Determining value and rarity of Copper Newsstands

No it’s rarity for high grade books . Most dealers don’t have 9.8s in numbers so when they come to auction like ASM 301 I posted a pic of the prices surge because of demand . -

It’s not spec anymore buddy . It’s been few years of this now and high grade newsstands out perform directs The newsstand was just that a comic that was manhandled at 7/11 stores etc and probability of perfect books is low ASM 238,239,252,298,299,300,301,316,361 are great examples of huge premiums that’s just spiderman -

Look at last sale of 9.8 Canadian . It was 7500.00 USD nothing hokum there my friend . Sales don’t lie . So my stats are slightly off so what . I didn’t expect to get attacked this morning on threads for stating the obvious . For huge keys in 9.8 newstands they are premium compared to regulars and Canadian versions even more . Bye now Could care less about that dive Winnipeg or Doug’s opinion . Sales data are there . -

You in can trust this . They are 1% of total run . I live here . In Canada you had three major city hubs for comics , Vancouver , Toronto , Montreal . Finding high grade 9.8 Canadians is next to impossible . Hence the major major premiums keys get . You don’t have to collect Canadian but if it was hulk 181 variant it would be all the rage -

I picked this a while back for $400.00 Canadian . I don’t see many high grade newsstand versions come up . Any info or value on this as I’m actually kinda lost . I know 9.8 sells for crazy money now -

I don’t know about a million . That would be entering realm of detective comics 27, marvel comics 1 , Superman 1 . I don’t think it’s that caliber of comic . It’s rare in 9.8 those other comics are rare period . Like less than 50 copies or something like that . -

Until what? Next announcements in MCU and then it doubles again . The whole industry is going to take a punt in the nuts if this doesn’t stop imo -

I’d sell so fast at these prices I’m not kidding . Buy low grades if I could if I couldn’t who cares . It’s the price of a house ( more tangible as an asset than the comic ) . Anything could happen and poof value just drops -

Not published art but a special piece imo. Last September I secured a spot to get another Esad Ribic piece . I knew what I wanted without a shadow of a doubt . I kept quiet and waited . Today I was sent scans of my finished art. Sub-Mariner 6 ( 1968 ) recreation , an hommage to what is easily my fav cover in Namor’s SA run. A fitting tribute to John Buscema’s original . The idea was to capture the unmistakable feel of the original in a modern tone . I asked that the scene be made to look like it was underwater . Esad did John Justice here . A stunner

14” x 20” approx I measured my framed Ribic Doom & Namor piece it’s 13.5” x 19” that’s because the framing hid a little of paper edge . I believe the single figure commission is slightly smaller than two character but don’t quote me on that -

His schedule gets tight with work he has to do with Marvel and limited cons. I ordered this last September so it’s been a long wait . He does his absolute best to hook fans up. He will honour any commissions he takes on but there was no set time to receive them . If you’re cool with that it’s worth the wait imo. I need one more to finish my silver age Namor trilogy …. -

Sub-mariner 6 Recreation by Esad Ribic Art was done July 27/2021 at Anthony’s Comicbook Art shop (in house) in New Jersey. It was a special event where Esad flew in to catch up on commissions that were delayed due to Covid and his obligations at Marvel doing the Eternals comics . I’m very happy with the result . The only direction I gave was it had to be identifiable as Subby 6 cover and I wanted his take on it ( modern version ) so the scene to take place underwater . He did a great job . One of my fav artists out there . -
