  1. That pretty much covers it in my book They are the only 3 mega-keys coming to mind at the moment for DC silver age. (unless you want to count the first issues of the JLA, GL the Flash(105) as well...) SC 4 B&B 28 Adventure 247 SC 22 Flash 105 Showcase 17 B&B 34 Showcase 34 Showcase 9 Showcase 30 JLA 1 GL 1 OAW 81, 83 GI Combat 87 I think can also add Action 242 and 252 to the list.
  2. It's only a matter of time until the next DC book picks up a bit of steam after BB 28. Whether it involves movie hype or whatever many of the early DC Silver Keys are still underpriced compared to their counterparts. Once the flippers/speculators get involved all the fun begins for those who seem to revel in hyping up books.
  3. looks like a really nice copy, very clean, but asking price seems a bit much.
  4. Well I guess it was only a matter of time, 1st House of Secrets 92 9.8 up in the May Clink auction. http://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2Fauctions%2Fpreview.asp%3Fcode%3D2011may%26pg%3D4%26x%3D0%26y%3D0%23Item_886965&id=886965
  5. Wow 60 copies that is crazy. Congrats on having such a great copy.
  6. yeah they do, and all their kids are sent through an AAU runner to play for texas.
  7. it should considering 6.0s are selling in the 9K range.
  8. Hey, that's awesome! I really like it! (thumbs u But why did he not colour it like an actual cover? I'm guessing you're not an OA collector. Very nice stuff btw.
  9. think there's a reason for that. time to sell before the movie comes out.
  10. That's a great looking copy. Not that I have any sympathy though for Metropolis trying to flip it at such a premium. Has to be consigned, Metro is still in the business of selling books. Sure they are on the high end of things but not that high. Not so sure on it being such a great looking copy either, can take a closer look at the Heritage scans but I wasn't impressed.
  11. You can always just get the 8.5 Mohawk Copy, up on Metro for the low, low price of 75K. What is with this book that make people crazy about pricing. http://www.metropoliscomics.com/load_bookDetails.php?id=401467&set=0
  12. next time he calls Bob ask him why he calls himself a doctor when he's a nurse.
  13. The Light Tan Showcase 24 9.0 is in the Feb Clink Auction. Wonder if there is a profit to be made off of this book. Surprised it didn't get resubbed for a PQ check. http://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAuctions%2Fsearch.asp%3FFocusedOnly%3D1%26where%3Dauctions%26title%3Dshowcase%2B%26x%3D9%26y%3D12%26ItemType%3DCB%23Item_876703&id=876703
  14. Great book and great buy, really hope you decide to keep it. Way too much flipping going on and it would be nice for someone who got a great deal to keep a book like this one in their long term collection. That crease looks pretty big... even without the chip it's hard to see the book above the 6.5 range I think.
  15. I think I have to disagree, I think 24 is the easiest of the 3 to find in nicer condition.
  16. Bronze Age Pedigrees ? I know nothing of such thing...
  17. Is it annoying that the person who has the Tanned Showcase 24 9.0 listed on Clink continues to post in this same thread pushing the book while pretending they don't own it ?
  18. If I remember correctly he purchased the book then immediately listed it on his website for something like double that number. I'm sure that didn't help perception of the book, I don't know about you but I don't like feeling like a sucker. At a certain point it probably would have been prudent if he had just accepted what the value of the book was instead of stubbornly continuing to state that he doesn't need to sell when most everyone knew how badly he wanted to let the book go at that point. Either way I'm sure it'll find a buyer soon enough and it is sad that the book has such a negative stigma attached to it. It is a great book and every bit a 9.2 of the most important DC Silver Age book.
  19. I think the lack of copies coming to market is directly related to the prices that the book is getting. If prices ever rise you are going to see them but for people looking to buy now it can't be fun knowing that. I guess it's not a tough book but I don't think I'd call it plentiful either. If demand ever went up to match the price levels of the book there aren't that many copies to go around like a Brave and the Bold 28. 1 copy each graded at 9.0 - 9.6 2 at 8.5, 6 at 8.0, 4 at 7.5 and 3 at 7.0.
  20. the race is on ! buy all your Showcase 4s before the movie hype begins ?!@ Easy money for everyone keep buying Flash movie in 2014 !@ Seriously it was 1 bidder for 1 book that sold for more then it should have. 2 weeks prior in an auction format a 7.5 sold for 12.6K.
  21. Stupid Rob Rogovin! I hear you. Unheard of grade. Right now 22 and 24 does not exist higher than 9.0. Nah, I`m mad at him because of the timing of his sale. Would have been your collection. Would you have sold it with your GL1 or just keep it? No he would have sold it to someone else cause that someone else would have bothered him incessantly until he did. showcase22gr1959 how many copies of said book do you have now ? Going to be a dumping frenzy before the movie comes out I assume ?
