I picked this The Funnies 44 when working out a deal on a few books. I really liked the Cover and and shape for the age. But it does not really fit with my collection I would say it is a g/vg (GA grading is not my forte) complete no resto that I see attached cover (although the top front is off) and centerfold. Overall a decent book. There are only 5 in the CGC census and sales data scarce. The last raw g/vg I found sold was on heritage in 2017 for 155. I asking 250 now $125 shipped or best offer thanks

I agree.. I was just mentioning a possible outcome- I had an X-men 8 that was missing an interior add page it was a CGC 5.5 but green label

The issue with this I think is how CGC will handle the bug chew that went into the book. if it did not affect the story it could get higher then a 2.0 but once you affect the story it drops it ... is it possible it would get a green label? like a book missing a page etc?

Agree but hopefully more people chime in and we can see Possibly but it also goes to buy the book not the label.. which I admit a pay a lot more attention when buying the other guys stuff

I have stuff signed long ago - that I got that I would love to have slabbed.. and so far have resisted and a few green labels... but I would like another option

If CGC could come up with something for outside signatures I do not think they would have a chance

After seeing the notes on the Silver age stuff I do not think either could have gone up from a press. I do not have the notes yet on the modern.. it will be a day or 2 before I can see them. We shall see if I should have pressed

Yea I have heard the horror stories and was especially worried about the PG ones... I probably just got lucky but better to share I thought. CGC did tell me on the stuff I sent in on the Standard tier not on the Modern. It was via email after it was verified

I was very excited when I heard about CGC offering the crossover service but also a bit apprehensive about lowering grades on stuff but since I only have a few of the the other companies slabs I figured why not. It is interesting because the 5 books I sent in were very diverse in era grade and company so it is a nice cross section for reference. I just got all the results and will share for anyone else who may be considering it below is what I sent and the results.. before anyone asks I did not have any of the books pressed before the regrade. X-men 4 C-BCS 5.5 came back CGC 5.5 Brave and the Bold 62 C-BCS 8.5 came back CGC 9.0 X-men 110 C-BCS 9.0 came back CGC 9.0 X-Men 141 P-GX 9.0 came back CGC 9.0 Next Men 21 P-GX 9.4 came back CGC 9.6 I could not be happier with the results or with CGC (my obviously preferred grading company) for making this very generous offer. The best part for me was the 2 silver age books I sent at the standard tier and before they were de-slabbed CGC emailed me with there thoughts on what the outcome would be so I could make a decision then. Thank You CGC and I highly recommend anyone thinking about doing this to go ahead and do it.
