  1. The Clink 22 9.0, 23 9.4, and 24 9.0 were owned by Robert Rogovin (Four Color Comics) and sold through Clink in Oct 07. I can say I am pretty sure all 3 books came from the same collector/collection as they exhibit similar defects. If you really want to differentiate would probably be easier to call the books something like the Four Color GL Showcase books as just saying Clink is probably confusing since they sell a million books a year or whatever.
  2. anyone? Anyone? Western Penn hidden somewhere out there. I imagine there has to be a Bethlehem copy also but out of sight out of mind. The Western Penn 22, 23, 24 sold as a group for $1000 in 1988 to a west coast collector. Tom That is a bargain Not in 1988 it wasn`t. I saw the Bethlehem copies of 22 - 24 back in about 1996. I think the 22 was 8.0ish with the 23 and 24 much nicer. The 24 was graded 9.0 by CGC. For some reason I thought the 23 was an 8.0.

  4. wow nice copy, so I haven't been following the hype as much. What do people expect this book to go for ? I imagine it has a pretty high reserve on it.
  5. Nice copy of 22, very nicely centered also something you don't see often on this book. Most copies have a white strip showing or even a diagonal miscut which isn't so nice to look at.
  6. With all due respect to your books, the Mohawk Valley is the worst pedigree ever recognized by CGC. I had a number of books from this pedigree and eventually got rid of them all. None of them graded well as they tended to have that 'burnt' appearance, tanning and very poor page quality. I picked them up in the early 1990's, before CGC, Internet, etc. Structurally, they often looked good, in the 8.5 - 9.0 range but nothing graded higher than 8.0 for me because of the poor interiors. Hard to disagree with Bob, If you're a PQ guy then Mohawk Valley isn't the way to go. In terms of CGC grading I know some early Mohawk Valley DC's were graded by CGC before they were really rough on interior cover tanning and got much higher grades then they would have now a days. Case in point is the Showcase 14 which graded out at 8.5 however with a notation stating "heavy tanning on the edges of the book" on the label. Sure as heck feels like a long time ago when CGC had notations on the label like that as qualifiers. With that said the 9.2 Adventure 247 looked pretty nice though I wasn't a fan at all of the 8.5 Showcase 4.
  7. please tell me a restored 1.0 is not worth anywhere near $500... even at half that it sounds crazy.
  8. Dang all you flippers/speculators need to go back to your Marvels. Nobody likes DC's and the people who actually really like these books prefer it stays that way.
  9. That's a very high price on the 23, cool cover though.
  10. Also the JLA #1 9.0 is at $14250 and still RNM. Surprised Josh let the book go up there with a reserve that high, aggressive to say the least.
  11. Since this thread hasn't been updated yet, the stained 8.0/9.0 sold for $15.8K, a far cry from the 9.0 that sold for $30K+ with the chip out of it on Heritage and the $20K just paid for the 8.5 with the big stamp on it. For a couple seconds there I thought it was going to sell in the mid $12K range, until it got bumped up a bit in the last 5 seconds.
  12. That's pretty awesome. 2 pictures for the price of 1.
  13. Should a 9.0 JLA #1 go for more than a 8.0 B&B 28? Good point, but how many people outside of the boards know that the B&B #28 was pressed? Let's face it, there are a lot of people out there that buy the label, not the book. I'm doing my darndest to get the word out. Mind you, if there is only a limited pool of HG DC buyers and you know most of them, it might have an impact on the price. Maybe the pool is growing. the pool grows when the speculators get involved. once the money and hype moves on status quo will be regained (i.e. at best 3 high grade SA DC collectors).
  14. Since they brought back the McRib they should bring back the McDLT for old times sake. I had one when I was 4 or 5, incredible.
  15. Please, please, please. Never confuse my beloved Golden Eagles of USM with those farmers at Mississippi State. USM plays UCF to try and preserve any hope of the CUSA East title. Whoops my bad. Gator, so much did it actually cost for AU to get Cam ? I'm thinking the current estimates are a bit low. I put the over/under at $500K. Gotta pay to play in the SEC.
  16. I'll give you UF. In a year where there are no elite teams we haven't seen very many ranked teams go into hostile environments for a big game and come out victors. Ugh boring week of match ups. Guess the 2nd biggest game of the week is So. Miss @ Bama but that won't be very exciting. I wanna watch UGA @ Auburn, I think Georgia will put up a good fight and make it close. Oh yeah OSU is at Texas .... OSU -7.
  17. Yeah. We need to grow some hair on our nads when we play a road game. Seriously it's getting a bit ridiculous at this point.
  18. You guys are making me cry. On another note Brandon Williams and Trey Metoyer both got their "5th star" today.
  19. you had drinks with Dupcak ? congratulations. and I think Tim may have not exactly worded that the way he wanted to.
  20. Yeah distributor spray but may as well be a stain. This book couldn't find a home for a long time, wonder how it'll do as a 9.0 as opposed to an 8.0.
  21. Very interesting and funny. The 8.0 with the stain on it that nobody wanted is now a 9.0.
  22. Gator, Which fan base acts more pathetic after getting whipped by their main rival, UTerus or FSU ?
  23. There was no Newsboy Green Lantern issues.
