  1. The reason Superman sometimes wears black & white is because DC considers More Fun #31 his first appearance. They argued this...with More Fun #31 submitted into evidence...in their court case vs the Jerry Siegel family.
  2. Yeah color and with Bucky is nice. But the bottom line is...does a character appear or not? Can you see him or not?
  3. To me, it's the opposite. My eyes seeing a character is a fact. The first published image is a fact. Everything else is nuance and opinion.
  4. How could I forget about Action Comics #12 ?? Look for it to challenge for the top spot in my list in the yearly Top-20 thread.
  5. I'm bringing us all up. If 1 of dozens of grade-9 (2nd highest) 1952 Mickey Mantle rookies can sell for $7M...I say that several comics should be worth $20M. You disagree?
  6. How about More Fun Comics #31. First published image of Superman. On newsstands April 1, 1938.
  7. I absolutely agree 100%. I was expecting some typical choice as I scrolled down on your post...but you're right on the money with this one! First published image of Captain America.
  8. 'Promise Collection' on a label...you just know it's a load of spoon but serious.
  9. This is the first appearance of Archie. Call it the first printed image of Archie if that makes you feel better...Pep 22 can still be the first story. But this should be 10X more valuable than Pep 22. Seriously.
  10. I mean that's a basic summary how I remember it lol. If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me.
  11. Everyone makes a big deal about stuff they own & like. Several Flash #1's have sold over the last 10 years...and it has never been a big deal on here.
  12. I'm not complaining. Because I still have 2 books. I say look ahead. Give yourself a chance. Young newbies...when iconic celebrities die... throw down on their current valid drivers license or passport. It might be the 'rookie card' of celebrities in the future and worth a fortune. I have Whitney Houston's passport that she was using. I think my 9.6 white Church copy of More Fun Comics #31 1st printed image of Superman (4-1 on the cover; April 1) should be worth $20M lol. My point is...there are still opportunities to give yourself a chance. Be creative. Don't just listen to standard advice.
  13. I assume you mean it's MORE rare than it seemed. 10 years ago, no one considered Flash Comics #1 (1st appearance of The Flash. First appearance of Hawkman) to even be a big deal. No one on this board gave a sh*t about it. They were too busy talking about Batman and cover art. I should know...I sold my CGC 5.0 unrestored for $34K. And everyone here said it was a good price.
  14. The Flash #1 that everyone is saying is so rare now...the 1.8 that went for $84,000...I never thought it was overly rare. Gerber 6 I think. But that's why I only collect GA comics. Huge potential. I sold my 5.0 copy 6 years ago for $34K. But...I'm not kicking myself. I still have my best comic...that I've caught some heat for saying I think it's worth 10X the past going-rate. I based my opinion by what sports cards are going for...and now GA key comics are following suit.
  15. WW grossed $167M worldwide. You can argue decent or flop (for a GA Justice Leaguer). But the $19M in China was bad...a Chinese movie set a record of like $500 not long after. Also, low grade copies of AS8 and MF73 sold for similar prices before this big boom. All I'm saying is that the prices should eventually even out. It's not like there's some huge ingrained difference between WW, Aquaman, Flash, and Green Lantern.
  16. Linda Carter is iconic. But things change. WW2 flopped. Aquaman is the top grossing DC movie. All I'm saying is that I expect things to even out. WW shouldn't necessarily have an All-Time thread since 2007 unless Aquaman has one too.
  17. If the 'Wonder Woman all the time' thread can be on the front page since 2007.... I mean I feel like Red Buttons....And Aquaman never got a dinner or a thread !!! The media says WW is awesome. But they lie. She is great. But she's nowhere near Aquaman's popularity.
  18. Newbies...this is why I say what I did. This is a great place for info. But...use your own judgement. The predictions on here are 'mess' lol.
  19. I've been suggesting ideas for newbies for years. Things that have big potential. Give yourself a chance. 1 hour after I finally said on here that I bought Whitney's passport (for $15K...not like hey, look at how rich I am)...I'm accused of being all full of mess and pumping.
  20. Such problems lol. Hey...we age 50+-ers can't take our comics with us. I mean I'd rather drop dead than depart with my favorite comic....but I really want to give the newbies on the GA forum some great advice. So they can have fun all their life thinking about their item before they drop dead and it gets sold. Seriously...it's good to not care about $. In 3 years, I might need $ to pay for my niece's college. Someone about age 30 should buy my Whitney Houston current valid passport when she passed away. Because in the future I GUARANTEE this and her current valid Drivers License will be the 'rookie cards' of celebrities. Worth $10M for sure...but after I croak lol.
