  1. Here's my beloved 119! When I sold my 2nd attempt at the Flash run in the late 90's I was left with very few comics, only the ones the comic shops didn't want, like this one and of course my 116 (eesh!) But I have come to cherish them, they are special...they are surivors, like me😀.
  2. How many Flash fans out there have Superman 199? First Flash/Supes race.
  3. Love this cover! I'll have to go over and check out the other copy.
  4. Tiny tear at the top of spine. Color has been worn off all down the spine and although this sounds really bad its common with a book that's been out of a bag and read a few times. Some times it occurs naturally at the bindary with a card stock cover as its folded. I believe it could grade 9.2 with these defects.
  5. Looks like a dimple? Like something was pressed down onto the cover. Still a great looking book. I agree with Two Piece. 9.0/9.2.
  6. I gotta get one too! Signed as well!!?? You are a fortunate Flash Fan indeed!!
  7. Hey at least it has part of its cover. My Flash 107 from '59 has no cover at all but I still love it just the same😀
  8. I think it could be fun because we would be looking at the 7 books we just graded and we'd have to make a decision as to which 5 we'd want to put forward. Which 2 books do we think we'd be willing to put aside. We may choose right or we may choose the wrong ones. It would really make you think. A very special kind of grading hell Especially, when after the round you realize you left a bullseye behind!!!It could be even more tricky if we are forced to choose from the first 3 and then the last 4. So say you've made the choice to hold all of your first 3, that would mean you could only choose 2 of the next 4. It could be quite agonizing!
  9. So after some thought on this poker style grading tournament, I believe the poker table format could work -- with something like 4-6 at each table until we came to the final two rounds. In the last two contests I was in we had about 120-145 contestants I believe. We would have two from each table advance, the winner and the runner up. Lets say we get an odd number of 135. That's 27 tables with 5 players each, so 54 would move on. That would leave 5 tables with 5 and one table with 4. 12 would move on. That would leave 3 tables of 4 players. 6 would move on. That would be 1 table of 6. 2 would move on. Last round would be head to head.
  10. I will take a stab at this one. The book is in VF/NM condition without the defect, probably 8-8.5. I would grade down about one full point for the defect bringing it down to a 7.0 maybe 7.5. It is an unusual defect, looks to be about the width of a strip of tape? Are you telling us that there is still something glued there? Or just that it appears that something was glued there?
  11. 118 and 224 are the only bullet chasing Flash covers in my collection. But my collection is missing 68 issues so there may be others out there? It is a common Flash theme.
  12. How many times did Flash race Superman? Looking at getting a 175 this year.
  13. I have been thinking about this off and on for a few days now...How about a Texas Hold 'em style contest. We'd get 3 books to grade at first, followed by another4 books. At each stage before we knew the actual grades we'd have to choose our best out of the first 3 and the best out of the 4 to equal five grades total (The ones we think we got the closest.) Then the big reveal! Did we choose the best books? The player that got the closest moves on. It could be head to head or 5 or more at a virtual poker table--still trying to think that part through. Any thoughts? Ace=Bullseye King=.5 or less Queen=1.0 or less Jack=1.5 or less 10=2.0 or less Junk=2.0 or more
  14. A little more than half way through page 118. Any more 118's out there? I will take a closer look in the Flash vaults to see if there are any more bullet chasing Flash covers...lets hope my scanner issue is solved by the time we get to 119.
  15. Any more Flash chasing a bullet covers out there? This was one of the first Flash's I bought when I was a kid, (not this particular copy, I sold all those in the 80's)😀
  16. Very nice looking copy!!! What would you grade it at?
  17. I don't think I've ever seen a 118 in better condition than this! How many Flash covers show Flash chasing a bullet? I can think of at least one more...
  18. Scanner still down, will have to settle for a crummy cellphone photo of my 118:
  19. Another beauty of a book Bill!!! As for poor Kid Flash, advertising him on the cover was clearly an afterthought, pasted on the cover art at the last minute.
  20. I'm jealous! I don't have one yet! One of 5 10 cent'ers left on my list. I have a feeling I'll probably pick one up this year. You are fortunate Flash fans indeed!!! One last post for page 117, get yer 118's ready Flash Fans!
