  1. I've checked 105-131 so far, no luck. Civil War and Revolutionary War but no Roman soldiers yet. Were up to 1962 in Flash. Could it have been later? (Of course I don't have 105 and 106 yet and a few others, but I've checked scans of the issues I don't have.)
  2. I believe its on the back of some of the early SA Flash comics. I will try and check for you this weekend.
  3. To me 125 is one of the best Flash covers of all time! Its dynamic, it has motion, time travel and SiFi, it has kid Flash and Flash. What do you guys think? What are your favorite Flash covers and why?
  4. I'd say it's in the 3.0-3.5 range. Great to see those early Daredevils!!!
  5. 105-350 complete run update Flash fans! I just got in a batch from Bedrock City! 7 in all. As of today I am just 62 issues away from completing the run. Nothing spectacular here but all in very nice shape 304, 305, 307,309,329, 338 and 349. These last 50 issues (300-350) have been hard to come by here in San Antonio but I was lucky to have found some in Huston about 3 hours away with a little help from my family there. (Thanks for keeping an eye out for me!) My biggest gap now is 272-282 everything else is filling in quickly. Soon all that will be left will be the odd one or two here and there and of course 105,106, 110 and 139. 117 and 112 minor keys are also needed.
  6. Last chance for 124's only one more post left on page 124. I guess me and Bill are the only ones out there with a Flash 124?
  7. I'd say its in the 2.0-2.5 range. Nice pick up though! Love those old war comics!
  8. I love seeing the old 'adventure' comics Jungle, Jumbo, Tarzan, great pulp! Great covers! Very nice pick up. I'd say it was graded fairly at 4.5. It may even come back as a 5.0 -5.5 if you were to submit it. Thanks for sharing!
  9. Great book!!! Thanks for sharing. I believe it will grade at 3.5. I'm not sure how much a press will help, lets see what some of the other boardies say. Its main issue is all the wear and tear on the spine. Amazing paper condition though! That helps a bunch.
  10. Awesome book!!! It looks like it may have had tape running down the spine at one time? Is there a spine split? I'd say 6.5 without any spine split (maybe its just foxing)
  11. I believe it's in 6.0-6.5 shape without the tear. -1.0 for the tear I believe it will grade 5-5.5.
  12. Jeeez! For the 139 alone it would have been worth the 107$!!! That was a heck of a score!
  13. 8.5 , I would grade it in the 9's if it weren't for the bottom left area and a press could help there. Nice book! Thanks for sharing!
  14. Just looking at the front cover I believe it would grade at 7.0.
  15. That's insane!!! They are beautiful books though. Makes me wonder what Flash 105 will go for after his hit movie comes out? Oh wait, that'll never happen
  16. So I am looking at it again and I believe I will stay with the 4.5. I feel the worn/abraded corners and the staple tears will be allowed at 4.5 but could keep it from going higher. Many will try and say its a 3.5 and if I were offering it for sale I would tend to sell it at that grade. But from my experiences in the last two grading contests here I believe CGC will grade it at 4.5 or at least 4.0.Please let us know how it turns out if you are planing to submit it.
  17. I believe it would grade at 4.5 but I'm grading from my phone and don't have my grading guide in hand. Its so nice to see comics from that era! Thanks for sharing! (I'll take a closer look for you this evening.)
  18. The best from my recent group 134, 151, 152 & 155 - is the 155. All of them probably under 4.0 but as stated before I am offering a home to wayward and abused Flash comics. A nice cozy archival board, Mylar sleeve and a Mip-it sheet for a teddy bear. A retirement home, if you will, for those Flashes who've lived a hard life. LOL! Some kid took a paper hole puncher to the comics code authority seal upper right, and whatever he was thinking just tried it out the thing, punching a hole right through the cover and 3 of the interior pages. Kids, gotta love 'em. But hey it made this book a whole lot more affordable for me
  19. My guess, judging from seeing two examples of this smearing, is that an over print was done on the covers at the printing plant. After the main cover was printed, they were run through a second time with the text to go inside the circle. Maybe they used a different ink, with the red being not as stable as leaded ink used on the rest of the cover. It could also be that during this second run the red plate on the press may have just been washed with solvent. Usually the pressman would run several sheets of blank or waste paper called "make ready" through the press after washing a plate, but sometimes a few could slip through like this.
