Not sure if it's ever been proven which is the first print. All we know for sure is there are way less copies of the "no dot" version.

Auction has just started and set a new record for Action #1.

Well I'm not, but it's cool to see records broken, it was this same book that broke the million dollar threshold back in 2010. -

Exciting time for the hobby 😁 -
Are prices still climbing or have they eased up a bit???
thedude replied to InfantTerrible's topic in Comics General
I thought so too, I am trying to upgrade my copy, feel like this is the next big "must have" Joker book taking off the way Tec #69 did a few years ago. -
Nice centering on that #44, that one is almost always misaligned.

The "Early" Action Comics Club (#1-24)
thedude replied to Wayne-Tec's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
That book was so fresh, only a 1-2 inch spine split on bottom edge keeping it from grading higher. -

I remember when you were picking them up, such a fun thing to watch. -
Put me down for the Superman #5, more iconic image on cover.

long time board member, haven't sold here in a long time, but if you need references let me know. first the rules: Paypal or Money Order accepted. If you need another form of payment, PM me to discuss. US shipping only, Lower 48 states only. First " I'll Take It " in the thread wins, so if we agree to something via PM it is not final until the "I'll Take It" is posted in the thread. This just eliminates all potential problems. I reserve the right not to sell to anyone on my do not deal with list. Payment expected within three days of request. Time payments are an option. Just PM me first to setup a time arrangement that we both agree on. Return Policy -No Returns on CGC Graded Books barring some extraordinary circumstances, So make sure to look over pics/scans of book and ask any questions before committing to purchase. Overnight shipping with insurance and signature will be at my cost. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- X-Men #1 cgc 4.0 ow/white pages, no Marvel chipping, dark green colors, staple tears on back cover. (no trades at this time) asking $11,995

How many Key books are there in the Allentown Collection?
thedude replied to action1kid's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
I was just going by what James said himself when he was on Vinnie's "Comic Zone" podcast, when Vinnie asked him what he thought the Tec 27 would grade at. Maybe I remember it wrong, I'll have to go back and listen to it again. Just remember him saying " there was nothing wrong with it" -

thedude replied to action1kid's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
I know there is a Detective 27 supposed to be around a 9.6 according to Jim Payette who found them, plus Cap #1 and Tec #38. -
I would definitely sell as individual pages. I know I'd be bidding on a few
-
Looks like a very nice copy!
-
Can't believe how these single pages have jumped in price. This can't go for more than the page 2 Joker splash can it?
-
Yeah, looks like the page 1 auction is still going. https://www.ebay.com/itm/363868604853?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=K4p9u-mcRRG&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=MdQvtLFCTAu&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
-
Oh, sorry you didn't snag it. Definitely in nice condition compared to some of the other single page 2s floating around.
-
Surprised no one posted about this sale, highest price ever for this single page no? Seller is very legit as most know. $12,100 for page two only. https://www.ebay.com/itm/144486463158?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=K4p9u-mcRRG&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=MdQvtLFCTAu&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

ComicConnect's Next Event Auction has started posting books !
thedude replied to batman_fan's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
fantastic results on the Batman #1, congrats Clark, can't believe how hot the market is right now, crazy. -
Yep, was doing the "chin rubbing" emoji cuz you never know if it's an actual bid or seller bid that amount himself.
-
Already got a bid if $50k on it.
-
both, I buy some things I know will go up in value so that when I sell, I can fund stuff I like to buy as a collector, that's what makes the hobby tick. just wish I hadn't sold the 3 copies of AF15 I've had so darn soon.
-
nice to put a face to the name after all these years. great collection, I know which ones I'll be going after hard. fantastic run!
