  1. What was Superman #1 CGC 8.0 selling for 7 years ago? I never said my predictions are always correct. I said that the advice on here rarely predicts the huge bump ups in value...especially if it's something we don't own. Recently I posted on here that the very top comics should be worth $20M+...judging by the recent sales of sports cards.
  2. Superman and Batman TOGETHER made what, about 60% of Aquaman's box office? Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, and Shazam flopped big time. Green Lantern flopped way back. Flash needs all the past Batmans and a bunch of other stuff to draw try (and will probably fail) to draw interest. While Aquaman just sails along swimmingly.
  3. Ok without me even trying to re-hash the past....let me simply put my money where my mouth is and give you my top investment picks: For newbies....items that might still be possible to throw down 20% on and figure out a way to get it: More Fun Comics #31....first printed image of Superman. Human Torch #3(#2)....first printed image of Captain America. The Flash and Thrill ashcans.... first Captain Marvel. Any pre-first-appearances. And the best conditioned first appearances of lesser GA characters. Current valid drivers licences and passports of famous people when they died. I predict that these will be the 'rookie cards' of celebrities in the future.
  4. Hello. I honestly like to give newbies advice. And I will if you want. But for now just let me say, in regards to your comment.... This board is great for information. And helpful; you can ask anything and get good info. Good guys on here. And it's fun !! But you will not get good investing advice on here. Yes comics in general are a good investment. But as for which comics will go way up and how things will shape up in the future, or what certain comics should be worth....most advice and opinions here are very bad. So my general advice is....use your own judgement. Compare comics to sports cards and other collectibles and make your own predictions.
  5. Yeah it's smarter and quicker business to press up Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles at $250K a pop.
  6. That's the most ridiculous thing that I have ever heard.
  7. The guy who bought this Superman in 8.0 for $5.3M should have gave the owner of the Church 9.4 AA-16 a phone call or email instead. Am I wrong?
  8. I haven't heard any news or rumors on it for 15 years. Which makes it more legendary. Last I heard 15 years ago was that Mr. Verzyl turned down a million dollar offer.
  9. I wonder if the guy who bought this is Middle Eastern royalty. I heard that a guy like that was trying to build his collection. If so...hey, message me. Why not be my friend and give me $10M....?? To get my comic I started with $19k and made 2 good moves. I'm not rich at all.
  10. It's not about hierarchy. It's not because Superman's first solo title in 8.0 is more desirable than Green Lantern's 1st appearance Church copy. It's not because Mantle is better than Ruth. It's because all the very top items are skyrocketing.
  11. Each. I said this a few months ago. I posted on here that the top comics must be worth $20M+. After seeing that 1 of 20 PSA 9 Mantles (3 are in 10) sold for $5M. Or was it $10M...it's going up so fast that I forgot. And that some brand new sports cards are selling for $3M+. The clear single-best-existing Church copies of AA-16, Flash-1, and MF-73 should be worth $10M+.
  12. Upgrade to 4th appearance of Batman? Or 1st appearance of the Spectre? Or the Human Torch and the Angel? Or 3rd Superman cover appearance? Or 1st appearance of Wonder Woman? Green Arrow would easily beat her at the box-office. Hey she is iconic, All Star #8 is better than all the comics I listed above. But it's a Gerber 4 or 5. Aquaman & Green Arrow at Gerber 7 is clearly better. Despite what the media tries to tell us. Wonder Woman 2 flopped.
  13. They need to take by-far the highest grossing movie of all time...and put it underwater...to try to stop Aquaman.
  14. What if Disney put 'Avengers: Endgame 2' on March 4, on the same day as 'The Batman' ?
  15. Would it help if I told you I'm living in a cheap 1-room apartment? I am. And with 3 cats. I think the topic of the December 16 showdown is interesting.
  16. But it's more fun (no pun intended) getting the reactions/opinions of this board. Which is the best board. Rather than the general population of movie fans.
  17. It's all good though. All in good fun. We Aquaman fans enjoy getting teased. I was actually hoping for another round of predictions of getting destroyed at the box-office. But instead the narrative is that Avatar is nothing LOL.
  18. When newbies or anyone asks for some honest advice, or just in general...I try to be honest. I don't pretend to be totally unbiased while saying everything stinks except the great things I own.
  19. I've always said I like the cameo and ad first-appearances. Myself, and some sites like even ComicConnect at times, refers to it as the 'first printed image'.
  20. The leading staff of the largest most famous auction houses (not just comics)....were hired right off of the parking lot of Honest Larry's Slightly Used Cars. My advice....if it doesn't seem right, it isn't right. No matter what they say.
  21. Instead of 1 guy, me, giving anecdotal/circumstancial evidence....let's think big picture. Think about all the blatant lies we see everywhere else, even right in front of millions on the television. Why wouldn't auction houses control the action?? It's all totally in-house.
