  1. My first Showcase came in last week. It's in bad shape but its complete and i'm so glad to have it. How can call myself a Flash collector and not have at least one of these 10 cent-ers?
  2. I love these Strange Adventures covers!
  3. Wow...The Carey Bates?! He was a Flash Fan from the very beginning then. Yep, he finally made sure old RF got what was coming to him.
  4. I was looking around for him on the internet the other day and got some very confusing results. I thought maybe i'd check and see what he had to offer these days.
  5. 147 anyone? We have arrived at page 147. 2nd appearance of my favorite villain. I love to hate this guy!
  6. I'll move it up a couple of issues in the old Flash box. Thanks Jaylam!
  7. Yep, and if you look real close at this 80pg Giant you can see it includes the Showcase 13 story. Coincidence?
  8. And this just in Flash Fans!!! It is a special moment when a Flash Fan gets his first Showcase. Today I got mine! I was originally not going to go after these due to budget constraints and focus all my resources on completing the main run first, but as mentioned earlier, MCS had one in my price range (amazingly!) just before they shut down due to the pandemic. Well, when they opened last Friday I was able to order it and it came in today!!! Both Terry and KJ shared a little bit about getting their first Showcase issues so I thought maybe you all would like to share a little too. Very happy and proud to own this well loved copy. (maybe a little too well loved but how else would I afford it?) And it fits right into my collection of wayward and abused Flashes. So glad its finally found a good Flashy home to retire in.
  9. We talked about these a few pages back. I have this 80 page giant placed next after 146. Some time ago I went in and tried to place the annual and the 80 page giants in chronological order, so I believe this came out about the same time as 146.
  10. On this run (I started this latest collection in 2013) I began keeping tabs on this info too. I jot down the year I bought it, where I purchased it and any other significant info (ie leftover from the 90's collection) grade and PQ on the back of the backing boards.
  11. And wow we are already on page 146 Flash Fans! I promised my self I would not do any upgrading until I completed the run, but I came across this 146 about 2 years ago at my LCS and I couldn't resist! My original 146 was cover-less from the old 90's collection. The dealers naturally passed on it when I had to sell, so I got to keep it (but of course I always wanted one with a cover)
  12. Supes! Um..you're looking very Flashy there! It's Super Flash! This is great fun! I did not even know this existed?! I will have to get one of these eventually for the Flash collection, that and Superman 199.
  13. A gorgeous copy Jaylam!!! Anything from this era at or above 7.0 is just amazing! How did they survive all those years in such great condition!?
  14. checking now... out of curiosity. BC is lightly soiled with a corner crease as well CF is loose at one staple PQ is off white/white. I'd say it has a shot at a 5, but I would understand if it came back a 4-4.5.
  15. Thanks! Me too, or maybe at least a 4.0. I was way too harsh back then. Through the grading contests here I have really become pretty accurate. That means eventually I will have to re-evaluate about 200 comics. LoL!
  16. I love the perspective of the scene, the red sun, very different look and a unique cover indeed! Here's mine I graded years ago at 2.5 but i'm thinking its more in 3.5 range. What do you guys think?
  17. I will have to go back and read it. Was it in 144? Will post my 145 tomorrow. I believe I remember reading that comment from Carmine some years ago.
  18. Its an awesome cover! And you're right JB and CInf would be proud. I think John in particular would have flourished in this new era. He would have had so much freedom to tell more in-depth stories and develop bigger tales. Carmine could always draw what ever he envisioned out of the story and created beautiful images, but the writers of the day were limited and had only so many pages in which to wrap up the story. In this new era where story arcs take months to develop John would have had a lot of fun.
  19. I was finally able to get my comics from my sub box at MLS today. Since they have been closed for about a month, they have endeavored to start delivering them to all their subscribers. I had a months worth of Flash stored up. Issue 750 came out just prior to the outbreak so this is the first time I got to see all the beautiful tribute covers in person! Here are the tributes to the 1950's and 1960's. I thought they were well done and I'm so glad to finally have them
  20. Here's my copy. Well loved as usual ! I really like the blue. Not a fancy sky just solid and bold and I love the 3 poses of Flash there in red with the logo in yellow.
  21. Nice copy of 144 there! I love the design and how the primary colors work on this one!
