  1. Cool...I mean I'd way 'overpay' for something I really want. But...watch out. Buying or selling, and not just comics. Don't believe their sweet talk on the phone. Don't sign their papers or let them lock you in by saying your item is listed in their useless catalog. Make sure your item is advertised online for months.
  2. Auction Houses and insiders have warehouses full of GA and all comics to clean & press & release to the public in order to maximize their profit. Heritage (for all items) adjusts the bids, keeps items for themselves, makes sure other items are for max bid, etc., etc.
  3. DC Superpets movie stinks. I want to see American Eagle rescuing POWs and blitzing Nazis and Commies...tearing them up with his claws.
  4. The youngster in the other thread, who has 50 years ahead of him....my advice is: Don't buy comics for the cover art. Despite what everyone says. Buy the highest graded of 1st appearances. Master Comics #32 might be the exception....I call it the 1st appearance of how the American Eagle should be.
  5. My above post got messed up. What I was trying to say is....the only comic I'd buy simply for the cover (that's not how I collect)....is Master Comics #32.
  6. Speaking of Hulk 181....I think a youngster should invest in Hulk 180 instead. And not listen to popular thought. Use your own eyes. Don't be afraid to rock the boat. Sorry Cap 1 fans....but I'm only interested in Human Torch #3(#2).
  7. Let's put it this way. Put my current mind/mindset back in my 20-year-old self....and I'd be swimming in money now. With collectibles and with a successful business or 2. My advice to 20-year-olds is....keep your eyes open for and go for business opportunities....and try to predict what collectible items are underrated now but will be desirable in the future. And don't listen to the current standard advice.
  8. Patrick Wilson...Ocean Master...on the set of Aquaman 2:
  9. But hey ok, I try to be honest. I was always thrilled with casting Momoa. And the Black Manta and Ocean Master actors are getting super jacked too. Manta is 6'3" too...just an inch under Momoa. He said when he first arrived on the Aquaman 1 set and saw Patrick Wilson all huge & ripped, he said "Oh, it's gonna be like this."
  10. True, television needs to be considered. Which gives a huge boost to Aquaman's first comic....albeit from the Green Arrow. Also, Aquaman actually does have a new cartoon coming out. To me, it seems like Aquaman made Momoa....as all his previous movies flopped.
  11. vs Black Manta Ezra Miller Flash is not-straight. Heath Ledger Joker and new Jokers are not-straight. New Batman is highly questionable...he looks ridiculous in that muscle-suit.
  12. Thank you. It's a tough crowd in here. Coincidentally (or rather inversely?) my favorite clips that I watch every day is Pawn Stars....where the entire comments-section proclaims that every mediocre item is worth a fortune.
  13. Well the sample size is low....but the popular opinion seems to be that The Batman will win. Anyone care to predict the numbers? Let's assume pre-Covid fair-and-square. Will Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom improve on $1.15B. If so....will this new Batman go to $1.5B or what??
  14. They have movies in production, and Superman doesn't. Plus Man Of Steel already got beaten soundly by Aquaman. As did Batman v Superman.
  15. The 3 contenders for top DC and GA superhero in the general public. Who will get the best box-office??
  16. Harley Quinn, Wonder Woman, and Black Widow simply aren't as popular with general audiences as we're told they are. And the movies are pretty bad.
  17. As Pantodude said....page quality and all notes are already factored-in to the CGC number-grade. I actually have no idea if brittle pages means it's really brittle or if it's just the next bump-down from tan-to-offwhite. I've never seen a label that says tan pages.
  18. More Fun 31 has the earliest copyright date of these 3. May 5, 1938. Detective 15 is May 10. Adventure 26 is later in May, I forgot the day. DC used MF 31 in their court case vs Siegel to establish the earliest appearance of Superman. MF 31 Church has 4-1 on the cover as the newsstand arrival date.
  19. If you can't acquire Action #1 first story-appearace of Superman.....be on the lookout for a More Fun #31 first image of Superman.
  20. Think about it. Be proactive. Grading, auction, and dealing companies are smart and want MONEY. They will produce 8.0 copies up the ying-yang, from out of nowhere. Sell all your comics like that and invest in Church copies...or I predict current valid driver's licenses and passports of dead celebrities will be the next big thing.
  21. Google probably doesn't like this.
  22. Hey the photo is cut-off at the bottom.... the best part...
  23. I'm not a covers guy. Except if the top-grade of this one popped up for sale....I might have to get stressed and see if I could figure out how to buy it. The only comic I'd way-overpay for simply for no reason other than I like the art.
  24. Marvel's 1960's Daredevil gets all the hype. But I'd take an SS #6 any day of the week. I have no interest in SA comics. An original-Daredevil movie, with obviously The Claw as the villain, could have a lot of potential. I rate the 1922 Nosferatu stairs-shadow image as #1 all-time in horror cinema.
