    Got something fun in my hands this week that while not original art it is original art adjacent! @Readcomix was a friend of Dan Green and was able to acquire the photo copies Dan kept of a lot of his work.. some were copied at 11x17 some by 8x12 … Gene (that Readcomix guy) knowing I’m a huge X-men fan gave me first choice on them … and I picked up some great pieces. I know they are just photo copies … but they were Dan Greens and of pages I’ll probably never own! A buddy of mine compared it to making my own artists edition! Lol there is a sales thread in copper comics for sale section with other ones available .. but these are the ones I grabbed!

    Ok- I’m just saying that saying someone took advantage of you is a negative saying. Like they ripped you off. But as we all know pricing art is subjective so if you didn’t like the evaluation you had other options. Rather than saying you were taken advantage of .

    Interesting- you say he “took advantage” - how do you mean? if you didn’t like his evaluation why didn’t you just pay cash for your commitment then?

    If you are looking to move a bunch of pieces - I can’t recommend enough talking to Bill about doing an amateur dueling dealers … it’s loads of fun and you can get pieces to collectors and make lots of connections!

    I’ve made trades with most of the bigger dealers (Burkey Anthony Moy Bechara even one of the Bros) happy with all of the deals but each is different some you are getting the least value (Moy) some close to ask/value if reasonable (burkey / Anthony) some you have to trade like for like to get the value (Bechara and the Bros).. but with each it takes some finesse and understanding in the negotiations. Not sure you can really quantify a hard and fast number.

    Another great show! Yes some prices where very high… yes some art we have scene before.. I have no problem with either of those things because stuff I thought was over priced sold, good for the seller and buyer!, and pieces I’ve seen before sold, good for the buyer and seller! People’s tastes and cash flow change! for me I bought a great piece from one of my favorite stories ( thanks @Brian Peck) I finished up a cash trade deal that has started and stopped for a while ,sold two other pieces (one I have offered before) to help fund the page I bought! Also got to host a panel with one of my favorite modern artists. So overall a great event as usual ( thank you @Bill Cox) !

    I’ve participated every time and never took payment that had a fee… meaning I’ve only taken PayPal ff check or Venmo friend. and it has never been an issue! good luck!

    Couple successful marriages! All acquired on the boards… (although the all winners has to go back for a change to conserved label) Ive transitioned almost exclusively to OA so may be letting these go … so if interested feel free to pm an offer!

    Don’t discount the possibility that the dealer just bought it at your asking price stuck it in a folio for a few months and then put it out at a higher price. Wolverine covers aren’t cheap and you don’t see many for 2k no matter the artist

    When they sell much cheaper then like items that’s what happens! half kidding above.. but I was talking to one of the bigger dealers who basically said to get inventory in this environment they all basically have to buy from auction as there just isn’t enough in the wild .
