  1. first, feel free to post more often, and second, incredible book !!
  2. Kentucky has been real good for vintage books lately.
  3. thanks Mike and everyone else, yeah the #20 is a tough book in unrestored condition, for whatever reason, especially when compared to surrounding issues, there are only 9 Blue labels and 1 Qualified, and then 7 PLODs.
  4. you got it Gator, that's 100 % correct. but your pickups are well worth it!.... congrats! we need a new group shot! coming soon, probably this weekend. (thumbs u
  5. yes it's the same one,. after seeing what the 7.0 and 4.5 copies of Action #20 went for in the last Heritage auction, I figured that I may not have another shot at an unrestored copy at a reasonable price (if you can call these prices reasonable). so I hit the BIN, I also saw that a raw restored copy ended on eBay at $1,400
  6. Well, It's Friday, and what better way to celebrate the weekend than to post my 2 new GA Action acquisitions. after these two pickups, I probably won't be buying for a long while but it was worth it. special thanks to Jeff (nearmint) for the tip on the #43.
  7. wow, those Caps are just incredible !
  8. that one has always been one of my favs Mike, nice pickup !
  9. I always heard that DC didn't know how popular the character was until after issue #7 after which they started putting him on the cover more frequently.
  10. that's a beauty Mr. B. very clean and bright cover !
  11. both very good reasons to sell, I'm glad to see he got some strong prices on his books.
  12. has anybody heard from Slacker lately ? is he leaving the hobby, or maybe just switching his collecting focus ?
  13. Slacker had listed a bunch of his CGC graded Actions for sale all at once, I think when bidders see a grouping of GA CGC graded material all from the same seller, they are more apt to think that the seller is legit and feel comfortable bidding higher,. the one that still surprises me is the Action #63 3.0 for $500. great war cover, but I think that's the most I've seen paid for this book in 3.0. on the other hand, the sky is falling, the sky is falling !!!
  14. you aren't the only one that has noticed. I really wanted a CGC 4.5 #62 on ebay last week. It had white pages. I figured $350 to $400 It went for $500 This was a 4.5 yes, and the 3.0 #63 also went for $500.
  15. wonderful collection Mike, that #52 sure looks sharp !
  16. You're not kidding. The front cover presents MUCH nicer than a typical 4.5. Awesome addition. the back cover must be missing, awesome book George !!
