC hire experts on comic signatures only similar to a PSA service to get yellow labels? It would be a service used many times I’m sure of it

I have no doubt people will get drawings now because I’ve made a social media stink . He will go back to his old ways again . It’s a shame . All I wanted was the art I paid for . He told me 4 weeks for new commission and the spider piece was already done . Burned me on both .

Back in 2009 Alex Ross did a very limited sketch variant signed and numbered edition . From what I can see in cgc census they have been zero graded copies since it’s release . This is obviously because in those days I’m sure witnessed cgc signing were few and far between . Is it possible to get cgc to look at these special cases in a different light as these were numbered and came with COAs from Dynamic Forces . A sub variant of a variant . I have a copy I want it graded but do not want a green label . I know this is legit . It’s a shame imo. Loophole in this system that could be improved imo especially for older books.

He removed my piece which he did relist on CAF the same day I was forced to file PayPal claim to get my money back . I won’t remove my posts as someone out there I hope will read these stay away from this piece of trash . i left last comment in his listing.

He’s so bad at ripping people off it’s mind blowing . I paid for that finished art in March. He posts these on Instagram , people pay him for finished art that never ships . How can you post a new Spiderman piece when the old one never went out . He’s a scammer . Maybe because of my posts all over the net some people may get art . I’d never hang this guy on my wall . He doesn’t deserve it
